Thanks to improved environmental sensors, the parking systems give the driver even better support when manoeuvring at low speed. Operation is faster and more intuitive thanks to integration into MBUX. The optional rear-axle steering is integrated into the parking assistants, with the calculation of trajectories adapted accordingly. Emergency braking functions primarily serve to protect other road users. The driver can park and unpark the car via smartphone with remote parking assist. Operation has been simplified considerably. If specified with preinstallation for the INTELLIGENT PARK PILOT, the S-Class is prepared for Automated Valet Parking (AVP, SAE Level 4). In conjunction with the necessary optional equipment and the corresponding Connect service (depending on country), the new S-Class has the onboard technology to enter and leave multi-storey car parks equipped with an AVP infrastructure in highly automated mode and without a driver, provided that national legislation permits such operation.
As standard, the S-Class is equipped with Active Parking Assist with a reversing camera, and on request this can be combined with a 360° camera. In the S-Class, all the information from all sensors and cameras is fusioned. This enables more parking spaces to be recognised and offered. Parking spaces defined by lines (not by vehicles) can also be used for automated parking for the first time.

It does not matter if the gap is small, as long as it fits, the assistant parks the car without problems, makes the necessary corrections. My mother bought a VW T-Roc, which has this technology and parks without problem

Of course this high class cars have better sensors and I think this sensors detect the place much faster and I think they could park with great precision if the gap is small

@@javierperezjp2025 My issue is with 0:24 specifically. If there had been a car in the front spot the Mercedes wouldve hit it like this. It went across the other spot by quite a lot. In normal parking spaces I dont think this car can actually park itself.

​@@Datoda The sensors do not take into account the white lines. They only collect information from the environment. If there was a car parked the sensor would detect the back of the car. They are sensors that detect obstacles at a distance of up to 1.5 meters

So diagonal driving or a little kick in the rear for turning. I think it’s easy enough to parallel park in one go I’m pretty good in a manual car now actually no need to brag tho.. How about, Make a car that the wheels turn 180°, Make it fully electric allowing more space in the front and rear so the wheel can turn with enough room. До конца даже не досмотрел, хватило начала... подьехал, встал, потом только поворотник загорелся, и начал парковаться🤦во дворах еще можёт быть и проканает такая медлительность, а в остальном я бы сам надавал по рогам зс несвоевременное включение поворотника как минимум. И вообще , с такими ноухау превращаемся в обезьян...

@Canal West You are right, because it is a Mercedes, people think that is a good car. First of all, 2018 Audi A6( 1 category smaller from the s class), has rear wheel steering, and a 2014 VW Tiguan has automatic parking feature. They've just put a big screen there. Also, the new S Class looks more like a sports car than a luxury car(which it is supposed to be
