Mat, I would love to see a comparison of the EQS vs the EQS SUV. Which rides better, which has better suspension etc. The reason is that many times the EQS has such low ground clearance, the bottom scrapes a bit due to it being a long wheelbase. My only apprehension of not diving in. But the EQS 580 Sedan vs the EQS 580 SUV (or like for like engines) would make a great video as I'm sure a lot of people would want to see this comparison - even though they are two different car segments.

@tomi8323 жыл бұрын
@Adrian so "all the sensors are there"....and? I can put 100 cameras with 50 ultra sonic sensors and 360 degrees LiDAR. So what? Do they have the software to run that? Tesla has around 5 billion miles of data right now, from what I remember, and they are the closest ones yet. The one next after them is Waymo with around 40 million miles today, I think (they had 30 in 2019). So I have no idea how you think that Mercedes somehow figured it out, and didn't even show anything if the vehicle truly can drive itself. No one I've seen even talked about them having the sensors. Having the sensors doesn't mean anything, if you don't have the software for that. Tesla is the closest to that, and they don't have it yet. So sorry, but I don't think that the EQS can drive itself at all, maybe TACC in highways or even lane-assist, but everyone has that.
@Alex-17503 жыл бұрын
Same , but him wearing a mask immediately rang some bells
@tomi8323 жыл бұрын
@Adrian first of all, where exactly is the "missing legal foundation everywhere"? It's bullshit from you, or from the marketing team, I'll explain why later. Secondly, I did search, yet I found almost nothing. The only new thing in the EQS (all the assist features are level 2 and aren't new) is that they claim they'll have level 3 system....that's it, not info beside that. Where? Only in Germany. And that's why I said that it's bullshit that it's because of legality. In the USA for example, you literally have Waymo with Robotaxis who have level 4 systems and don't have drivers in them. You seriously think that the EQS doesn't have it's level 3 system in the USA because of legal problems? Pff. It's because they have a system which uses HD maps to navigate that they made themselves, like Waymo, like Huawei, like Ford, like GM. Nothing special here, it's something that half the companies have now at the very least, and mainly those that won't have anything more than level 3 maybe 4 for some of them for specific reasons (like Waymo). You can't achieve level 5 with that, because you'd have to pre-map every single road out there in the world. That's why Tesla is different, and no one is near Tesla's level on autonomous driving, no matter what fancy words they say and claim. Tesla has a machine learning AI which can drive in any road, no matter how much it knows about it - if at all. You can use it anywhere in the world, and it would work. Waymo's for example, have enough data to be level 4 at specific pre-mapped locations - but they would never be level 5 like that, and they don't try to. They wanna be level 4 and have robotaxi systems in big cities in the USA, that will drive in pre-mapped area. Same for GM and Ford, they just have some coded systems with pre-mapped highways where you can activate their systems and they vehicle will "drive itself" by keeping in-lane and sometime change lanes. Mercedes seems like pretty much the same thing. Pre-mapped areas, coded system, probably if not definitely only highways. Calling it level 3 doesn't change that it's nowhere near "driving itself" like you try to claim. I don't say that it's bad, it's great to have it and maybe a better system in the future that would be level 4/5, but calling a level 3 system "a vehicle that can drive itself" is a bit exaggerating because level 3 is really far behind level 4/5, which are true autonomous driving since you don't require a driver, and at those levels it could do almost if not just everything.
