Wow! A few months ago, I replaced both CV axles and the ECGS needle bearing on the driver's side of my 2005 Toyota Tacoma, and the wheel bearings were bright and clean inside, as if brand new! Even with chewed up rear (CV side) seals on the hub there was no dirt or water penetration. Surprised yours are so cruddy if only a few months old.

Great video. is it recommended to replace both the left and the right hub assembly at the same time? Or can you just replace the one making noise?
@ClassyTacos22 күн бұрын
You can just to one if you're in a bind. You should always do them both. When one goes the other will be coming up soon as they generally get installed together. Thanks for watching.

It’s so nasty inside the housing due to the bearing failure. All the grease from the bearing is now in the housing, along with all the metal from the bearing.

I see that you are running wheel spacers. I have always been on the fence about them. But seeing that you have them I would like to see if you have any advice on what to buy and install?
@ClassyTacos2 жыл бұрын
Sure man, wheel spacers get a bad rap. It’s usually the ones you buy at the auto parts store that are not hub centric. They are small and get sandwiched in between the wheel and the hub. Those are garbage and prone to failure. As long as you purchase hub centric for your vehicle, have the correct length studs, torque everything down correctly, and they come from a reputable company, they should be fine. I have been on spacers for at least 10 years on different vehicles. Not a single issue with the spacer. Depending on how big you go it does affect steering and fender clearances. So be ready for that. I recommend researching the forums, tons of info on spacers. Thanks for watching.
@bertbccfu95642 жыл бұрын
I've also been running spacers for at least last 10 years , and I agree 100% as long you use hub centric spacers and always tourqe to spec you will never have an issue, 1 extra thing i alway do is after the first 100 miles or so I'll pull the wheels and check the tourqe again ,I don't think I've ever had one that needed to be tightened but it's cheap insurance makes me feel better lol,

Why not use some antiseize on it so next time it comes off easier?
@ClassyTacos2 жыл бұрын
I did a little where I could. You can’t put anti seize in the spindle section where the hub goes into. There is an ABS sensor there. That needs to stay clean. Thanks for watching.
@bertbccfu95642 жыл бұрын
Here in New England anti sieze is a must , we practically swim in that shit lol,but yes every bolt that comes off gets never seize, also use it on mating flanges where possible, it doesnt take long up here for rust to grab hold of stuff and not let go,

*JUST A TIP FOR ABS SENSOR ONLY 👉👉 REMOVE THE ABS SENSOR AND SPRAY SILICONE LUBRICANT INSIDE THE KNUCKLE AND TURN THE CV AXLE AS YOU ARE SPRAYING AND PUT BACK TOGETHER AND DRIVE AROUND YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD SLOWLY JUST LIKE YOU WOULD IF YOU PUT SLIME INSIDE YOUR TIRE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS FOLKS!!!!!!!! MY ABS SENSOR HASN'T COME BACK ON SINCE I HAVE DONE THIS!!!!!!!!!! BUT ALSO MY HUB IS NOT LOOSE AT ALL NOR GRINDING JUST A SLIGHT HUMMING AND I KNOW EVENTUALLY I'LL HAVE TO REPLACE THESE FACTORY HUBS BUT NOW I KNOW HOW TO KEEP THEM LUBED!!!!!!*
