Hmmm that Gambit is a head scratcher for me, I'm only wanting it for the head sculpt and arms, otherwise this is on the wrong body and I just can't stand for that, I already have a AOA custom Gambit that I have loved for years and trust when I say the proportions on mine are much more appropriate for this character, so idk if I get this it will end up a kitbash/custom, hopefully in hand he comes out better but if I wasn't a die-hard fan I'd pass on this for sure

I’m hoping we get another Gambit from Hasbro but in his Jim Lee design once again, only being fully pinless and on a newer body. Would also like a repaint of the 97 rogue but with her coat being painted brown. I doubt this would happen but it would be dope.

Thanks for the reveal Xmanny. As a paradox we both share our observations on the older bucks on these two, however we differ in our excitement for these characters. I cannot understand the reasoning ML used to produce these figures in these older modified bucks. I agree with you 100% , once a standard is achieved, don't go back. Looks like my wallet will be getting a MUCH needed BREAK after last year's 85th Anniversary..Strange Tales..50th Anniversary Wolverine...& 40th Anniversary Secret Wars waves..i don't have an AOA display..& im holding out for an OG Electro .. either REISSUE or UPGRADE.. unless i see something i really want anannounce during tomorrow's Pulse Stream. If Hasbro does a BAF wave they will pack it with 4 figures that no one wants. Same logic for the 2 and 3 packs. The supposedly "retro" card allows Hasbro to charge a "full price" while saving on the BAF part. For the truly big sized figures, they are either going the Odin route (ideally) or the Dragon man route (bad bad news for non-US collectors who have to be subjected to further price jacks on Hasbro Pulse).

I have never read a story featuring either character so i am not attached at all. The Max Dillon Electro is my second favorite Spider-Man villain. X-men is my second favorite Marvel franchise so I am more interested in seeing a build-a-figure wave from them. If all the figures are on the retro-card, i will may pass on a lot of them that aren't new characters to o my collection. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Is gambit not on the Vulcan buck I mean the x-men 3 pack gambit was so that would make more sense than sunfire also the x-force nightcrawlers technically the aoa nightcrawler. Also I'm not worried about them using this buck for females as long as they use the new "super" articulated one for the agile/fighting ones like spider woman or black cat.

There’s definitely gotta be a reason spidey everytime and X-men half the time are retro cards. I’m sure the higher ups saw that retro cards were almost a guarantee sell. But I think the missed the part that it was the nostalgia and classic figures making them desirable. Introducing “modern” or “movie inspired” cards defeats the purpose and literally takes away the BAF and adds nothing

This Gambit looks terrible IMO. The reuse of Sunfire obv, but that color of brown looks like literal doodoo. Especially without any sort of paint wash, it makes it look like another happymeal toy.
