So would you buy a modded 5000 or spend the extra and get the 7000 and does a modded 5000 outperform a 6000

In my opinion most of the small gold performance of the 7 is in the coil design, the 6 is a very sensitive 5 , similar performance in sensitivity can be obtained by speeding up the pulse rate and cranking up the gain and squashing out fly back artefacts that are still being amplified. But that is just my opinion.

It is a mistake to sell a modified device because there is no better device yet When the gain button is increased to this update is it will add more depth to the professionals.? ^^

What is the most important? The extremely low noise input stage, the lower the noise the better, very high control of DC offset to maintain dynamic range, lowest possible bleed through of fly back artefacts that reduce the the integrity of the integration samples, many improvements can come from predictive filtering algorithms, I have many innovation on the drawing board or should I say being worked on in my workshop. As long as at least 10 decibels of gain is extremely low noise with accurate performance and maintaining signal integrity and overall dynamics the gain provided by the intermediate gain control function is of less importance in regards to its noise floor. It is 100 times more important to maintain full integrity of the the signal dynamics than boosting afterwards as long as the functional requirements are not too far compromised.

Most amps go to 10 yours go to 11 lol, they do that in the factory so you will buy the newest model not quite set it to max settings, if people just new about coil theory then it would click its all in the coil

I couldn't wait to test them. 6000with gpx11" coil(0.076g-70mm after 0.076g-85mm. 0.48g-150mm after 0.048g-170mm. 5g-250mm after 5g-280mm.41g-340mm after 41g-385mm) the 7000with Z12" high yield difficult( 0.076g-60mm after 0.076g-85mm. 0.48g-150mm. after 0.48g-185mm. 5g-260mm after 5g -295mm.41g-380mm after 41g-420mm) The measured data of 6000 increased by 10%-20%. 7000 increased by 10%-40%. Since the 7000 is in high yield mode. The data for small targets is very high. 0.076g improves 25mm. (25\60) x 100% = 41.6%. This data is amazing. There should be different results in general.normal mode. These data only represent my personal opinion and are for reference only. bought a brand new 5000. Hope to see Woody soon. Thank you Woody👍👍👍

Everyone has found the 6000 and 7000 to be far better since modified, I even managed to get a 7000 for myself to do my own modifications and develop new coils.

Air tests are useless... do it in ground on undug targets.

If it’s undug how do you know what you are wasting time on? There is plenty of feedback coming back from customers in the field out detecting, read their comments.

@DetectorMods An undug target is in its natural environment, means the metal detector must process signals affected by surrounding soil conditions, mineralisation, and ground balance. This gives a more accurate representation of how the detector will perform in the field compared to an air test, which lacks these environmental factors. Also when a target has been buried for some time, it creates a "halo effect" as minerals from the metal interact with the soil. An air test does not account for this interaction.
