Is the V10 something you think the boating industry needs?

Yes. V10's (and 5 cylinders) are objectively the best sounding engines because unlike all other reciprocating piston engines they produce a perfect fifth root note. With a marine engine that is spending a lot of time at a fixed RPM a more pleasing root note will make a big difference.

Looking forward to comparision on a 34 Costa with the V-10 400 vs 450's. Then a quad 300R vs 350's and 400 V-10's.

I hope you misspoke about the alternator? A 150 watt alternator works out to 10 amps @15 volts. Hardly enough power to run the electric steering and charging the starting battery. Could you possibly mean 150 amps?
