In Japanese folklore Izanagi and his sister/wife Izamami shaped the Earth to be pretty much the way it is now. They would then mate and give birth to many other gods. However, Izanami died while giving birth to the fire deity Kagutsuchi, resulting in her going to Yomi, the land of the dead. Izanagi would then go to Yomi to meet Izanami again, promising to not look at her. However, as she had already eaten food cooked with Yomi's furnace, she was unable to return. Izanagi was upset and lit a fire, revealing Izanami's decaying face, effectively breaking the promise. Warriors from Yomi were sent by Izanami to pursue Izanagi, but he managed to escape, permanently sealing the entrance to Yomi with a boulder. i got this dude from superfest and he trivializes so many stages its crazy how broken he is (still not as good as phono/dkasli) the best way to describe him is that he is a single target naala that does insane damage. the way his multihit does not overlap makes it so he can snipe backliners without having to worry much about his attack hitting a peon instead. his spirit can knock back and slow any enemy to take the pressure off of izanagi, and it can also be used to get a second hit in with izanagis multihit basically most stages that are centered around a single, strong boss will get pulverized by this guy. he doesnt work as well on peon spam stages

I absolutely love this guy. He reminds me of Sephiroth's Final Smash so I nicknamed him Sephiroth. It's so satisfying sniping a backliner hiding out while also destroying the frontline and his Spirit summon is a neat gimmick to make the round feel more interactive. I never really liked Balrog, I know he's great but his lack of range was a turnoff for me, but this guy's my cup of tea!

Even if they only seed track broken ubers, why is that cheating? It’s a single player game. Except those niche scenarios, nobody can affect you in anyway. Gambling can suck a lot even if it’s fun and sometimes I don’t want to gacha. And I don’t think it affects the revenues much when you still have to get the tickets and cat food for a specific unit, it only may affect gambling addicts

another annoying thing i noticed with single target LD is that you cant hit enemies behind the base but the LD will still keep going into the base untill it meets an enemy so that enemy can get free damage against him

One bonus thing I noticed about his single target ld is that if you have an enemy at exactly 350 range and hold them there for the duration of his attack he will hit them twice doing double the regular dps so essentially doing almost 600k damage every 7 seconds

Advent stages become way easier with his insane dmg to traited, faster completion bcs of that + his spirit is stupidly good because You can push back and let Your meatshields in again. IMO izanagi is better than balrog. Just for the fact that balrog having the range of a meatshield means he can't land hits consistently while izanagi has the range outrange the high dps melees and the bulk to endure enemies that outrange him. That means izanagi can consistently land the 300k dmg hit on big threat pretty easily. and the fact that he can reach the backline with balrog level damage is so broken. He just ruins like at the very least 40% of stages to a joke because he kills the backliner in 5 seconds. And then theres another 40% of stages that he still dominates by just killing the melee pusher threats that comes out, and 10% of stages that hes just OK at and 10% of stages that he sucks at due to peon spam. I think he's only beat out by phono and dasli, just cuz they are more consistent, but there are still a crap ton of stages that he'll outperform those two by a huge margin. but that's just my opinion and I don't have balrog's cost down and dmg buff talents so i dont see the full potential of balrog?(i have strength maxed tho which is most important) idk

balrog is overall better, his cooldown is fast asf, faster attack rate, good against any trait besides metal, immune to weaken, decent speed. it may seem he cant land anything but he can with the right setup and support. his biggest advantage over izanagi is the cooldown and effectiveness against traitless

@@banhbaothit1629 I find that izanagi lands more meaningful hits more consistently than balrog. balrog requires losing 2/3 of his hp for that 300k per hit while izanagi just shows up with it. and balrog cant land hits on backliners without there being no melee support, which at that point whats even the point it's just overkill. to get balrog to land meaningful hits you need to find a moment, where the main threat is exposed to the frontlines, use thunderbolt, while balrog is strengthened. Izanagi on the other hand comes with a nice set up tool as a package deal, which you can use to clear weak peons and slow the main melee threat to expose it to his devastating attack, or if its a midranged threat, easy, just hit past the peons with the second hit. backliner? third hit. the three hits staggering up in range is actually so well designed because if you have two melee threats, wait until one is just slightly ahead of the other, use summon to kb and slow, then izanagi will move up to them and attack where the first hit will land the one in front and the second will stagger to hit the second one. It's just too easy to set up for how devastating the damage is. balrog usually ends up dying without landing a strengthened hit on the intended target, which is useless even considering he's cheap and short cd(sorry for this long paragraph lol i just think people underestimate izanagi too much) edit: i have maxed out balrog cost down since i left the original comment

@@blubbyblub88 of course izanagi is very powerful but the cooldown is still 4x longer than balrog and cost is 2x. you also cant have more than 1 on the field at a time. balrog is similar to bullet train, you send him out every 30s putting constant pressure on the enemy. Dangerous peons like Wilddoge, Sir Rel, Otta, etc get deleted instantly. 2+ balrogs can melt bulky targets like Oldhorn and Sloth in seconds. When balrog dies you can just send out another

I really dont think it's something so revolutionary that people consider it one of his main selling points. yes izanagi has 4x cd and 2x cost, but he's actually fairly preservable. even though he stands at mid range with only 3 kb, his summon and incredible hp allows you do keep him alive for a while, all while landing meaningful hits. i find that I can keep him alive until the next one is ready most of the time. also bullet train is has basically guaranteed meaningful hits, because they have instant foreswing and if they land on the main threat that's good chip and if they land on a peon they get double bounty, helping your overall situation. balrog on the other hand can die without doing anything meaningful, and while yes, he'll be off cd quickly so it's not too big of a deal, it can still be a fair amount of cash drain(for the record i still think he's an amazing unit just overrated is all)

@@blubbyblub88 his disposability makes him way more versatile than izanagi. u have more freedom to put him out anytime, without risk. at the start of a stage for example: clear some strong peons like relic doge or wild doge while saving up money at the same time without triggering boss. Also his berserker is guaranteed every time hes spawned, thats a chance of instant 400k dmg, paired with some support or cannon its easy to make use of. $2250 is dirt cheap thats less than Superfeline. Izanagi requires commitment and risk to put out. he will never be as versatile as balrog.

⁠​⁠@@ivanthedoomslayer#1 its a legend rare and honestly no he doesnt. Maybe top 15 or something but top 5 there is just no way. Many ubers out perform him. As a generalist he has piss poor performance on any stages with peons “which there is a lot of”. Worse version of gaia. And dasli + anubis have more consistent dps with area attack. She is very good but not even close to meta.
