Yeah the ground floor of the Courtleigh Centre is just offices now but there's an auditorium where the cinema used to be. I remember them hosting the Actor Boy awards there a couple times and concerts there too. Concacaf also has/had an office upstairs. I'm not sure if it's still open. They opened it in 2017 as the Caribbean affairs office.

They need rental apartments in New Kingston so that there will be some nightlife after working hours. They need to do it with all the major towns in Jamaica. People will move around and spend money. The towns will benefit from sales tax. Who is there to think out of the old colonial box?

This area needed some more density and height in the buildings. Did they paint the towers ?

Unfortunately Sagicor in not an indigenous bank of Jamaica! Sagicor is actually a Barbadian financial group which bought many failed Jamaican institutions after the financial meltdown in the early 1990’s. I think Life of Jamaica and other life insurance companies were bundled and sold to Sagicor.

Bs,tht was a 5yr deal in which Jamaica still had percentage..Same with fly Jamaica, Jamaica has 10% shares and people acting like Guyanese own the entire

@@westkingston3135 no my friend, government bailed out most of the financial sector businesses that collapsed and bundled most of them together through FINSAC and sold them to the highest bidder! Life of Jamaica,ICWI,Eagle Merchant Bank,Trafalga Bank,Workers Bank and many others. Government absorbed the bailout cost which the Jamaican taxpayers are still paying for today. Why would government hold interest In bankrupted companies? Fly Jamaica was not a government entity,it was a private company with Jamaican investors but the biggest investor was from Guyana, government had nothing to do with this business or transaction. Air Jamaica on the other hand was sold to Caribbean Airlines but the Jamaican government still retained a 16%stake in the new entity. All this is public information that can easily be verified..
