Welcome to my first playthrough of Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I love medieval RPGs and wanted to play KCD for a while now. I know the combat is very different, but I hope it's not gonna be too hard to master. There are so many choices and ways the game can go, it's all super exciting. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a 2018 action role-playing video game developed by Warhorse Studios and published by Deep Silver. The game is set in the medieval Kingdom of Bohemia, an Imperial State of the Holy Roman Empire, with a focus on historically accurate content. The story takes place during a war in Bohemia in 1403, in the times of King Wenceslaus IV. On the orders of Hungarian king Sigismund, half-brother of Wenceslaus, Cuman mercenaries raid the mining village of Skalitz, a major source of silver. One of the survivors of the resulting massacre is Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Destitute and vengeful, Henry joins the service of Lord Radzig Kobyla, who leads a resistance movement against Sigismund's invasion. As Henry pursues justice for his murdered family, he becomes involved in an effort to restore Bohemia's rightful king, Wenceslaus, to the throne

About an hour ago, I watched a video from a streamer who has an early review key for KCD2. He wasn’t a huge fan of the original KCD, but he’s absolutely in love with the sequel. He praised the game for its industry-wide innovations, not just improvements over the first game. For example, talking to NPCs from a distance without stopping, just like in real life, and combat that’s far more fluid with natural combos that feel completely intuitive. At the same time, the combat system still provides plenty of room for mastery, catering to those who want to dive deeper into it. He also highlighted how pubs now function as real information hubs where everyone talks about what’s happening, shouting over one another like in a real pub (with subtitles above their heads, so it’s not too hard to follow). He described the UI/UX as absolutely brilliant. And this is coming from someone who didn’t consider the original KCD one of his favorite games-yet he loves this one. I already love KCD, so I’ll probably go completely crazy over KCD2! xD

I backed this project on Kickstarter and completely fell in love with the game when it finally released. Glad to see so many people rediscovering it now with the sequel about to come out. I will admit, it can get frustrating to see people stumble through the mechanics, but I appreciate how you took your time and reasoned your way through it, instead of getting frustrated with the game as many others have. You're clearing an RPG vet! Completely agree with your Oblivion comp, btw.

Glad to see you starting this game! There's a number of voice actors in the English dub who also worked on STALKER2. I think if you stick with it, you'll have a LOAD of fun with KCD. Bit of a history lesson also: the Cuman-Kipchak confederacy actually has some interesting ties to Georgia. They're a nomadic group of ethnicities from the Eurasian steppes. At their height, their confederation stretched even as far as Russia. They speak Turkic languages and while Georgia was never fully within their realm, they would have had frequent interactions with the Kingdom of Georgia and were mostly peaceful with them. Kipchaks in particular moved there somewhat often because the Georgians recruited their help to fight off the Seljuk Turks. The Cumans and Kipchaks were a mix of native Tengrists and also Christian, so they managed to establish relationships politically due to the Seljuks being Islamic invaders instead of fellow Christians like we see with the wars between powers in Western Europe where politics and kingdom building were more the focus. The Georgian king David IV, known as The Builder, is responsible for keeping the Kipchaks as Georgian allies.

1:10:45 ... Swords actually aren’t that heavy, which makes sense-you need to swing them easily, carry them around all the time, etc. They wight about 1.2 - 1.5 Kg witch is about the weight of full watter bottle.

@@jsonkody Funny enough many games portray the Zweihander as an insanely heavy sword, when in reallity its not that heavy at all, its very elegant.

As someone who's practiced with a longsword, I can tell from experience that it can get still very tiring on your arms swinging them for long enough, especially if you're not used to it.

I'm at around 3 days total played on steam and I am just now getting the hang of fighting to where when I get ambushed on the road I can't wait to fight them every time. They used to stop a scared Henry, but now they instantly regret it.

It's a really great game which is not supposed to get rushed through, the player is supposed to enjoy the immersion. Just remember when combat seems too frustrating; It's not just you who have to become better, it's literally Henry who has to learn.

It can't be overstated enough on the need to practice, practice and then practice some more every chance you get with Captain Bernard a little further into the story. Fights at first will seem frustrating and unfair but it's meant to be that way.

This game is a definite rough gem. Has some jankiness to it for sure and not a game for everyone, but it does really offer something quite unique. And the atmosphere is just amazing, I love traversing the countryside in this game.

I've played this three times and this was the first time I learned to sword fight properly, I've always cheesed my way through it with a bow. If I'd figured out I was one step away from being good at it it would have made my previous efforts more fun. Just learn perfect block and riposte from the trainer and you can survive long enough to get the hang of the combat, then it comes quite fast.

17:21 - The dialogue tutorial specifically instructs you not to just pick the option with the highest stat, but to take into account who you're talking to and what you're going to say. I'm only saying this because you seem to be basing your choices on the stats later on.

Nice you are playing one of my most favorite games ! You will be hard pushed to complete the main story before the sequel is launched on February 3rd though. But maybe it's a good thing you start playing and uploading videos of KCD II after is out for a bit, so that players like me can watch you play it more or less spoiler free after we already played it.

Yes, about time someone actually takes the time to read and explore all possible dialogue options, I have seen so many playthroughs that just skip through them not realizing that actually reading and continuing conversations gives speech exp. Not to mention can also give clues and information as well as expand on the events taking place during this time period in history. Edit: You can actually hit one of the Cumans with Sir Radzig's Sword, but if you distract them that way, I suggest you turn and immediately run to a horse because at this point Henry is a noob and would be owned by 1 Cuman, let alone 3 (or the 10-13 that eventually do show up if you dilly dally around too long). As you found whistling works also as a distraction to lure them away from Teresa. Edit 2: Lol, I can't help it...gonna tease a little.... Who gets into bed with shoes on? duh!! *goes to bedchamber and proceeds to get into be without unequipping clothes and shoes*

Talking to NPCs seems to add more dialogue options so it makes things more interesting :D I reloaded Cuman part 10 times. It was so annoying 😭

@@MiniMaritsa yeah, Henry is a useless git at the start no matter how good you are, the game is designed to be that way. Until you complete training later on and learn how to do combos, perfect blocks, and master strikes to say that you are at a disadvantage is an understatement of epic proportions.

In reference to the swords weight, that design is roughly 2.5lbs, they're not very heavy in the slightest. Even a giant 6ft long claymore is under 6lbs, sword fights are extremely deadly and fast for this very reason.

@@MiniMaritsa I don't know how far you have gotten but using the bow is not has hard as people say. If you have any experience playing other games that you have to shoot anything, it will come to you. You just actually have to take time and practice. People these days do not have the patience to practice to figure it out. I have spent the time and there is an achievement you can get to prove you have learned it well. If you understand the idea of "sight picture" you will figure it out. And with the fight with Kunesh you actually want to lose it.

All I can say is conserve your stamina, don't let yourself get surrounded and run away if necessary, this game save system works differently, you need an actual potion that is not cheap and hard to make, so if you die you might lose several minutes if not hours of gameplay, otherwise its last checkpoint! Pick your fights well, cheat, sneak, attack from behind anything to get you on top, cause the enemy won't spare you even on normal mode you gonna struggle sometimes. The more you play the better you become tho and once you lvl up you'll be able to survive way more and deal a lot of damage.

I don't know where the myth that swords weigh a lot came from, because in reality they weigh about 1.5 kilograms. Due to the good balance, they are comfortable to fight with, a good sword will have a center of gravity at a distance of 1 palm from the hilt, this is achieved by this thing that my father put on the hilt at the end, it's called an “apple” and it serves as a counterweight. But the armor, yes, it weighs a lot, my set of armor that I fought in real life in tournaments weighed about 25 kilograms and that's without chain mail, because it's not very effective and very heavy
