What are your monthly costs that are holding you down? Also, where would you want to go if you had the opportunity to leave for a better quality of life?

Thank you so much for that! We weren't sure about how this subject matter would be perceived, but we knew it was important enough to be honest and get it out there. So again, thank you so very much for your support.

All really great points! So happy you both are living life rather than just surviving. 💕

Thank you for the support on those points we made. We are definitely doing our best to just live and enjoy this life. We've done plenty of the surviving and existing, and can honestly say it's better this way. Thank you again.

I just left with my son a few weeks ago. These are EXACTLY why we left! Love your channel!

@Travelingsinglemom Thank you so very much for those kind words! We are happy to hear that you were able to get you and your son out of that unwinnable situation. So where did the 2 of you end up going?

@@ExpatSingleMom Awesome!! We spent a week there a little over a month ago. We absolutely loved it. Have you tried the dajti ekspress cable car yet?
@ExpatSingleMom2 ай бұрын
Not yet! We will do that in two weeks. Where did you all end up, or are you still on the move?

We live in Bitola, North Macedonia. We paid $250/mo for a 100m2 apartment (900 sqft) 3 bedroom up on the hillside and not in the center. We just bought our 4 story home for 90K euro. We do own our cars but also bought a moped for 750Euro to get around the city, but there are buses and really you can walk anywhere. I had emergency hernia surgery in 2022 and was in the ICU for 4 days and another 6 in regular hospital room. Nothing fancy for sure but my overall no insurance total was 3500 Euro!!! All the young people speak English. Convinced a colleague to try it out, he is from Argentina and has made Macedonia his permannt home. Bitola is not for everyonecand there is air pollution but Ohrid is a gem. Macedonia as a home base is excellent as there are tons of discount airfare to just about anywhere in Eurooe. Wish8ng you the best on your journey.

First off, OUCH!!...I am SO sorry to hear about the hernia. I'm glad it worked out for you. And it's funny that you mention Bitola and Ohrid, because of the video that I'm finishing up on for release later today. 😉 We did happen to see Lake Ohrid as we passed through. Now I'm kicking myself for not having us stop and stay there. It was GEORGEOUS! I'm really happy to hear that you and your colleague are enjoying life in Macedonia. Right before we left the states, a whole bunch of people thought we were crazy for doing 6 months in the Balkans, but I had done my research and knew it was right for us. And we are happy that it's proving a good fit for you too.
