Although this basic design has been around for a while, broken at times, this has got to be one of the best tutorials, brief and to the point. I've adapted the design by doubling the number of composters, then replacing four composters, two each end, with smokers. Now there are autocrafters the smokers are self refuelling and provide a source of fuel for smelters. Also to reduce the width I've built the timer into the wall of the 'machine'. Please keep up the good work.

@@fernandojoseraquel9150 Not quite sure what you're asking but theroreticially doubling up the composters halves the time of processing, the items that are compostable, to bone meal. 4 composters should divide the time by 4 and so on. Hope this answers your question.

Unfortunately, when this breaks, as it inevitably does every once in a while, a farm this size will pose serious problems restoring. I've reduced it over the years to a 4 unit max, making it easy to fix without having to take the farm apart because sand somewhere in the middle glitched out.

@@denios36 You're right of course about it breaking. As regards the sand glitching out, I've taken that into account with my build and left a tunnel underneath, in conjunction with my auto crafters, so access to any fallen sand is easily accessible.

You’re incorrect. People have been commenting “This is now broken” ever since 1.16 🤣. Just loaded up a fresh world, used ChunkBot, and it works like a charm. Edit: Wow, would you look at that. I may be incorrect for once haha. Seems console is indeed having issues. My bet is a patch in the latest release accidentally changed the way the farm works. Most likely when an official release comes out it will be fixed. But to say “its patched” is incorrect since it’s working for Windows & Mobile.. which is what a majority of the community uses. Will update my comment once I have more info

Yes same for me, I have broke and rebuilt it step by step TWO times and it is no longer working, been using it a couple weeks and has always worked very well and never had any issues or just small ones from reloading and just replaced some sand and always worked but not working now. Every time you tune it on the sand falls through the pistons. May be a fix but I am not sure, any suggestions? @minermends

yeah, i have 4 on pc. they've worked with the sand/sticky piston combo consistently. the new update dropped and now the sand breaks because it is not being held by the sticky piston, the mechanics for sand and sticky pistons have been altered, and now sand breaks, so farms like this will not work unless it gets patched.

For chunks, chunkbase seed map is a good all around tool to use for anything related to the map! If you put you x and z coordinates, underneath the map it will tell the 2 diagonal chunks borders. Ex something like “chunk (170/-46) from *(2,720/-736) to (2,735/-721),* from there it’s very easy to pinpoint the rest of the corners. Good if you want to use other chunkbase tools :3

Hold shift (or whatever your crouch key is) while placing whatever you need to on anything that can be interacted with, like when you needed to place the composters on top of the hoppers. Good for any situations where blocks aren't in a similar placement if you can't or don't want to use temporary blocks.

You do realize on Bedrock this doesn’t exist right? Also technically ChunkBot is still better even for Java since the visual chunk border goes to the edge of the block. ChunkBot gets you straight to the centers, each corner, and also locates villages, outposts, slime chunks, saves homes, measures coordinates.. I mean there is is a reason over 118,000 people use the bot.

I tried for like 3 hours to get this to work. I just gave up afterward. It worked for about 30 minutes then the kelp just kept braking. I'm not built on a chunk border, and i never left the chunk. I tried abunch of different things to fix it but nothing worked. It just keeps braking the kelp as soon as I turn it on.

Never quit, thats bad mentality. Did you use ChunkBot to locate the ChunkBot Borders/Centers, or did you manually calculate? This happened for me as a group of pistons in sync were temporarily breaking the water and that killed the kelp. I fixed it by running the redstone line to the top pistons through a repeater for every other piston. That meant the pistons were out of sync and the water never broke.

It was workin great for a week then the sand started to hop when the pistons moved. I reset the sand and water but the sand now hops when it runs. It didn't when it first ran. Sand was still and it moved kelp. Now when it runs sand hops and kept comes off sand...can you tell me how to fix please

Just sounds like something wasn’t built correctly. Hard to say what exactly as it could be a list of 10+ problems haha.. I’d recommend watching my “Zero-Tick Fix” video. If that doesn’t work, rewatch the video. Just take your time with it. Use ChunkBot for the chunks.

Ok I built this farm in a 1.20 world in the past and wanted to add it to my new 1.21 world I followed every step I mapped out the chunk and it’s just not working. Either all the kelp just breaks or it just sits there and runs with no kelp going into the composters. I checked to see if the sand on the sticky pistons fell but it didn’t. Everything is working how it should it’s just not producing more kelp. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be wrong?

Zero tick farms still work. If the sand broke make sure you replace all of it. The kelp doesnt need to grow the zero tick just breaks the kelp without it breaking it. I didnt build his but the principle is the same. I am sitting at mine right now and its working fine.​@abdulaemhimed2139

You can get away with your Chunk being wrong with this farm (sometimes), but with the 2-in-1 system you need to be 100% accurate. Does the Y level matter with chunks? I have the outline of the horizontal 16x16 space, but I don't want it too break due to it being between two 16 high vertical sections of the chunk Edit: It doesn't seem to matter, this works great! Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial, I recommend building this (and every farm) in creative first to get a good idea of what you're doing.

Y level will not change it. Well actually.. technically there is Chunk theory and specific spots within a chunk are “good” and “bad” spots. But this only matters for “Zero-Ticking across borders”. And is insanely complex.

Rebuilding doesn’t do anything. If the sand fell just replace it correctly and it will work again.

I haven’t fixed it yet but I think I found the problem my pistons and sticky pistons are in sync I broke off my lever and torch and replaced now they alternate I hope it’s my issue

I just had the same issue and it never occurred to me to break the lever and then put it back. That also fixed mine. Another issue I had previously is the first time mine broke my signs broke and was in a hopper. It took me a while to notice they were missing. If anyone is continually having issues then please save yourself some time and check every single hopper, not just a few. If anything is in there besides what is supposed to be it might be a clue as to what needs to be repaired and what went wrong.😂 Mine is working now mostly. I do have a small area on my far left that a few things of kelp keep building up and never flow into the hopper. But when the machine is off, it appears the water is the same as I see in the video. I will keep a watch and see if I can find the issue but it is still making a lot of bonemeal and I do have a dried kelp project so the extra 2 or 3 stacks of kelp on top of the many stacks of bonemeal does feel nice. Even tho it ahoukd be feeding into that one hopper.

Wish this farm actually worked. Worked until one kelp randomly broke, after replacing it the entire farm just instantly breaks as soon as I turn it on.

Your comment is just spreading false information. The farm works, I’ve built hundreds of these. You did it wrong. Go back and do it again. You were given more than enough information in the video.

Yeah and 90% of those people end up joining our Discord, and complaining.. Then I join their world; and guess what? They made a mistake! Even despite telling me they didn’t. The farm works, and has worked since 1.16. As a developer myself who has diagnosed Chunks, and Zero-Ticking, and even developed my own software to get around it, I don’t appreciate someone stating false claims. And maybe instead of dissing an entire game, you can just let people play the game they wanna play. And if its for the “birds”, why couldn’t you figure it out? If the farm turns on, then breaks instantly (human error somewhere in the build). If the farm turns on, then 1-2 pieces of kelp break after some time, move the build on the opposite X and Z axis or put the repeater on 3 ticks. Also, some Chunks act differently than others. Zero-Ticking at the end of the day is an exploit, it’s a bug, aka it can be seen as cheating, since it wasn’t designed to be in the game (at least not in this way). Java patched it, Bedrock probably will in the future. There could be a lot of reasons as to why it’s not working. Which is why its best to join the Discord and be apart of our community, we don’t name call or point fingers or end with “it doesn’t work”, we resolve and get it done. It shouldn't be burning out. I've actually never heard of that happening before. Perhaps your redstone is wired incorrectly and its reversing back from the torches into itself?

It's funny I didn't have any sponges and only got some After figuring out how to stop that from happening. Obviously the kelp still needs to be replaced occasionally but I haven't had any problems with the new design as far as water breaking things.
