I have been digging out my old palettes from Pat McGrath. For a couple of years she had some great 6 pan palettes in collections like "Opulence". I'm so glad I held on to them. They are so great, and play wonderfully with her Motherships. But honestly, the brand has devolved to such a state that I simply don't care about the brand any more. I will be skipping everything you discussed in this video. Thanks. I always enjoy you.💚

Pretty sure the PM palette is made up of leftover stock from the holiday release. Doesn’t seem like anybody loved that launch, it was just available recently on Sephora for 1/2 price PLUS an additional 20% off for Boxing Day, which means it didn’t sell out even at 50% off. But let’s also be honest, I can see why the company isn’t doing blues. People may clamour for blues in a comments section but how many of them are actually BUYING them? ND did that mini blue palette recently and I think it died on the vine.

Totally agree on the disappointment of the PML launch (mainly that they’re not new shades). But I also know that if it had been a blue palette we’d have lots of videos saying they’re happy it’s different, but it’s not their style as it’s not neutral, just like we had with the colourful Christmas Mega palette in 2022. I pulled out last year’s Love palette from Pat McGrath (the one with the six pan palettes where one was all matte, another was mauve with shimmers), and I have been in love with my eye looks this week. Comparing this year’s collection to last year, I am just so sad. There is just no artistry left in the brand anymore. It’s like, if the marketing team wants instant success, just read the comments of what people want! I swear that’s what Natasha Denona’s team is doing because she is turning out everything people have begged Pat to do.

Tarte... don't buy Natasha Denona warmer or neutal palettes until you dig out your Tarte Tartelette palette. IMO they did it first and sometimes best. (I am still using Tartelette In Bloom but there are 2 or 3 other varieties.)

I believe the tarte palette has the cream door that covers the creams like Patrick Ta. Or thats what it looks like on their website. They've fell off for me as well, but that palette has gotten my attention, I gotta say. That's just me, tho lol.

I tried the Guerlain Terracotta concealer. VERY yellow undertone, and showed up lines I didn't know I had, i found it very drying and VERY matte. A definite fail for me

The Tarte palette, I could use both of the blushes, but the contour is way too dark for me, but my skintone is NC10 for reference. I'd love to see a review of the Smashbox palettes, because I have their Cali contour palette and I love it so much! Often when I travel, I'll just take that, because I can do my eyes with it too. But I love the idea of 2 blush shades!

The Fenty concealer is really good. I just go heavy near my inner corner and it blends beautifully. I wish I had gotten a lighter shade, that's all.

Initio Narcotic Delight is already in Selfridges. The opening and mid notes are amazing, dry down is a bit masculine though. Will need to try it a bit more, but for the moment I am not sure if I'll get it. If you like oud for greatness (which is too masculine for me), Narcotic Delight is a safe buy for you. Similar vibe to Side Effect (love) but different. Edit: I may layer it with Bianco Latte and realized that I need it 😀

I like ABH as a brand and am interested in the lip velvet in the dark peach amber shade, as Im one of the few people who actually loves liquid lipsticks and when I swatched them in books they felt really nice. The highlight also looks gorgeous, I prefer more silvery ones to golds and definitely want that! I saw a few reviews on the Fenty concealer and it seems ok… but a skip for me as for me, its either full coverage or nope.

Tarte is another brand I used to like a lot. Again,its packaging was stunning and eyeshadows concealers etc were a lovely formula. I’ve not bought anything from them for a long time, I think I’m a bit like you in the fact I’m just not convinced and agree their eyeshadow releases seem dated. I do think the maracuja juicy lips, however were a great idea that many others seem to have followed. X

When I was in my 20s, I would splurge on Estee Lauder lipsticks, and di absolutely love them. Funny how when time flies, they have been off my radar. But these do look beautiful and may be worth returning to. I no longer wear perfumes but this Ignitio does like a beautiful brand. Not buying but can admire from afar. (I wonder if Lisa Eldridge will bring in a concealer to go with her foundation?)

La Vie En Rose was a 6 pan limited edition from PmG three of the shades are in it. My opinion; I do think there was supposed to be a blue included and it was scrapped as I have the subterranean 6 pan le and that “blue” isn’t blue but purple and I think it’s been a consistent issue which is why they don’t release another blue shade.

I love the tones PML stays in (pinks), why I enjoy Dior quints, but I would have preferred them to be different at least in formula the way Dior does, though some might not enjoy the new formulas. I understand though if logistics doesn't allow for that. I am likely going to get the TF quad, and skip on the lipsticks.. TF lipsticks dry my lips out by the end of day :-(

Firstly happy birthday to an amazing lady who brings makeup joy to so many 🎉 Secondly, Initio, be still my beating heart (but I will still wait for your review!). It might be my birthday present to myself as my hubs is replacing the Killian fragrance I spritzed then smashed Christmas morning as my birthday present 🙈 The PM launch was disappointing, I am not a blue type of girl but please give us something more inspiring!
