If like small fixed blades, you need to get the Until The Edge (U.T.E.) D-Trail. It's a 14c28n wharncliff blade with a dual grind. It has micarta scales with titanium inlays. I love mine..

I used to carry folders to work daily as a plumber but after months of sandy crawlspaces my knives would be trashed, been carrying the deckhand daily for 2 months and it's as good as new. I do not wear a belt but I carry the deckhand IWB and the clip on that sheath grips the waistband of my Levi's perfectly every time, love the deckhand and yes some of the best jimping I've encountered

I have a lot of Kizer knives and all are good, some are outstanding (the premium versions). Kizer is losing its edge. These “new” releases are mainly new versions of previous releases or boring new designs. Strangely enough, the best knives in this release are the fixed blades. I’m taking a break from new knives for a while but I don’t see any new stuff from Kizer for me any time soon. I already have two versions of the Militaw which is absolutely the best Kizer knife in my collection. Keep the great quick reviews coming.

Looking at the drop bear, it has options for nitro v and 154 cm, would you recommend one steel over the other? Not a really a steel snob but I do prefer something with better edge retention for a folder

Just a heads up on the Deckhand. The new orange g10 version has a Blackened stonewashed blade and not a pvd coated like the previous version had. So far it's only available on the orange Deckhand and as far as I know it's an Amazon exclusive along with the OD green and Serape .
