I experienced similar issue not only with Netflix but also with youtube where the screen flickers when i browse through the video titles. I have a 2017 Sony Bravia KD-65X8500E TV.

The Netflix screen flicker can be solved by turning off auto play preview on netflix website or turning off HDR policy on the tv box display settings.

Thanks for the info.. I try to be as honest and transparent as possible when making these review videos. I've tested literally dozens of streaming devices on that TV and never had that happen before. I ended up trying it on another TV and didn't have the problem, but since most people won't know how to do the things you mentioned, I felt they should see it "as is".

Hola, en relación a lo que mencionas del parpadeo en Netflix en el minuto 5.53, prueba de desactivar en el Mecool la opción HDR, en mi caso me pasó en una plataforma de juegos y me hacía lo mismo cuando recorría la lista de juegos, desactivé el HDR y se resolvió y la imagen sigue siendo muy buena.

Thanks for the review. I got one and I like the way it has plenty of memory. However, I used downloader to download a zip file to copy to an external usb drive, to install in my kodi build. I learned that apparently because is Android 11, I can't move from Downloader App to an external drive. I installed XFiles, and other file apps with no success. Any solution is welcome. Thanks.

Mecool KM2 PLUS HDR error My device is always on HDR setting but HDR is not working on TV and Netflix and other HDR movie file. I Notice that when KM2 plus started it is confused with Dolby vision and Change to 4k normal resolution. Any help?

BUT you can't write movie files to that USB thumb drive due to Storage Access Framework issue!!!

You can watch movies from a usb drive but not to delete them. Other than that you can copy them from usb to internal storage.

I noticed a comment below indicating the MeCool box will not play movies/TV from a USB drive? My intention was to not only use the box for streaming services but to play movies/TV from an external Hard Drive. Will I be able to play content from a USB connected hard drive?

You did this whole video and didn't even get to the non tv controls issue. It's now Dec 2023..and it still hasn't received an update to fix this issue. I just bought the device a week ago...was disappointed that when trying to set up the tv with the box It failed to connect to the Google server...3x I'm a row. That's enough for me to know that yes android tv will be the exchange for the firesticks if the Vega changes the game....but it won't be with this device. Nvidia..here I come...I will need 3!! Ouch.

Hello. A help who knows. I have a problem with Mecool KM2 plus. Yesterday I was watching a series and I pressed pause to continue it today. And a while ago I went to see her and the TV box was closed without having closed it yesterday, I had left it open. I unplugged all the cables (mouse, internet cable) Nothing. It does not open. Only a blue light on the box lights up, nothing else Can you please tell me how to open it? How to do it hard reset?

That's very odd. If you unplugged and replugged in the power cord, maybe your TVs input changed from the HDMI port you connected it on? Use your TVs remote to go through all the HDMI inputs. Let me know how you make out.

@Angels Wings I'm not sure about the KM2 Plus and can't check because I gave mine away, but some of these boxes have a hidden button inside the AV port. If you carefully/gently push a toothpick or matchstick in the AV port (with the power off) See if you feel a click like a button approximately 1 inch inside. If you do, that's the reset button. Hold that in while plugging the power.in to get into restore mode. Then use the remote to scroll down to "erase and factory reset ". If you don't have that button, (for example my KM7Plus doesn't), I don't think there is another way if you can't get a display. I have asked my contacts at MeCool. If I get a better answer, I will let you know. Good luck!
