This is not an expansion of firearms rights. It is a partial restoration of firearms rights

~ Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Catwright, June 5th, 1824 " The CONSTITUTION of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their RIGHT and DUTY to be at All Times Armed. "

@FreedomInc ~Alexander Hamilton Federalist No.28 January 10th, 1788 " If circumstances should at any time obligate the government to form an army of any magnitude that army can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of ARMS who stand ready to defend their own rights and those of their fellow-citizens. This appears to me the only substitute that can be devised for a standing army, and the best possible security against it, if it should exist. "

That’s all well and good. But I don’t believe the part about “no records of firearms sales and ownership shall be kept in a database”. The minute I fill out that 4473 the government knows what I’m buying. You mean to tell me they don’t keep that info? BS.

They got legal weed and they got constitutional carry AND that constitutional carry goes for other state citizens too! It sure has its flaws but those things I listed are 3 huge positives

This was already banned in FOPA. The Act also forbade the U.S. Government agency from keeping a registry directly linking non-National Firearms Act firearms to their owners, the specific language of this law (Federal Law 18 U.S.C. 926) being: No such rule or regulation prescribed [by the Attorney General] after the date of the enactment of the Firearms Owners Protection Act may require that records required to be maintained under this chapter or any portion of the contents of such records, be recorded at or transferred to a facility owned, managed, or controlled by the United States or any STATE or any political subdivision thereof, nor that any system of registration of firearms, firearms owners, or firearms transactions or disposition be established. Nothing in this section expands or restricts the Secretary's authority to inquire into the disposition of any firearm in the course of a criminal investigation.

It's absolutely decrepit that a bill has to be passed to give immunity rights to people who defended their own life or other's innocent life! It should be common sense that We The People already have those rights!

Unfortunately the topic of rights has been made debatable. Mostly by those who claim to be "pro rights" because they really have no idea ehat rights are. There is a very high likelihood you fall into this category.

Laws domt expand rights. Just the opposite infact. If the draconian laws disnt exist that were already in plsce. These laws wouldnt even exist. Every person has the natural right to keep and bear any arms they choose. To carry when where and how they choose (short of private property). And for whstever reason they choose.. gun control causes violent criime.
@shuumai
@shuumai 21 сағат бұрын
I guess these laws just acknowledge our natural and reasonable rights, just like the 2A. They aren't granting permissions so much as limiting government's ability to prosecute or persecute people for defense. So at least a little better than laws that do the opposite.

I remember when Ohio first passed CCW passed CCW the Democrats screamed there will be blood in the streets. There wasn’t. Then when Ohio improved on that law passed CCW the Democrats screamed there will be blood in the streets. There wasn’t. Then when Ohio passed Constitutional Carry passed CCW the Democrats screamed there will be blood in the streets. There wasn’t. I am sure they are at it again and there still won’t be any blood in the streets.

@soullessginger8069
@soullessginger8069 Күн бұрын
@BearBig70 a good amount of people use it for liability insurance coverage in self defense cases. Ohio making people immune from civil liability after a confirmed self defense shooting would make that obsolete.
@BearBig70
@BearBig70 Күн бұрын
@soullessginger8069 lol... I would never count on state law to render me "immune from liability", there will be plenty of finger pointing and blame with the majority of incidents. Everything's negotiable in a court of law, and then there's the value of said type of policy, you can never have enough coverage. Bang for the buck, such big pools of policy holders makes it very reasonable for the average citizen to afford, not toention the other benefits of such a membership.

My 2002 Lorain County shooting was covered up. Deputy James Rico now a detective and DA Gregory White became US Attorney and Federal Magistrate Cleveland. My shooter also shot a house in Marysville before that with a family in it. It was a drive-by with a Russian Tokarev pistol and he was 15 then. No arrests of him or adults involved. Considered unsolved....

So basically, if illegal gun dealers buy, sell and resell guns that are later used in crimes, there's zero way to trace the guns back to them now. Gotcha. Good law Ohio 👍

Serial numbers can onky Tracey firearmsto the original buyer. And in order to Tracey a firearm they have to have the firearm to trace. But let's pretend that someone purchases a firearm. They comitt a crime. Then leave said firearm at the sense of the crime to then be traced. Yes, it can be traced back to that person. The issue here is you know absolutely nothijg about the firearms topic yet believe you have a valid opinion on the subject. When you dont.

And on the topic of the tracking. It states OHio won’t. Doesn’t mean Ohio won’t allow the Feds to track everything. If you do it online it’s being tracked. Plain and simple. No law will stop that
