Man I felt that "days where you just smashed creatures and had SOME removal. I miss those days. I am fine with combos, but there are so many, so many removal, and so many overly powerful cards now a days. Remember when Spirit monger was a rare and smashed games?

Spinner of Souls feels like a real sleeper to me. The ability to just replace your creatures seems so good. You can also just attack without regard because you’ll get fresh blockers

Golgari with Braids and Nine Lives familiar and Forsaken Miner. Just seems like endless value train. And we have a new blood artist.

I loved playing Surrak back in original Khans of Tarkir block standard. I had a mono-green devotion deck and Surrak giving Nylea and Polukranos haste was awesome. I think if you moved into Gruul colours though, I'd go with Enduring Courage over Surrak. It gives haste unconditionally AND gives +2 power, all while being much harder to remove. I've been playing with it in a Genesis Wave deck and it's the singular reason that deck ever wins games.

I do like Courage but I hate it itself does not have haste! So sad! Haha

@@MythicMichael Yeah, but they have the advantage of being stackable. I don't hate drawing a second or third courage. Nothing funnier than Llanowar Elves swinging for 7 with haste out of nowhere :)

6:25 Was about to ask about that the other day but figured that was the reason ^^ Also, sir, you need to stop. I was playing dinosaurs exclusively for 1.5 years and then you come along (discovered the channel a couple weeks ago and started binging) and now I have this gruul haste deck and these artifact decks and am thinking about playing skeletons and... make it stop! haha And I have them in paper, too. 😅 They really are a lot of fun.

I had a gruul power 4 matters deck with garruks uprising and that new 2 mana red 4/2. Hunters talent has always been a favorite card but with the new additions power 4 matters actually works now

It’s super weird to me that Sarruk and Halana+Elena are in the same set. I made something similar and splashed red just for Halana. She works with just a single other creature.
