You are so,so right about the psychology of wearing a liquid lip. That goes for me with matte bullet lipsticks too. Some are drying but some are just not nurturing. There is definitely a difference! I’m so glad you mentioned that the darker shades show lip lines and are a little more fussy for application. I’ll stick to the lighter shades. That would annoy me. I think I’d wear the bullet over the liquid in any shade I already have, so I’m going to try one in a shade I don’t have yet. I’ll probably add Velveteen Fawn to my cart when LE restocks the Sorcery palette and I rush to finally get my hands on it!

I actually like the idea of wearing the bullet over it anyway. Then as the bullet wears off it’s more natural and I’m sure the lines wouldn’t show either. So I basically think you’re a genius

Oh these look beautiful on you and from the onset I loved the darker shades on you! However, based on what you shared about the darker shades I understand why your preference was the lighter shades. I don’t mind a liquid lipstick, especially when I don’t want to worry about reapplying throughout the day. It was nice to hear that they are not drying how some liquid lips are.

These are so interesting, Tracie. And I admit I’m still on the fence a bit. They’re not drying but they don’t feel as gentle as the Charlotte version. They last much linked than a bullet lip but not as long as other liquids. Hmm

I had my eye on Muse however I know that I prefer more of a satin finish so these weren’t really ideal for me. I am tempted because the shade range is lovely! I love theses shades and, what you said about the psychological thing regarding lip products is so true as I feel like formulas have been updated and changed soooo much over the years. I actually am struggling with the slippery and balmy lips formulas nowadays. I also immediately write off liquid lips as drying like you said. I want to try and rethink this, but I know I hate how they feel 😂 I want the long wear but not the pain - can’t I have my cake and eat it too? 😂 I am glad you mentioned some of the shared being fussy as that is an issue I’m having. I want my lips perfect but can’t deal with a messy fussy formula. Your reviews are so great and helpful, Rebecca. Oh, and I liked the first one on you best.

I got two of these and I'm enjoying them! I am near phobic about the feeling of dry lips and these don't bother me at all (except perhaps towards the end of the day when I add some Cerave balm on top of what is left and it becomes a nice gloss). I just realized that once I put this formula on, I forget I'm wearing it until it's been hours and it's worn off enough that it's gotten patchy and needs to be refreshed. This is a big plus in my book, considering that it's a liquid formula. I will say though, Lancome's Rouge Drama Inks are hands down the best liquid lipsticks I've ever tried. They wear beautifully.

I got muse and I love it. I kept checking the mirror to see if it was there. It felt like nothing. We went to a concert outside and I was MELTING!!! But my makeup didn’t budge and my lipstick was still on. I ate popcorn chicken tenders fries and drank coke and Powerade. It’s a fantastic product

I purchased Muse and Blush and thought the color and formula was super flattering and pretty! I mostly wear it as a stain/blotted lip. I absolutely agree with you about liquid lips having a bad rap because some but not all are drying. It's just a different type of formula. There are those of us who don't like having glossy lips. I appreciate your thorough review of this product! :)

If I do buy, I would buy the Jazz shade, but I have found my favorite lipsticks in Kaleidos. I just hope Lisa stocks enough of her Vega and Sorcery palettes when she brings them back! They sold out so quickly and I couldn’t get my hands on them😢

I’m into these. I started with muse and ended up ordering blush ribbon and jazz. They are easy to use and I like the idea of the staying power bc I don’t have time to refresh in my mornings at work. I also like how when you do need to touch up you can use the regular bullet to easy effect. Good tip on the dark ones - I will use a liner and see if that helps

Of course i changed my mind once I saw her video. I ordered fawn, affair and muse, the only one I did not like was muse. It went a bit too dark if not worn light & purple pink on me but looks lovely on you. I figured it was a 50-50 because I love the lipstick but it’s easier to manipulate the tone with liner. It felt very thin & light on but I haven’t used a liquid lip in a really long time yes because they can feel dry when you take them off but also because I don’t actually want my lipstick to last that long I know shocker lol. I’ll wear it tomorrow and see how it feels throughout the day

Thank you for the fair review. I am quite impressed with the LE liquid lipstick. Usually, my lips feel awful from using liquid lipstick but I figured I would give them a try. I got Muse and Rain but now I want Dragon after trying it at her pop up shop at Selfridges. I like the formula, it didn't move once it set in and the applicator was great for precision. They’re colors I’ve had my eye on but wasn’t sure about, and it was easier to experiment since these are like $10 cheaper than velvets. I like how you differentiated between drying and just not nurturing! I'm agreeing with some 💄 lipstick for example I bought well my husband Richard bought it for me the Rare beauty matte lipsticks 💄and it wasn't really drying but I always put a lip balm or Vaseline for moisture cause of the dry desert 🏜 heat 🔥 I also noticed rare beauty liquid cream 💄 lipgloss cream stain matte also feels nice 😊

Ok. First things first. You look stunning. You must be mastering the Dyson. I am a huge Lisa Eldridge fan. I have many things from her that I love. I think it was really smart of her to make her beloved shades in yet another formula. That doesn’t change the fact that I am firmly in the no liquid lipstick camp; even for Lisa. I have a hard enough time with matte bullet lipsticks. Her formula was the first I tried and enjoyed. I think this was a smart move for Lisa as she builds her brand. It’s incredible that she’s managed to scale her business from one matte lipstick. Her work is extraordinary. I am just going to wait for her next launch. I hope your mom continues to feel better. ❤

Side note - I think Gen X grew up reapplying lipsticks and glosses. We never had the option to not reapply. It wasn’t an expectation because the formula didn’t exist.

I am in the same camp as you. It's tough for a matte lipstick and especially a liquid lip to impress me. I enjoy the feel of the slicker more nurturing lip products for sure. And, yes, we def form our makeup habits early. Initial incarnations of the liquid lip in the 90s still make my skin crawl. Haha. My mom is doing well and enjoying the attention. Don't tell her I said that.

I ADORE this new formula from Lisa Eldridge!! I bought the shades Affair and Jazz and I LOVE both of them. Although I will concur with the majority of her customers that the shades look much different in person! The shade Affair is much deeper on me than I anticipated, which for me is a good thing. I love darker lip colors on myself. I also bought the shade Velvet Sorcery finally, which I misses out on at launch! I will 100% be picking up more shades from this new line !+

Great review! 🎉 I purchased Muse, and it is a beautiful color. It looks fabulous, dries fast, and is easy to apply. My husband liked the feel of it after kissing, and he is really sensitive to textures. In fact, he said it is his favorite lip product on me for the feel and color. I wore it for 5 days straight, and it improved the condition of my lips. I am trying to figure out which ingredient is contributing to that nice perk. Also, I only needed water to remove the product as well. I hope this information helps others!

I too like a nurturing lip, but as a Lisa fan had to try a couple and although I don’t usually like a liquid lip, I was really impressed with my 2 colours, Blush & Dragon. I think Dragon will be great in Autumn, but Blush is a great daily wear. I might have to try some more….. but also the Chanel you mentioned!

The darker colors of most liquid lipsticks and even some regular lipsticks can be patchy/fussy when applied and require more work. But the longevity works for me especially if I am working (on the pulpit) and really want the color to last. I actually picked up FIVE - I know. Fawn, Affair, Blush, Muse, and Jazz. I think I will get a lot of use out of them. One brand whose liquid lipsticks I actually enjoy are Cle de Peau.

Thanks for your review! This type of formula appeals to me most in reds, where you want a perfected look that stays. However-unpopular opinion-I’m not a fan of Lisa’s reds. They all have such strong undertones. The coolness of Ribbon looks very harsh on me. Dragon is more wearable on my skin tone but is noticeably orange. I’d love to see her do a true neutral red!

I wear matte neutral lip shades on casual days but I also wear matte lips for virtual meetings, as glossy lips might be distracting and I want my colleagues to pay attention to what I am saying rather than to my light-reflecting lips 👄 .

Thanks for the review! I don’t really like these, partly because I don’t find them to be very long lasting (I bought Blush and Rain). I’m sure that it’s because I’m only wearing a very thin layer - I’m applying and then blotting off a lot of it for a more diffused look. I do the same thing with the velvet formula, but it actually lasts longer. I’m sticking with the original lipsticks and the glosses - both faves.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yes we are trying to got an extra fan circulator fan that cool 😎 ❄️down a room it feels good on my hard tile floors but ouch the carpet in the bedrooms are hot 🔥 unfortunately even with a brand new AC unit we actually have 2 AC units upstairs and down 👇 we have a 2 small story home 🏡 we spent about $9,000 for one AC unit it's crazy 🤪 all though it came with a new furnace and a new remote AC ❄️/ heat 🔥 controller now we need to get the old downstairs done !!! Lol 😂 it's hard with no trees for shade just a stick tree LOL 🌿🪴🌴🌳SMALL BUSHES they're taken all trees down 👇 due to water 💦 restrictions it's so stupid ... with our heat 🔥 Temps they should keep them ! We aren't gonna lose water 💦 that's crazy talk from the California government when we get most of ours from Colorado in the first place I think 🤔

I have these. I sent blush back because it is VERY dark on pale skin. It also travels into the fine lines just outside the lips and is incredibly hard to get rid of. Muse is lovely and lasts very well, looks like a brown with a bit of a red tone on pale skin. I also have rain, this one is less plummy than the bullet lipstick version. This colour is identical to Charlotte Tilbury Rose blur liquid lipstick. But the Lisa Eldridge version dries down much faster and lasts a lot longer. The CT one wears off and leaves you with that horrible lip liner only look and also takes about 40 minutes to fully dry down, however, it doesn't feel as drying. The Lisa Eldridge ones are well worth the spend. The don't last as long as the Chanel ultra tenue though, I have quite a few of those. The lisa Eldridge ones come off easily with micellar water (unlike Chanel).

@@mariestopa Yes I agree. They are not hard to get off. I've seen comparison swatches from the bullet and the liquid lipstick colours and I agree they are not the same. You need an oil based remover to get Chanel ultra tenue off, no chance with anything else. But Lisa Eldridge comes off easily with micellar water. They are not as robust as she suggested in her advertising video

I purchased Fawn and am waiting for it to come. I bought some of her glosses to put over it. Did you put a gloss over the top? Did it make it feel better? I agree about those darker shades, not my jam

The only liquid lip that worked for me is Chanel. They are just fantastic! But, part of the reason is that amazing gloss that comes with it. Never feels dry! Lasts, like all day. Great when you are working with the public promoting all day. Lol. I also love the colors. Hmmmmm. I’m hearing mix reviews about Lisa’s. But, if I were to try one, it would be a lighter color. But, if it’s drying, then eh. Maybe I’d be better off trying her saturated lipsticks instead. Thanks for the review. Loved Muse on you.

Hello Janice! The Chanel as a favorite for a reason for sure. I would think that you should try the saturated lipstick from Lisa Eldridge as your first purchase from her line.

Rebecca, I have never owned anything by Lisa Eldridge as it's simply too hard to get a hold of here and I don't believe in importing all the way from the other side of the globe for make-up just for me. We talk the talk about carbon emissions and our carbon footprint, yet that flies out the window when it comes to make-up. My only experience with liquid lipstick was when I had received a sample early one morning and as my lips were feeling so dry, I thought I'd just use what I thought was a gloss. Instead, it was a dark shade of liquid lip by Maybelline! Once I had started, I finished it and was extremely surprised at how moisturising it was. I hadn't put anything on my lips since the night before, so they were very dry. I'll still be competing with you for the driest ever lips, especially as I've experienced them for longer. This lipstick didn't budge and kept my lips nice and soft for the longest time. Eventually, I added some gloss over it and I was very impressed. I still have more to go through. I've got a liquid lip from ABH, yet not matte and recently picked up the Burberry Lip Stain that feels more oily than anything else. It's a rather strange feeling. They've certainly come along way with keeping the lips nourished. The only issue I have with any matte lipstick is the flat look it gives. I personally don't like it and on myself practically makes my lips disappear. Despite my big mouth, physically, it is very small and I have to be rather careful with the lip products I use. I hardly have any pigment on my lips to begin with, therefore requiring a shade that does stand out. I have not pout either, which makes it even more difficult. If I was to wear a liquid lipstick, I'd just have to wear gloss to give the appearance of my lips being bigger. Although, I liked the shades of lipstick you used, I felt that you needed more gloss than just that little dot on the lower lip. I just can't abide by that flat look. I don't think that it's a nice look. 🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨 PS. Rebecca, I've sent you a much shorter email with a question about the blush. I've even included a pretty picture of her! 💖

Hard pass for me, I learned my lesson about liquid and anything even remotely matte - I’ve returned every one I ever bought. I’m at the the other end of the spectrum with those Merit lip oils being my jam. Once I find a formula I like (as in the Tarte tinted moisturizer) there is no dissuading me lol.

I always love Lisa's products and they never disappoint but this time I disagree the colours dont hold long, I've tried putting it on full lip, waiting for it to dry but as soon as i eat, its gone and i mean within the hour! For me this doesn't last longer than her velvets, i got muse, rain and affair but won't be getting anymore, I'll stick to the velvets

Hi Rebecca! I won’t buy any of these liquid lipsticks. They just aren’t for me. The only liquid lipstick I have tried and like are the Chanel. I love that they come with a gloss. I also wish Lisa Eldridge would come out with some new shades and perhaps a shiny, sheer formula. 😊

I like these pretty but I feel like if people have drying feeling on their lips 💋 just put a lip balm or Vaseline for moisture it works without interacting with the lip stain 💄 lipsticks trust me try it !!! I only used my rare beauty matte lipstick 💄 in Humble and put my lip balm over it after it dries down I never once had to reply the matte lipstick 💄 only my lip balm it totally works for me in the Vegas dry desert heat 🔥 🏜👍🙋‍♀️💕😘💄

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty yup I used to love 😍 chanel lipstick 💄 and glosses but now they have a strong floral 🌺🌸 fragrance I can't handle it gives me a headache it's sad cause I used to have their velvet lipstick 💄 and one lipgloss and the rest were those Rouge lip balm like lipsticks in boy was one of my favorites and other pink shades at the time 💕👍🙋‍♀️💄💗
