That's really too bad, I've heard reports of Kimber failures, my experience is exactly the opposite. Pushing 10,000 rounds through a Pro-carry in .45 ACP. incredibly reliable, accurate. Only issues were FTF due to springs wearing out, which happened far beyond the factory recommendation to do so.
@chrissinclair4442Ай бұрын
@@murphymmc I first started looking at Kimbers in the 1990s. Even before the socials some would swear by them, others would never buy another. I assume there is a secret where Kimber tells their people to only buy a certain batch of pistols and that is why I don't buy them. It's kinda like how there are gas stations dotted all over the country that put a little water in their gas and it ruins engines over years of this practice, if not right away if they got over zealous. Whatever gas station you use, make sure you get a gas can every so often filled and check its purity.

Awesome! The new Kimber CDS9 Micro is a standout choice for EDC, thanks to its durable full metal construction. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Kimber Micro 9 Raptor Shadow-even with its 7-round magazine, it never fails to impress me. That said, the SIG P365 still reigns supreme as the king of micro carries across all its variants. Additionally, the Glock 43X, FN Reflex, and Canik Mete MC9 are fantastic polymer pistols that offer excellent performance for everyday carry. Great job on the review!

Very strange indeed. A 1911 style gun without a 1911 trigger is a hard pass for me.

Yea man I don't get it. It completely kills it for me. I don't get how these companies can try to call guns like this and colt mustangs and all their clones a micro 1911 when the only similarities are that it's hammer fired and SAO but otherwise no 1911 trigger,no 1911 barrel lock up, external extractor,etc. I could excuse some of these if it actually had a straight back 1911 trigger but it doesn't. If JMB could do it in 1903 and we've had double stack 1911s with actual 1911 triggers since the 80s. I can't understand why nobody can do it in a micro double stack package in the year of 2024.

@@ChuckSneed88 and you get to pay over 1k for this “1911 style” gun with next to zero 1911 features.
@chrissmalley83Ай бұрын
You might have to blame Colt for setting the precedent with the Mustang, probably because a 1911 trigger bow would add width to a gun where small size was a priority. The Mustang trigger pivoted from the top, so the guns that copied the Mustang followed suit. The Kimber Micro and Micro 9, and the Sig P238 and P938 all have triggers that pivot from the top. They are all great triggers, but they are not 1911 triggers. Since this is more an up-sizing of the Micro 9 than it is a down-sizing of the 1911, it's not surprising that it has a Mustang style trigger instead of a 1911 style trigger.
@Mike-4547Ай бұрын
I have a Kimber micro9 the trigger is really nice (it’s not a 1911 style trigger but really nice) my son bought it for me last Christmas, so far it has about 900 rounds through it which consists of, flat-nose, round-nose, Critical Defense, Hydra-shok, Sig V-crown, and Speer Gold dot hollow points, till now no issues, I will say that I keep it clean, and oiled. I knew a guy (store owner) he was having issues with his Glock 26 so he asked me to look at it, when I took it apart it looked like he had used toothpaste on the slide and frame, when I asked him what it was he said a friend of his cleaned it for him 2 years prior, but in those 2 years he had only shot 50 rounds.

I've never been one for SA's and manual safeties, but if I had one of these, I would definitely carry it (with the 10rd flush mags). I really like that they have larger mags for it as well. Awesome gun. Just what I've been hoping for. (Or a P238 / P938 with the same capacity and size).

This is a very well-done review, with clear explanations and excellent videography. You didn't emphasize the aesthetics of the Kimber, resembling a work of the gunsmith's art, versus a straight utilitarian black plastic blah. The 1911 trigger is one of it's best selling points. I have the Kimber ultra CDP II, the Micro 9 and the Sig 938. The Micro 9 with the pivoting trigger is the worst of the 3. Trigger pull weight depends on where you measure it on the face of the trigger, that's a function of the pivoting trigger. I would stick with the Ultra CDP II. If you need more rounds you're somewhere you shouldn't be or you need more range time.
