@John-shreds The rich always do well but especially if you compare it to the economic recoveries of other countries around the world everyone in the United States is doing fairly decently. I think the perception of the economy is a lot worse than the actual economy. @@DoRC Well that’s the thing. Inflation doesn’t go away or down. The thing that has gone down (from the astronomical levels, and record breaking if we were account for factors such as housing, which used to factor in before the late 80’s) is the inflation *rate*. Regardless of leanings, awfully bad politics are what hammered our current economy, and it really is not doing very well if you do some digging beyond just the highlight reel of cherry picked stats you catch on the news. I don’t know what Losi is doing anymore. I kinda feel like they are heading in the wrong direction. “Scale and Race Inspired”, is a direct quote and their new mantra. To me it seems like the RC community is heading in one direction and Losi is doing its own thing without any thought. People have been begging for a re-release of the Losi 6ix, a bigger version of the LMT, whether that’s 1/7 or 1/5 scale. Instead we get a bigger version of a car that wasn’t that popular in the first place, and they continue to under power all of the vehicles they have been releasing lately. Poor handling, bad steering, and underpowered has been their thing lately.

Wait, why on earth does it include the DX3? They’ve literally never paired the dx3 with a non avc receiver before. The entire point of them making the DX3 was for avc rtrs and the sr315 dual protocol was entirely so they could use the cheaper slt3 transmitters. I mean I guess we get battery telemetry? Idk. Seems weird. If it were a little bit cheaper, even just 750, I’d be willing to look past all of that. 6s in a car that size is interesting, but redcat did it with the machete first and that’s still on my radar. But it’s also a lot cheaper. Then again Traxxas is getting away with an eye watering $770 for the sledge, which is really disappointing now that the erevo is dead. There’s not really any great go to 6s trucks right now. The standard ARRMAs are too fragile, and I’ve found the motors are over geared out of the box, the EXBs are $700. Team corally pricing seems better but at the sacrifice of parts support in the US at least. I miss the days when everyone was competing against the erevo priced at $549. I remember I bought mine at $579 and it’s been the longest running member of my fleet. 5 years and it still has original diff internals, front diff, center diff, stub axles the rest of the outer suspension parts, minus the bearings, chassis and shocks. I think my Xmaxx and xrt have gone through more parts.
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
Well keep in mind that prices are definitely just going to continue to go up that's how the world works but I do think TC is a great option. They have a few places in the US you can get most parts from and even if not you can get anything from their online European store and usually it's 4 day shipping to the US. As far as the transmitter and receiver I know I've seen that combination before I just can't remember which vehicle it was in. Maybe someone else can chime in and refresh my memory. It does seem kind of like a silly thing though and it feels like they are giving the transmitter because that's what people will see but then sheeping out on the receiver because half the people that buy the truck will probably never open the receiver box.

I'm really not sure. It seems like something that would be cool but to make it bigger enough than the 1/7th scale Mojave to not directly compete with it it would be a pretty big truck. I'm going to reserve my judgment until I try it but it does seem like 6S is a bit anemic for this size of truck. They say it'll do 50 miles an hour though so if that's true it's not going to be too weak.

While I am VERY excited about a large scale Losi car, two of my favorite things in this hobby, I am highly skeptical. 6S doesn't fee like enough power and the 10th scale had it's fair share of problems. My DBXLE2.0 is one of my favorite cars but you have to drive it "scale", and expect to spend another $200 on wheels/tires at a minimum, and don't forget to loctite ALL the chassis screws!!! It's another $400 for a reason, much more truck than a 6S large scale On the Lasernut 10 Scale... I did a very thorough breakdown and review of my likes and dislikes of the Lasernut, overall it was "pretty alright", it's basically a DB Pro with more ground clearance. The shallow wheel hexes still have not been changed to this day, I really hope they don't make that mistake again. All of my bearings are pretty much done at the point and I have maybe 10 hours on this car, I am fairly good about cleaning and maintenance. The 10th scale version feels really slow for a 4S capable car, compared to the Mojave or 8IGHT XE RTR it's very slow. I didn't have any of the quality control issues (diff and shocks being empty) but I have gone through three sets of front and rear gears already. While I do really like the car I couldn't recommend it to anyone unless it's on a really banging clearance (I've seen them sub $300) or secondhand with a lot of upgrades. I have an 8IGHT XTE on order because I loved the XE RTR so much, but I will probably wait on the Super Nut, $800 feels appropriate though considering the 8IGHT RTR is about $680

Cool let it be a rock crawler/bouncer but if I want to hit some jumps with it should be able to handle that too.... What does it cost like 5 dollars to make the parts I'm talking about. This is why Arrma and Traxxas dominate, they build their rigs tougher and to be able to take more than what there intended. Example, the Infraction is a Street Basher, but my boy Bars & Tone has sent his off quaterpipes for fun and it's extremely durable. I always have to chuckle when I hear a statement as you will remove the spare wheel/wheels, as I explained to a friend who removed the spares off his UDR/SBR/Krake-RC Vekta5 and the Trophy truck, then wonder why they dont handle well rear end donkey kicks, or it does not accelerate well because the back does not sink down and grip, dont you think the manufacturers have done due diligence testing with and without the spares, now I have all these plus afew others with one each rhe Yikong Ford Bronco-R Fun-Haver along with a FID Drgonhammer, now they all work good not perfect all need some suspension tuning as all do for preference, coming from the world of full size suspension building and tuning for hell too long, they work well because they followed the theory of 1-1 Trophy Trucks, Class 1's, Ultra 4's etc and they work best with spare plus a full gas tank hanging out the back for traction whether two or four wheel drive, so my thoughts are hell it works for them and the RC manufacturers have tested and run with it. End of the day we are all our own man and no harm in testing but I feel you may be surprised having said all that great quick look and good info I will be adding one to my extensive fleet including dont get me started, a few road cars now they need a lot more doing to get a good handling car to hoon.

Oh yeah I know I'll need to tune the suspension in order to accommodate the reduced weight in the rear but it's usually fairly easy to do and unlike on a full-size car where the spare tire gas can etc are essentially necessary evils they don't actually have to be on this car and are literally just there for looks. Anytime you can remove weight from a vehicle it's beneficial especially when that weight doesn't actually accomplish anything.

Overpriced and underpowered imo

Maybe though it's similar in size to the XRT and a couple hundred bucks cheaper. Also they say it'll do 50 miles an hour and if it'll do that that's not bad. We shall see though :-)

That combo in my Infraction and Fireteam isn't underpowered. In the Fireteam it has enough power even with the speed pinion installed for standing back flips and the Fireteam isn't a short or lightweight rig. I'm surprised it's not 8s but not disappointed. I actually grabbed a Super Rock Rey when they were marked down below $600 a while back. It's still in the box but Losi already has a 8s Rock Buggy. I'm not sure where this is supposed to fit in. I'm really confused who it's meant for. I'm not bothered by it but also not really excited. Hopefully it'll be great and I end up with one. I love large scale rigs and already have all of them there are that I want. Crazily enough the only large scale anything I've had and been dissatisfied with enough to not keep was the DBXLE. I want a large scale buggy release more than anything else right now. Just not those type buggies. I want a Huge 8s Typhon type buggy or a new electric 5b. I'd be happy with a large scale LMT and Mojave also. A basher brother to my SBR 2.0 or a Raminator that didn't break every time you thought about driving it.
@gillyboyNY3 ай бұрын
@@boduke9428 I have it in my fireteam and infraction too and it’s fast, but those are smaller cars 1:7 scale. 1:6 scale is the closer to xmaxx and outcast 8s scaling. Then again my infraction is 8s now so it’s even faster. Anyway, that should have been 8s capable with that length.

@DoRC the original handled city bashing over and off curbs, and the different terrains I could come across in parks etc. If I didn't slam headfirst into sold concrete my lasernut would be on my shelf still. Being larger and 6S means the few obstacles the 10th scale had issues with won't be an issue being bigger. Being disabled and on a limited income I probably am just dreaming about one.

Well the looks are definitely a personal thing and the power will just have to see but the price is actually pretty good for how big it is and how detailed it is.
@JapanRCAdventuresS3 ай бұрын
@@DoRC well if the parts used were of a high quality “say T7075 Chassis & Towers” or metal bulkheads, or 8S Powered, at least bead locked tires, something!!!! (its cheaply built - the plastic details of the body etc don’t add to the quality of the rig), The 4074 sized motor is a joke on a rig this size. 4mm Standard metal chassis is nothing to brag about, the aluminum looks very cheap as is in the smaller rig.. True, the look is a personal thing , just my opinion :). It basically has a 1/8th scale drivetrain (and electronics) on a 1/6th scale platform, making this rig overpriced for what you get out of the box.
@DoRC3 ай бұрын
@@JapanRCAdventuresS All of those things would be cool but if it had all the stuff that a normal vehicle of its size had it would basically be the DBXLE and it would cost $1,200 like the DB XLE does. Being two-thirds the price will open this up to a lot of people that wouldn't buy the DBXLE and as long as it's decently durable it could be a good car and it might even handle better than the DBXLE given that it's based on a race truggy platform
@JapanRCAdventuresS3 ай бұрын
@@DoRC Let’s not even go there! The DBXLE is another overpriced underperforming constantly breaking platform that needs major upgrades & I suspect it will not be any different with this rig.

Hopefully it's durable. I couldn't even sell my Lasernut on the second hand market for a reasonable price; I've since stopped throwing money at it so it sits on the shelf looking as cool as it can with broken front shocks 😢

I agree and I think the larger the vehicle is the more scale it feels when you drive it. Mass increases with the square of size and that inertia of the mass of the vehicle makes a huge difference on how it feels going over terrain
