This is exactly how my mom used to make it. Brings back memories. Old school cooking from NM. No facy add-ins needed. ❤

I really enjoy your videos! And because of this, I have finally joined KZbin and you are my first subscribe, YAY! That being said, my Mami would make this a lot when we were growing up. She called it papa y caldo. Because there were eight of us children, the Chile was always on the side so we could add as much or as little as we wanted. And we also had fresh made bread to dip in the caldo! God’s Blessings on you and yours!

Happy Heavenly Birthday to your Dad. That looks amazing, I grew up in Albuquerque and there is nothing like New Mexican cooking. Thank goodness there is a way for me to order red and green chile as I live out of state now. I will make this soon, you've got me craving it. Simple ingredients with a fantastic taste. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us!!

I grew up in New Mexico. You are conjuring memories. That accent and inflection is unmistakably New Mexican. "don't be conceited" "bueno-bye"

I love how creative you get in that part of the country with the local ingredients. I've had fantastic green chile eggs benedict as well as green chile apple pie there.
