Ordered one last week as my first airbrush. Been building models for about 50 years, but never dove into airbrushing. Can't wait to get started!!! Great review!

Thanks for giving us a good example of what this airbrush can do with fine-lines, etc with a sheet of paper! Other reviewers just spray large areas like spoons, which doesn't give us a good indication of its atomization, trigger control, spray consistency and fine-detailing. Mega kudos! Very friendly reminder: Tamiya is a Japanese name, so it's pronounced tah-mee-yah.

Hi, well done video... excellent explanation, I wanted to ask are the duse gaskets made of Teflon? Thank you 🙏🏼
@Mannysscalemodeling7 ай бұрын
Thank you Alberto!! There is a Teflon in where the cup goes and one on the nozzle. Your welcome!

How is this airbrush compared to the GSI Creos PS-289 (if you've used that one)?
@Mannysscalemodeling10 ай бұрын
Hi DeeeFoo hows it going? I have never used that air brush before, I was strictly Iwata air brushes. Since ive switched to Gaahleri air brushes they are all I use now. The Mobius 0.3mm is awesome! A few features I like are the removable paint cup, the new trigger shape and being able to adjust the tension on the trigger. Very comfortable when air brushing. Highly recemented! Thank you for your question.

I have both the Mobius 0.3mm and the PS-289. The PS-289 is a better airbrush, it just atomizes so much better than the Gaahleri and is more consistent with trigger control. That said, I prefer the nozzle design of the Mobius over the 289 simply for ease of cleaning and I love the mirror finish on the cup. My Mobius has an issue where the air is always on. The machining near the air valve is sloppy and causes the pin to stay depressed. I am glad to see that Gaahleri attached the trigger guide to the needle guide on the Mobius. Their cheaper airbrushes have these pieces separate, which makes it a PITA to deal with when the trigger guide falls out. The Mobius is a nice airbrush, but it feels like an upgraded cheap chinese airbrush. It's hard to explain, but you can just feel the difference between the Mobius and something like an Iwata or H&S. The biggest difference is in the trigger control. Airflow is either on or off, there is no gradient for the air. Trigger control is not as precise or predictable as my Iwata Revolution or my Patriot 105. I do not feel as confident when using the Mobius as I do with the PS-289 or Iwata Revolution, or even the Badger Patriot 105. Maybe that will change once I get used to it. I paid $71.50 with shipping for the Mobius. I paid $95 for my Patriot 105 with 2 needle size conversion kits, so i have 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 options. I could buy a new Patriot 105 for $80. At the sale price I do not regret purchasing the Mobius, but if the price goes up, I probably would recommend something else. I will say this. I have so far purchased 3 Gaahleri airbrushes. All 3 had some type of quality issue (air valve not working, cup threads were stripped, and burrs on the side of the opening the trigger sits in), but Gaahleri has bent over backwords to accomodate me. I do like this company and hope they can give the big guys something to worry about.

@@mfarlow Hey Mark thank you for you info! Gaahleri definitely take care of any isuess with there air brushes and awesome customer service! I my self have not had any issues with mine I now have 8 Gaahleri air brushes. Thats all I had was Iwata air brushes for everything that I used to do and had 8 of them, low end to the top end models, and now I just use Gaahleri. I do know that after air brush reviews that I have seen on the Mobius 0.3mm and the 0.2mm from other modelers and artists, Gaahleri has addressed some of the small issues with them in the new Mobius 0.3mm and 0.2mm air brushes. I just received the new Mobius 0.2mm air brush the other day and will be doing a review and air brushing some flames on a model soon. I know the trigger response on my Mobius 0.3mm is dead on for me. Im sure with some break in time and like you said using it more you will enjoy it even more. Thank you!
