This place is so fun. NM isn’t my favorite place but some stuff here is fun. But the Rattler is the loudest roller coaster I’ve ever heard in my life.

I love wooden roller coasters. This one is actually quite good. A few things to note. Don't let the size fool you, it's a lot more thrilling than you think. The drops are a lot steeper in real life, the camera doesn't seem to capture the field of view like a human eye does. That first drop if you are in the very last car, you will have massive floajector airtime. You're up to your knees until you bottom out if you don't let the ride ops staple you in and you take that pointless "feel better" seatbelt off. Yes, it's jarring, this is a twister out and back hybrid rollercoaster, and it has a lot of laterals, if that detracts from your fun, you don't need to be riding wooden rollercoasters. But it doesn't jack hammer and actually goes over it's track very well. This is my favorite way to ride this ride. Get in the very last seat, yes the wheel seat. It's jarring but man it makes up for it with the floajector and ejector airtime. Be relaxed and loose in your seat, you'll feel less pain from the jarring. Embrace it. Most of hte ops at this park do not staple, so pull your lap bar down just enough so you cannot stand up all the way, but you can end up just above your knees. Fasten the "feel better" seat belt just to appease the ride ops, and then during the lift undo it. Trust me, coaster restraints act on natural physic laws, and will not fail, they are locks. You will get awesome floajector airtime during that first drop and some awesome ejector during the ride.

***** The cars probably have paper-thin pieces of plastic that hit the tracks, which causes a rattling sound. Get it, "rattler," that's probably a reference to the snake and the snake's signature sound. It's an old amusement park trick, but it adds a fun effect.

As a citizen here, the reason it is called the rattler is 1. The noises (what you said) and 2. It shakes you around so much! It kind of strains your neck but its worth it. The fireball is great as well! The fireball is just a loop but in the seat you hang upside down! Its soooo fun.

My friend Victor, the seat belt person didn't even check his seatbelt. It got loose in the beginning. He had to hold the belt one handed and the other hand on the bar. He was bouncing EVERYWHERE

I remember there being an "Uncle Cliff's" amusement park in NM back when I lived there (80's). Is this the same 1 renamed or is it a completely different park?

Jamie Ramone Its the same park. Uncle Cliff's became Cliff's, but some people still call it Uncle Cliff's. The original owners, Cliff and Zella, retired and their daughter took ownership of the park. According to Wikipedia, "They wanted to take out the kiddie emphasis because bigger attractions were being added and wanted it reflected in the name."
