Good you were able to separate the product from how you feel about the brand/retailer and give a non biased review. I was a lil worried in the beginning 🤣. Mine is still in transit 🤦🏾‍♀️ I definitely agree with what you said about both Kayali and Sephora. And I think most people feel that way about Kayali, which is why products don’t sell out anymore. I haven’t been Rouge at Sephora in over 10 years and the only reason I will be Rouge for 2025 is due to my fragrance purchases. Shipping and the return policy is better than most. TFS!

Yes, to the sephora rant! I've been done with them! You are better off buying from the actual makeup brand site. I ordered from Sol de jenro the other day and bought a body spray and cream, and it came with a free full-size body wash.

I’m glad to know that I am not the only one who thought it was a slap in the face to make rouge members feel special. The perk of early purchasing with shipping is not a perk if you can go into the store the very next day and purchase it. Thank you for using your platform to express how a lot of people are thinking. Alta rewards and perks are more frequent and mix a girl want to spend more. Sephora is disappointing when it comes to rewards.

I just tried it at Sephora and it was super light.I even sprayed my jacket and walked around and can barely smell it. I think it smells like strawberry taffy when you put your nose up to it.I’ll save the $100 and stock up on B&Bw strawberry snowflakes and get a similar smell and same lasting effect for less money.

I will add that Sephora doesn't even let you use your $10 off (from 500 points) during the sale. Their system is trash. I'm in Canada and we've been waiting for Ulta to make an appearance here, but we haven't been that lucky yet. I appreciate your honest reviews! I love this Kayali release. I actually find it less "perfumy" then her other ones, and the dry down is pure gourmand sweetness to me.

I’ve seen a lot of reviews where people say the strawberry doesn’t last at all so I guess I’m lucky. The strawberry scent is what caught my attention.

It performs or smells nothing like the hype on YT in my opinion. Two other ladies at Sephora walked right off after the first sniff. This did not deliver for me.

Girl, thanks for saying what has been burning me up about this whole release. I too ordered on “Rouge Early Access” day 11/18. It is now 11/24 and I still haven’t gotten my 50 ml bottle. Meanwhile they have released it and sold out of it at my local (5 minutes away) Sephora. I had to go in and sample it in store yesterday. Supposedly mine will arrive tomorrow 11/25. I stopped into Sephora and smelled this fragrance today, there was a crowd of people spraying it🤣 I will say, I could barely smell it in store….way tooooo many scents in there and this fragrance is extremely light. I was worried if I would like it because I don’t like yum pistachio at all🤢 it smells like baby wipes to me. And as much as I love strawberry, it’s a scent that seems extremely difficult to replicate in fragrance. However with all my concerns, I ended up LOVING it!!! I used to love eating strawberry creamsavers when I was a kid and this fragrance is spot on to that candy!!! I definitely plan on picking up the largest size because I love it that much. You and Vania are the only fragrance reviewers I trust your opinions on. I’ve tried watching AI because you’ve mentioned her several times and I feel like she’s a sales person and that’s extremely offputting to me. You and Vania are natural and don’t come across like that at all and I truly appreciate all that you do. I also agree that Sephora needs to step it up!!! Their CC program is awful as well…..they just don’t show enough appreciation to people that a clearly dropping coins to be rouge status🤷🏻‍♂️ Ulta will probably surpass them in sales, if they don’t change for the better.

Hey Shaughnessy! Thanks for the review! I 1000% agree with your rant about both Sephora and Kayali. I stayed up late to order this perfume on release day, and tell me why it still hasn't been delivered?! I too live in Texas, and I saw the UPS scans that the doggone item was on the truck in my area since the 21st. There's no reason why it still hasn't been delivered today at 4:38 pm Saturday, Nov 23rd. It makes absolutely no sense. But, I learned my lesson with this early access crap. My exact reason why I like shopping at Ulta, although Ulta doesn’t have all of the same products as Sephora, I still prefer Ulta. Ulta sales and perks are way better imo… The perfume smells pretty and I didn’t get any of the coconut either. It’s definitely a skin scent and I’m not understanding why the package has “intense” because it’s definitely not that, I was hoping it was tho😏. It reminded me of Cotton Candy Cloud from BBW just a bit. Someone else said strawberry snowflake. I do plan on getting the 50ml bottle because it’s pretty, plus I definitely have to over spray it 🤷🏾‍♀️.

I love her. Layered with Kyse marshmallow body butter and strawberry snowflake body must. I'm so happy. I gave up on rouge because the perks went down hill. I find myself ordering directly from the brand and Ulta. Its less stressful and FOMO went down a ton.

My first kayali the pistachio was my favourite and it's stayed in the top 3. Ranking goes deja vu white flower, vanilla royale, pistachio gelato, vanilla 28, cherry which I just tried, vanilla coco, silk santal, sparkling lychee, vanilla rock sugar. Longest lasting are pistachio and rock sugar. Least lasting lychee and santal. I didn't love rock sugar but it's moving up as I wear it. Trying apple next and will test the marshmallow in store and buy it on sale. I buy all 10mls to change up everyday but will buy some larger bottles later to look good 😅

I agree with everything you said about Sephora as I am a Rouge member myself. As far as this fragrance, I smelled it in store for the first time yesterday. I sprayed it on my wrist and thought ‘meh it’s nice but not mind blowing’. That was 11am and all day long driving around I still smelled it and it got more intense and soo good! By the time I got home around 8pm I went online to order it! And btw none of Kayali’s fragrances last more than 10 minutes for me so I was pleasantly surprised by Yum Boujee Marshmallow. For me it smells better than Love Don’t Be Shy.

If I buried my nose in my wrist I could smell it still there, but not strong. I sprayed a ton, plus re applied through out the day and I did t receive a single compliment. I know a lot of people are “dying “ over this fragrance and rating it a 10/10 but it’s not super complex or unique. I kinda felt like cath and body works might have spray that’s very similar, or bits a similar vibe, for much cheaper. It is mass appealing, but I just felt kinda meh about it. I’m letting my bottle macerate and seeing if it develops a little more.

Sephora perks fell off years ago. Also, everyone gets free 2-day shipping on $50+ order. Same day delivery is a paid add-on service, so rougue or not youre paying the annual fee for that. AI was part of the marketing campaign. They selected 5 influencers for the ads. 😊

Sephora Rouge membership has went down the drain. From the 2 day shipping was free then you had to buy it 🙄🙄 then the samples are never what you pick!! Or the offers are usually gone. 🤔 then the point perks are nothing special..you can only use the 2500 points to redeem 100 bucks is only there once in a while. I agree I only go when I need a product or for the fun of it.. I too feel the influencers should do this for us that support them. I think the love is reciprocated.. Your hair looks amazing. I don't think 2 days early is "early access" so agree they need to fix it. My bottle and my sale items got here on the same day. I never thought they were going to release this in time for the sale, while it would be nice, that cuts their earning margins. I enjoyed the scent and can see it going as a go-to for layering a few people asked me what I was wearing. I think it'll get stronger as it sits.

Sephora could offer more to their Rouge members, and I think not releasing this fragrance during one of the biggest beauty events of the year was completely a missed opportunity. I'm upset too. I had to go to Sephora a few days ago to go in-store because I saw other people putting up content already and I'm supposed to be "early access" -so yeah, it needs to change. I let go of rouge after more than a decade of being rouge. After covid, I noticed that brand deals on their own websites were better priced than the measly 20% and sample birthday gift 😂 Outside of the US, this Kayali perfume is actually 25% off already at our wannabe Sephora. I think they didnt release it w/ the sale b/c production costs are higher and the brand owners have been very vocal about supporting Gaza. I suspect they have taken a financial downturn because of it. I own a lot of Kayali scents that I adore but I'm still not sure to pull the trigger on this one because of the strawberry.

I purchased on early access day Nov. 18 around 8 am Sephora didn’t ship my package until the 20th the gag is they shipped it with Ontrac shipping service. Most of these companies are trying to get people to pay the full price especially on new releases and they know some people will. This doesn’t bother me because I know eventually there will be an opportunity to get it for a cheaper price. I don’t personally own any kayali fragrances. I’ve smelled most of them and none of them are the gourmand scents that I’m looking for. As for Sephora, they know their perks are trash but they have enough customers coming back so they don’t have to change their business model at this point. I complain and yet I’m still spending more than enough to be rouge and shop basically every sale. Why? Because some of these brands aren’t sold at ulta and it’s an inconvenience for me to shop at individual brand sites (and try to meet a certain minimum to get free shipping when I only want one item). Love the hair and makeup. 😊

I left Sephora years ago when they changed the reward system. I had thousands of points saved and started to feel like I was being bullied into using them. I lost them all and never understood why they just couldn't transfer them over. They aren't for the consumer, nor do they value their employees from what I've been told. Now, as far as new releases, etc. I have slowed all the way down. Everything is overhyped, smells the same, or duped to death! Overconsumption is definitely a thing, and I was falling victim! Your gripe is right, but let me tell you…I oversprayed like crazy on moisturized skin and on my clothes and while I adore the smell, me nor my hubby can smell anything even 2 hours later!!!! 🙈😭☠️

Yea I noticed it didn’t sell out as well. I can say from my perspective this is something I would’ve jumped on in previous years, but why I have no intention on purchasing this is because (and you mentioned this) Kay Ali never smells like I expect it to. They always smell like an old bottle of perfume in a thrift store + whatever the stated notes are. And if you’re saying it is reminiscent of boardwalk delight, pink sugar, etc. I have those already.

Rouge. Placed three orders during the sale. All took three or more days to even change to shipped status. And even then, I feel like they were playing because the box didn’t move for another two days. All three orders! I know they’re busy but I swear it wasn’t like this during the past few sales. Before that, I was never Rouge so I can’t speak for that. Some bs!

I bought the 50ml and oversprayed to ensure my decision about it was valid. It's just too soft for the price of the bottle. I'm going to have to return it. Don't get me wrong at first spray it smells good then disappears.

Ulta is giving Sephora major competition. More and more brands will be at both places so Sephora is going to need to step it up. As for the Kayali fragrance, I can probably layer up to get this scent profile.

This! I received my bottle today (after ordering early) and it just smells Smokey. Nothing like what’s in Sephora. I’ll give it a week or so but I’m highly disappointed.

I just got this perfume yesterday and I do like it, but it’s not mind blowing. I do not get strawberry milkshake either. It’s just a nice pretty feminine creamy strawberry scent. It did however last on my skin for 7 hours, which surprised me, because it’s so light and fluffy.

I finally got my 10ml bottle today, and after the first sniff, I had the exact reaction I had when I first tried Bianco Latte = SYNTHETIC!!! I can't do it, yall. 😵‍💫 I love Kayali Down...however I will most definitely NOT be getting a bigger bottle. I will be patiently waiting for a Middle Eastern dupe because Miss boujeee Mama lasted 30 minutes, and she was gone. 😅

You are so right there are are no real perks they are no way like Ulta. Yessssss I agree these companies when they're small you know they cater to the people and then when they get that status like you said million-dollar or billion dollar company then they start doing things that's not beneficial to the people to help them get there because if we don't buy then you're not a million-dollar company and they need to do things to be more appreciative and keep the product in stock they are the only perfume that I go into and they never have the perfume in stock they want you to go online and order it and that's wrong that defeats the purpose for the people that want to go in store and look around and buy the perfume in store they never have it in stock in store
