NEW Mod That Gives Huge FPS Boost in Stalker 2

Hey, thank you so much for the shoutout! As of today, I've removed Main and only left Base, Peak, Potato and Ultra. The differences between Main and Base via FPS aren't very noticeable, but there is no more visual degradation that happens, same applies for Peak (If you re-enable everything shown in the ReadMe). The 80 > 180fps screenshot was on Mid with everything disabled, so if you put the Peak 3 Engine.ini into the folder, you'll notice some pretty serious graphical drawbacks, but the fps should be nearly 2x as high. I also used Frame Generation, which is no longer problematic with this Engine.ini if you want to test that. You should check your frametimes too when you get a moment, as you'll see a dramatic decrease in spikes and a lot more consistency when turning your mouse compared to no mod. I do update the mod several times a day, so please be aware of that :p

​@@TheBrick534 this is by far the fastest performance mod, that blows all other ones out of the water :p I did PM the creators of "Optimized Tweaks S.2 - Reduced Stutter Mouse Fix Improved Performance Lower Latency" and "Ultimate Engine Tweaks (Anti-Stutters - More Performance - Lower Latency - Better Clarity - Lossless)" on how to improve their performance, so maybe you won't need to choose mine over either of theirs for long. Mine should also have the least likelihood of crashing, due to how few things are changed.

Yep, the Main version of this mod for performance and Omega modpack with Mutant Loot for gameplay/QoL is probably the best experience you can get with STALKER 2 right now.

Just for comparisons sake, im running an i7 8086 oc’d to 4ghz. 3070ti 8gb, 16gb ram. When I first fired up the game I set everything to epic. DLSS on set to DLAA. I was amazed at how well it played. Smooth with very little input lag. However all that changed when I arrived in Zalyissa. FPS tanked to 5/6fps. For the past day I’ve tried a few of the different “performance fix mods” on the Nexus. A couple of Engine.ini files/edits. Installed the latest reshade and tweaked the profile. Generally the game now runs smooth and snappy but I still suffer from seemingly random, intermittent chugging. It sometimes goes away on its own after a minute or so. Other times I have to quick load, then sometimes I have to shut the game down and re launch entirely. Even had to reboot the pc once today to fix it. There’s a fine line currently between playable framerates, acceptable input delay/lag, and a clean acceptable image vs a blurry ghosting mess. In between all the testing and tweaking and reloading I am having a blast playing. Just the random chugging SUCKS

So it looks like it is Lumen that tanks the FPS. Lumen resolution looks to be lower with this setting. I wonder if FPS would be better if they implemented a hardware accelerated G.I. instead of software based lumen.

This was insane for me - before I was averaging 40-50 FPS, dipping to low 40s/high 30s in buildings. Now I'm around 100 fps outside, dipping to 80 in buildings! I can actually play the game that I've been hyped about for 2 years now!

A recommendation, hair is a performance hog and most people recommend keeping it on low-medium (medium if you get white hairs issue)

For me, Frame Generation pushed the fps from 50-70 to 120 capped with no dips. It was a godsend. But Ive heard some people have input lag with FG enabled, I dont have any issues tho.

Of your fps is already around 60fps frame gen will feel good, but if you have low frame rate ( like less than 30) you will feel latency of movement ,

I think you need a 40-series graphics card to be able to use Frame Generation without getting lots of input lag.

ryzen 5 5700x3d and 2070s. It definitely helps. In some areas im seeing as much as 20fps boost but realistically its giving me generally about 5-10 fps boost when it matters (over any of the other optimized tweaks mods ive tried). Best unofficial patch so far

FYI Nvidia Reflex was off by default for me which is under Display Settings. Having this on fixes the Frame Generation input lag for me.

It doesn't totally fix it, it just decreases the amount of input delay you have; which by the way is still there.

I got rid of the input delay and stuttering by disabling v-sync, g-sync and (ironically) the low latency mode in the Nvidia settings (though it was probably just the sync options), but the game does run like mud still and no mods have made any improvement, but I'll give this one a go I guess.

There must just be something wrong with my game. I installed both the Base and then the Peak to compare and not only do I still stutter and freeze just as bad with Base, but Peak ran even worse despite disabling more settings and looking worse.

If we could disable Lumen we would get atleast a 5x increase as Stalker 2 is in UE 5.0-5.2 it has HUGE problems with lumen that is not fixed until UE 5.5, so right now the light shafts are bouncing and doing those calculations wich bogs down systems. But i guess people will figure this out the long and hard way.

Hey, if you download the Peak version, that's exactly what I did. Virtual shadows and Lumen are completely gone.

It is better when you cap. It significantly helps with framtimes which is a big part of the game feeling smooth. Hugh fps with bad frame times feels laggy or unresponsive.

this is the best optimization mod out there so far and the author constantly updates the file to optimize it further. I went from 90 fps in open areas with frame gen enabled and high-epic settings to 105 fps, those 15-20 bonus fps made all the difference for the latency caused by frame gen. As for the populated intensive areas like the villages, i used to drop as low as 40 WITH frame gen on, no matter the settings due to really low gpu and cpu utilization, now i maintain 60-80 fps there and the visual difference is near impossible to spot without a side by side comparisson and literally actively looking for it.

People with high end PC’s are having issues. The devs like other new released games haven’t optimised it well and just throw DLSS for us to get more frames, very poor. Engine is also a poor choice for open world. It joins the list with Starfield, Cyberpunk, Dragons Dogma 2 etc etc…

This mod ACTUALLY works. I tweaked it a slight bit because the lighting was just too bad by default but even with tweaks which im sure make the performance a bit worse it still gives such a huge boost. On a 3070 at 1440p dlss Q/B outside of any bases i get roughly 60-70 and sometimes a bit more fps and inside bases it can be around 50 which is insane considering that without this mod base and settlement locations run at about 30 if im lucky. Stalker 2 by default is very unstable so the fps very often will drop to the regular unmodded fps seemingly at random and of course it doesn't fix the memory leaks which drop the game to a stable 10 fps but otherwise this mod is amazing.

Thats all nice but I think I will wait till next year to even try this game. I tried it but without FG my 3060Ti is suffering. And with FG I cant hit shit. I almost wish there is some kind of aim assistance just so I can bear with FG. Makes it hard to look at objects to pick them up coz mouse input delay...and so on. Mybe in march this games starts to feel good.
