On the Pyrus, a couple of details. It's an Ostap Hel design. It has a safety to keep it in the closed position only. If you want to reverse the pocket clip for left hand carry, you do need to disassemble the knife but not difficult. Hawkbill blade is razor sharp. At least mine was.

Demco Freereign Is the only worthy knife for it's price! that said Demco pays 28.00 bucks per blank of magnicut to make 4 blades from it so no it's not a great deal in blade steel but still a well made knife!

Protech needs to work much harder to make their knives more ambidextrous. Either add safeties and drill more left handed pocket clips or make more left handed versions. They only give lefties one or two models and the rest of their stuff is not available to us. They are one of the worst companies for ambi carry. Maybe only Boker is worse. Virtually every Kershaw Launch, Benchmade Auto is ambi. No reason Protech can't be too. Their claim that it is because of safety is a canard because they do the same thing with their manuals. When was the last time you saw a left handed Mordax or Malibu??? My point.

Because more premium steels literally require longer times to be treated properly , polish , and work with in general. Polishing d2 is definitely easier than getting Magnacut to shine. Same thing applies to sharpening.
