As an aside, the P-11 will take S&W Model 59 magazines and work flawlessly. At least in my example. The additional length helps with those having larger hands so the Pinkie finger isn't sticking below, but there is a gap due to the longer length. When I carry my P-11, it has the original flush magazine and I carry the Model 59 mag as a spare. The downside is that since I've gotten so used to the HORRENDOUS trigger, I have to use utmost caution if I pick my nose. I could end up giving myself Dain Bramage. I think the almost $800 MSRP for the aluminum frame version is a huge misstep. You're starting to get away from concealed carry gun and budget gun prices towards collector prices. They aren't the same market and the former are not paying almost $1k for a handgun and the latter are not paying almost $1k for a KelTec. It looks really cool though and I hope they succeed.
@hurricaneshand3 жыл бұрын
FWIW it'll probably be more like 600-700 range in stores, but I do agree that seems a bit high. Definitely suffers a bit when you have to ask if you should just get a Beretta 92x or something at that price point if you want a metal alloyed pistol.
@Toddinlou3 жыл бұрын
Agreed… so someone sell me on these vs a Glock 43x with s15 mags or the P365x or XL with the MagGuts kit. Both of those are from companies with a much better track record and would cost far less leaving funds for training, ammo, and holsters.
@hurricaneshand3 жыл бұрын
@@Toddinlou well for the aluminum frame obviously that's a bit different from a polymer framed gun. The polymer version being 425 actually seems like a great deal when you consider it'll probably be 350 or so street price and then compete with like the Beretta APX and Taurus G3C.

The P-11 was a great gun. I bought one of the first ones. My only complaint has been the rear sights. After my first 200 rounds it was reliable. The trigger pull was not as bad as you guys say. It was light and easy to carry and conceal. It beat a snubby revolver by having 11 rds instead of 5. I was in a gunfight where it saved my life. I hit the tree that was between us2x , (there was a physical scuffle at first). I may of hit him with my 3rd shot, but I do not think so. BTW he was pointing a full size revolver at me. It looked like a .38/357. I promise I did not notice the pull weight during those moments. I know I cut my teeth on a revolver as I was trained in the mid 80s on a .38 revolver. I have been laughed at about my kel-tec many times but I do not care. It worked when I needed it. I am disappointed that this new gun is a striker fired. Everything now is a striker fired....they are not as safe as a true DAO. People just need to learn how to pull a 9 lb trigger. It is not as hard as it pretended.

Very cool! I love my P11 but understand a modern revamp. I wish instead of striker fired they did a greatly improved hammer fired (maybe something like an HK LEM ish). Still want one of each material already.

When James said..."a sweaty lust..." the Kel-Tec guy's expression is priceless, he just let the remark hang there, then he brow rolls the camera...lol...

Very exciting. I wonder how much heavier the metal framed version is. I bet it looks and feels a lot better. It's really cool to see such a cutting edge micro-compact design have an aluminum frame and wood grips version. I'm sure it will be popular, it's probably more fun to shoot and yet still lighter and smaller than rival polymer-framed guns from other companies. I always love seeing wood grips because it enables all kinds of customizations. Different woods, thicknesses, styles, silly cosplay grips, photographic "sweetheart" grips, and translucent "window" grips that let you see how many rounds are remaining (if you cut a window in the frame and magazine, like on the ASP pistol). That the rail isn't on the metal framed gun makes it less practical for defensive use. It was probably chosen for aesthetics, given that the polymer gun is an option for people who want the most efficient and practical design. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If it's only any ounce or two more, I might prefer to carry the aluminum and wood gun. I bet it's a better and more comfortable shooter, as well as a more beautiful object. Many will prefer it for reduced recoil alone, since I'm sure the lightest 9mm double-stack handgun on the market is a handful.

I haven’t been very excited about 2 things kel Tecs and micro hand cannons. But the p15 might actually be the first kel Tec and micro pew I like. Imagine finding both in one.

My P-11s have MCARBO trigger replacement parts and stainless guide rods. The "horrendous" trigger pull is now cut in half (about 5 lbs) and with a grip adapter, I can carry a S&W model 59 mag with 15+1 rounds. Also, I have the flush fit 10 and 12 rd mags. So, I have the same mag capacity (15 rd) and lightweight 9mm concealable pistols.
