I cared for and milked a 300 head herd in an older delaval 11(?) stall rotary. Man, cow comfort and speed of milking we're tops. Easy on the hired help too. Except now I have bad thumb because all work is done with the same hand. Great content. Thank you.

SmartASH! WOW! New intro, new outro, awesome. You an TY-TY did an awesome tour, great tag teaming on the narrative, in my opinion, just enough info, not overwhelming, understandable to just about anyone. Ash you started it out with great energy and kept it going the whole video, can't think of anything you could've done better. Editing was great, bet that took some time. That facility is way more than I imagined......I'll spare you all the IT and media ideas crashing through my head right now 🤣😂🤣. Thinking the miking machine company might put up some display in the big room. Hit up JD and Madero to go in on a couple 6 seat Gators for tours, side gig possibilities are endless. OK I better shut up now, this could turn into a 1000 word essay. Thanks brother, best reality show on the internet! Take care......oh and Turn Signals....just sayin.🙄

All the best with the new venture, I hope it goes well We started a 54 bail Gea last February after using a 18 stall herringbone.. 1.The cows will get used to the parlour quicker than the milking staff 2.Cows kicking is a thing of the past as they have their own room and aren’t bullied by other cows 3.We feed some ration on the parlour and don’t have to fetch the last cows (no backing gate). 4.One man can milk 350/hour (mid lactation) with one man as a pusher keeping groups moving. 5. Getting cows off and keeping them off the parlour can be a problem

Very Impressive. Thank you Ash and Tyler for the tour. In 1997 i built a 40 unit rotary, so i have an understanding of your project. Does the center gland have auto greasing? The heifers will walk onto the platform with little training, it will be the older cows which be stubborn. Thanks for the video.

Rotarys are not expandable that is a big con in a pro vs con decision making matrix. I've watched a 34 stall rotary for over 12 yrs. Expecting 2 ppl to man that 60 stall with no robot attachment will be very taxing on those employees milking..I would assume your shooting for 7-8 min ride time making that 60 stall moving each cow quite a few feet as you prep and attach .I have milked in our 34 stall I don't enjoy it as I did in our parallel rapid exit parlor.rotary makes me feel rushed you feel like your always behind in prep routine.we used to milk in 14 stalls over 600 cows 2x 1 person in pit 1 person pushing cows no crowd gate .looks like nice set up in applaud you guys for continuing to move forward and making the investment in the younger generation

I’m a master electrician and an electrical engineer, and all those recessed lights are overkill. This is why hiring an engineer or getting some expert advice is so helpful. Too much. There are professional organizations that list how many Lumen of light is generally required in an area, and If nothing else, add dimmers. You can find very qualified lighting experts through the IES (Illuminating Engineering Society).

@rohrerdairyproductions4080
@rohrerdairyproductions4080 Жыл бұрын
That's a very good question. Dairy farmers put cows in different groups based off of Age, milk production, and stage of lactation. The whole idea is just another way of organization.

Looking nice and all.....BUT kind of old school thinking - nothing new about your setup - nothing really saved - manpower/fuel costs are the same - cows will still spend hours waiting for their turn instead of laying down or ingesting feed for maximum milk production. LeLy milking robots and feeding kitchen/robots feeding/milking many times a day are definitely the way to go - higher production with much more very useful data from each cow - higher feed intake pr cow - much more efficient use of feed way way less manpower/tractor power - much calmer higher producing cows....
