I think humans being called "Novas" makes a lot of sense because of Maurice's interaction with the little girl. She was the most recent human that the intelligent apes would have really gotten to know, so they may have adopted the name for all humans over time.

I saw a theory online that perhaps it’s revealed she can parrot back what she hears Noa and others say (certain words or phrases), hence him deciding to call her Echo. The article mentioned them wanting this to be a trilogy, followed by another trilogy. But I think that’s something we’ve all been kinda theorizing is the plan so nothing shocking there.🤔 Oh and a random detail someone pointed out in the IMAX trailer: during that split second scene at the start when Raka and the humans start running, you can see a couple zebras running away too. They’re towards the left of the screen, you can see their stripey butts.

Clearly the forbidden zone will be San Francisco - the remains of the Golden Gate Bridge will be Noah's 'Statue of Liberty' moment. Remember: the apes flourished north of the SF Bay in Muir Woods, and it's now 300 years later. As for Nova, it's funny that only in the previous film, 'War,' the mute girl's name is given to her based on the Chevy Nova name she had on her.

It was also a call back from the original POTA because the mute girl in that movie was called nova. Was cool to see war calling back to that and it being such a big part in this new trilogy.

I really think this movie will explain the Ape laws from the original 1968 movie about hiding human history and the forbidden zone. Proximus quest to learn and gain power from human tech and knowledge, will be the reason to create those sacred scrolls of ape laws.

Just a guess, but I think the name Echo will be in reference to the original POTA, when Julius says of Taylor's apparent mimicry, "You know what they say, 'human see, human do'." Echo, in this case, could mean that she "echoes" what she sees, including hand signals or movements of the apes. Just a guess.

I hope we get a after credit scene of the lost nasa ship in space but I assume that's for the next film, also I'm curious if Noah is gonna stumble on books or a computer system that will give info on the secret past like( original series ) Cesar had to do with the computer banks in the destroyed city from the original series

There’s a theory that I heard from someone else’s comment which I thought was cool- the character nova from ‘war’ grew up with the apes of Caesar’s tribe (since Maurice saved her). So it was their goal to kind of save other humans like nova who were mute but smarter and more kind. And so slowly a human tribe developed in Caesar’s ape society with Maurice that were smarter and learned sign language. And so Mae is maybe a descendant of those smarter humans that lived with Caesar’s original tribe. Was a cool thought/theory

It was forbidden because it was nuked … ask Thomas dodge , all the nitrates are locked into the soil from being glassed by a nuclear device… since the Icarus landed 2000 years in the future the radiation was gone , but the nutrients were still locked into the glassy soil , the mutated humans were a result of this nuclear exchange…, come on man 😂 I subscribed thx for the work you put into this so I can geek on my favorite subject which is planet of the apes content.

Maybe Nova is a special title for certain humans in this movie. Maybe the apes and Nova from the Rise, Dawn, and War have become something like gods, angels, or saints in this universe. What if Maurice is the first in the line of lawgivers and Raka is the current lawgiver which is similar to the line of popes. Maybe Mae is an astronaut and Noa thinks that she is Nova returned from heaven.

My theory is that the "Eagle Clan" is the descendants of Caesar. They had isolated themselves at the Oasis that Caesar led them to after "War". Nova (the young blonde girl) lives with the apes, eventually matures and produces children with another mute human. Caesear's Eagle tribe develops a more symbiotic relationship with mute humans...treating them more like pets, or the squirrels that you feed in the park. They aren't equals, but they aren't mistreated. All female humans are referred to as "Nova" in memory of their first "domesticated human". Meanwhile, descendants of the apes that sided with Koba and the Colonel have gone through a feudal age and Proximus has emerged as the overwhelming superpower. Something forces the Eagle tribe out of isolation--maybe they return to their "ancestral home" by the Golden Gate Bridge because of a drought or something, and end up in conflict with Proximus. He destroys Noa's village and takes the apes captive (a la the Babylonian captivity), and Noa sets out to rescue them. Is Noa an actual descendant of Caesar? It would be a nice connection, but unnecessary for the story as I'm imagining it. Is Mae/Nova a returning astronaut? I was hoping for more story before this arc was revisited, but it will be interesting to see. Personally, after the first trailer I thought this trilogy was going to introduce the underground mutant race from "Beneath" before revisiting the astronaut storyline. Looking forward to however it turns out!

I’m actually thinking otherwise, because it seems proximus Caesar’s clan or tribe seem to adopt Caesar’s window symbol and their “salute” of apes together strong. They seem to worship the window symbol and in a way worship Caesar as this Moses figure. If they were descended from koba they wouldn’t think of Caesar in that regard. So I’m not thinking that’s the case. If ever I would think proximus tribe are the direct descendants of Caesar and Noas clan isolated themselves sometime during the dark ages where a conflict happened where some of Caesar’s ideals were being corrupted and those who believed in Caesars legacy of peace and love left and those who believed apes should rule stayed. But the isolated tribe maybe just forgot about Caesar idk.. I just can’t wait to see the movie to find out what really happened. It’s hype.

But it’s very interesting what Maes real name is and everything surrounding her character is very annoying(in a good way) and I’m guessing if he gives her the nickname echo it’s because she ‘echos’ something that he does kind of like when Taylor trying to speak in the original

My theory is that she was on the space shuttle that disappeared in the first one and that she’s from the past AKA the Charlton Heston of the movie, but we never learn that until later in the movie and the movie won’t center on her. And focus on the apes.

When the movie started filming and announced IMDb announced it as that noah was Cornelius so this ain't 300 years later that's him thats the little girl from war thats maurice and thats rocket for sure this is part 4 a direct sequel not a remake our assumptions is why we're gonna go see it.

Noa has been Noa, Noah, Caesar, Caesars son, Cornelius, Cornelius's son. Freya Allans character has been Mae, Nova, Taylor, Echo. It's been direct sequel immediately after war, "one generation later" and 300 years later. It's all just a giant clusterfuck mismash of conflicting information the last 2 years. But it's now confirmed he's called Noa, he's a descendent of Caesar but many, many generations later and it is indeed 300 years. The Freya Allan character info hasn't stabilized as well and is still a bit murky with articles all over the place still calling her Mae and Nova although she's had 4 names over the last 2 years. Trailers have been brilliant but the marketing outside of that has been very mismanaged and incoherent.
