The timing is not there yet, probably because the cardio is not there either. It will improve. In the past, Mike would start bobing/weavinb BEFORE lauching an attack. Now he attacks THEN bob/weave. That allows his opponent to lock on target and hit him while Mike is coming in, like at 2:06 where he eats 3 punches coming in for not faking/being deceptive enough. I suspect it is because he's tired. Being tired makes you "lazy". Bobing/weaving/faking is tiresome... and when you're tired, you'll neglect it.

Living legend or not, at 58 your ability to heal from repeated blows to the head is greatly reduced, fighting past 50 is a recipe for CTE. But fighters have known this since it was called "punch drunk" and not so well understood. Taking hard punches in sparing at Mike’s age and length of career makes no sense. His punch resistance will be a lot lower than when he was younger. Paul probably won’t land many punches anyway, plus he isn’t a power puncher. I personally feel Mike has far too much experience for Paul who is (at best) a novice pro. I don’t think the age will be that much of a factor, bearing in mind Mike boxing IQ.
