Just going to put this out here: It is confirmed to be Alaska in the Way of the Hunter discord & in the trailer discription. Kodiac bear, Roosevelt elk and Wood bison together with surf scoters are confirmed as new species in the description of the youtube trailer. Moose and red fox are also confirmed. Total of 14 species, so plenty still to see with what species will be there (With of course the caribou also in the trailer).

It's located on Kodiak Island. It's the only place in AK that has bison, deer, elk, and caribou in the same area. Elk and sitka deer aren't on mainland alaska only on islands and southeast ak.

They Were Awesome In Alaska Adventures, And I Imagine They’ll Be Twice As Awesome If They Come To Aurora Shores. Also Idk If You Saw In The Steam Page But It Did Say That The Bear Was A Kodiak Bear And That The Elk Were In Fact Roosevelt Elk.

@@Flintergaming they could add potentially everything later, apart from giraffes maybe :P the main issue is that by banning the aggressive behaviour in bears and wolves (mainly not to portray a Cabela style cunt of a game, in 2023 :P) they abolished a proper behaviour that takes out most of the thrill and danger of Alaska... Every RL outfitter lists its bear/wolf hunts as DANGEROUS AND CHALLENGING, and so they should be... River and the poor wildlife trooper SHOULD BE POTENTIALLY INJURED OR KILLED

To my knowledge, Roosevelt's elk are the only elk in Alaska to my knowledge, and they are only on a/some island(s). Yeah, Fognak(SP) is the island

It would be really cool if they snuck in muskox, caribou, Dall sheep. I will say the Alaska map will be the money maker map in game since moose, elk, brown and black bear, along with bison means there are a lot of large big game. I think doing much with foxes is silly as wolves would be an easy fit and they already have the assets, but I would love to see wolverines as a tier 4 animal as well as the very large for species Alaska hare (think really big snowshoe hare). As far as waterfowl they they can litterally just use scaulp and "wild ducks" as well as the geese as they are all present up here, But adding ptarmigan to replace the nez perce pheasants would be a nice touch. Honestly from a development perspective I think an alaska map makes sense since they already have the assets for a lot of the animals and some of the other critters like dall sheep or Alaska hare being new would just be a white reskin/size of of current animals, plus things like wolves could be made more interesting by adding different color wolves (all black, white, ect).

A bit hyped for the DLC (especially for the crossbow) but i really hope they improve tracking of wounded animals (shot wounds, wounded behavior) and long range hunting with a high magnification spotting scope and more scope options.

I really want them to add a .338, .470 for bison and backpacks but the backpack won't spook the animals. I use a backpack for white tail deer hunting and it doesn't spook them

the list is confirmed Flint... no guessing :P caribou are in, along with scoters, wolf, fox, Sitka deer and Kodiak brown bear, no grizzly. Plains bison, Alaska moose, mountain goats and elk are also in... obviously they can always add more species, as they did with the jackal before

It really looks like Way of the Hunter's version of Yukon Valley, and I am excited. I feel like it would work very well with how Way of the Hunter functions, and I can't wait to play it.

A southeastern map in the great smoky mountains with elk, turkey, whitetail, rabbit, grouse, fox, wood duck, raccoon, coyote, black bear, hog, maybe quail or doves in farmland would be awesome. Another good idea and one not done in Call of the Wild is South Dakota or southeastern/eastern Montana with a focus an upland game birds and waterfowl such as hungarian partridge, pheasant, quail, mallard, pintail, sharptail, greater and lesser prairie chicken, snow and canada geese among others. An improved waterfowling system would make the game near perfect. Ducks migrating overhead with wind and weather taken into account with decoy and blind placement as well would be amazing but a tall order. Lone bucks would make the game more realistic, especially in a southeastern map. Elk living in grasslands would be an improvement. Turkeys roosting at night and flying down in the morning would be good. An option to make the animals be even more sensitive would make the game much more challenging. A map in Mongolia or Australia should be added for something different. California or Texas/Mexico should be added. Texas/Mexico should have desert mule deer, Coue's whitetail, gould's or Rio Grande turkey, pheasant, javelina, dove, multiple animals I forgot the names of, among others. Coue's deer are much smaller and for the most part should be hard to spot and stay in brush. Florida with Osceola turkey, bobwhite quail, alligator, whitetail, black bear, raccoon, dove, possibly puma, etc. Squirrels to most of these maps would be great and ptarmigan would be good to have in northern maps. I may have left some things out such as pronghorn, bison, and a Great Plains map in Wyoming.

I love it in game but don't use it a lot since the accuracy at range is terrible by comparison to the .300 win. Honestly being able to pay to "accurize" rifles in game would be a great money sink and give players something more to spend money on. The Guide rifle and 1903 are some of my favorite rifle aesthetically in game, and cartridge wise but I end up playing with the most accurate rifles for the tier or just the 7600 more often than not. However I would love if they made a second 30-06 version of the 7600 as that is my tired and true rifle for hunting IRL and .270 is lacking a little in game for consistent heart shots on tier 6 game unless you get the angle just right.

I think it is unlogical for them to release an African map, because if you followed the storyline in the standard map you will find clear clues that African trophies are hidden from sight and clearly regarded to as poached

Hey question for you I’ve been playing way of the Hunter lately and I’ve been running into a problem with some animals I’ve been trying to keep tabs on. It seems some of my 4 stars will just disappear all together and I can’t find them. Currently I’ve been watching a 4 star moose and I went to check his drink zone and he was no where to be seen so I went to the lodge in the bottom right corner of the map and a found a 4 star moose that looks to be him. Do I shoot him now for the chance I don’t see him again or will he go back to his zone? Anybody else know?

They don't go to the exact same zone everytime especially if there is hunting pressure there now as far as whether to shoot it or not I'm not too helpful up to you

I work in Kodiak AK. There are elk on both Afognak and Raspberry island. There is also a herd of bison on the south end of the island. Used for meat

i was hoping for africa This is probably the next best thing Alaska is a sick hunting spot but I just think Africa has more new and cool things that most hunting games don’t have like elephants rhino hippo crocodiles greater kudu zebra giraffe leopard. If you guys see this please take this into consideration because I know many people even content creators feel the same The only thing holding this game back from being better than hunter call of the wild is not enough maps yet and I feel like if you guys add Africa and add animals that Hunter didn’t touch like the ones I named up there I think that so many people would buy this game just for a really good African map and in my opinion that would make this game better than call of the wild because it has some many things that are better and all way of the hunter needs is more maps that aren’t really in other games and an African map with unique animals would be that map

Whatever the other ones are they better be awesome because I'm honestly underwhelmed...I'm sick of North America maps seeming to be the only hunting games want to add anymore. I don't care if Way of the Hunter has a lot of NA animals they need to add. They could have let us go somewhere else at least once first. At least Ultimate Hunting plans to break the streak when it releases
