Not a single pixel boat is worth $70, but some people probably think my gun collection isn't worth it either. Also great statistical work done by Brett, one thing to note though is the number of shots fired (while it is 10 games each) is not even. Given your accuracy of average 43-44% you would expect Iowa's accuracy to fall if matched to NJ's 933 shots fired. Which also kinda confirms Iowa isn't shadow nerfed lol but great analysis either way

Hmm, I guess the main bonus is that it's a prem iowa so prem benefits. Doesn't seem to be a whole lot better out on the water. Thanks for the work.

So many good options for T7 BB's. Iowa, Kansas, Alabama, Massachusetts. I think any one of these is at least comparable to this ship and they are all free. I don't see the need give $70 to WG for a ship that i already have 3 or 4 of.

I bought the NJ and the Commander and I’m not disappointed. Again, I’m a huge Big J fan so I was getting regardless. I’ve only done about 12 games in it so far. Not any noticeable differences really from Iowa. Commander seems worth it as my damage output is higher on an avg basis.

Seriously I don't understand the hype around the ship and the commander among the community. Some CC even said, "it is the most insane accurate build". Nah it is not. Sims, the free to play commander, gives you up to 10% reduction in shell dispersion in level 14/3 while the AL NJ will give you only 5% at the same commander level and god knows how many can actually level her up to 16/4 to fully utlize the skill (7% dispersion reduction). Her base skill is nothing spectacular either - another free to pay German BB commander gives you 5% damage bonus on AP shell, not even have the requirement of hitting beyond 10km. And the citiadel damage buff? Ask yourself how many citadel hit you could land on each game - getting 5 cit hit prehaps gives you extra 15000 damage points. Is that a huge deal? by the way can you really rely on the RNG that decided if you got citadel hit or not. The only best thing I really like is her fire fighting skill which is exactly what a accurate build commander needs. I am glad someone like you revealing the truth to the community.

Really, to determine which one is "better", doing a hard statistical test (i.e., a t-test) would present some good clear evidence (as long as your sample size is large enough). It sounds like the dude who recorded all of this has some basis in stats, so if he or anyone else could do this that would be really cool. Statistical tests like this aren't that hard to do and there are plenty of websites that will do all the calculations for you, you just have to input the data. I will definitely be dropping by Thursday.

Losing 3% dispersion reduction for a few %dmg isn't worth it to me. If the shell doesn't hit where you aim it, it doesn't matter if it does more damage. Slot 3 perk just ruins it for me.

New Jersey isn't even a "new" boat, it's a 70 dollar Iowa clone with slightly different stats that I doubt you'd notice through the rng bs in this game. I considered the commander for 20 bucks but then I played twelve games and did the math. I had fun 29.5% of the time on average. So naw...

True New Jersey and Wisconsin had upgrades compared to Iowa and Missouri did WG include that into the ship or are they the same.

I’d say that’s within the margin of error. Imo, NJ is basically an Iowa. It does have historical significance so I’m sure a lot of people will buy it just for that. It’s also a t7 premium so it’ll earn a lot more credits for people that like the Iowa. I don’t think any ship is worth the price in this game but you do you Haas.

I'm probably going to get the boat, only because I love the heck out of the New Jersey specifically and skipped black Friday and Christmas sales in the hopes it was coming. I really appreciate these types of videos. WG is still human and still make mistakes and like anything else need to be kept under a reasonable amount of scrutiny. Their only problem is that they seem awfully confident that the game has negligible to no issues. On a side note... I'm still wondering if there is something wrong with the aiming. I have multiple clips where I fire a full BB salvo and one turret's shells fall noticeably short. I wonder if it doesn't have to do with the accuracy formula so much as the aim lock not engaging right.

In my opinion, The New Jersey isn’t worth it, because A: it’s a blatant copy and paste of iowa but premium, which takes me onto point B: Missouri is Free (takes a hell of a lot of grinding though) and is arguably better than iowa and NJ.

That “premium” is the cream of the crop right there. Tier 7 premiums make the most silver in this game, BB mains, specifically ones that main the Iowa and know how this class plays, would throughly enjoy a premium Iowa, other than the Missouri, because that ship costs way too much steel for what it is. TLDR; New Jersey is great for those who love Iowa, and want a premium version of it.

Either NJ or IA can be better than one another. One thing to keep in mind is since the game is reliant on rng, these numbers and percentages will always bounce between better and worse. What might be a good thing to do is say 3 tests in total and have and average between them all, with the same constants. If you have enough statistics gathered then eventually theres going to be a consistent average that'd show which is more accurate. Though wargaming probably does this math already, we can imagine why, it'd be interesting which one is more consistent with below or above 50% accuracy The main question really is, which one can go in every game and hit ~50% accuracy the most over time?

I generally wasn’t impressed with the New Jersey but at range I was landing more big damage hits vs with Iowa where they seemed to straddle short and long every time I pulled the trigger and both have full dispersion build

For 70 bucks you can actually get a half decent bottle of scotch. Or even a full tank of gas. Maby if the commander and ship were a combo for like 10 bucks, then I’d bite.

I don't think they should offer any high tier ship to buy it's ruining the game. Have you seen how pathetic the player base is at high tier? It's sad when the rest of your team has less than 2 to 3 times xp then you; and that most of the team is dead in under five min.
