I love original Explorer, have never smelled Aventus but from everything I've heard I wouldn't like Aventus as much as I like Explorer (big pineapple blast doesn't appeal to my imagination in the least). Have never smelled the "blue" version of Explorer because even the concept is totally unappealing to me. There's something a touch blue about Explorer, anyway, and I'd never want to go "bluer." So I've never bothered to give it a sniff. But now I see this video of yours with something new: Platinum. Yes, I am VERY intrigued. So, let's see what you've got to say....

I'm waiting for one of these houses to grow the balls to just name their 6th cologne iteration "Flanker." Explorer was such a specific scent to begin with that they really shouldn't have started pumping these out, especially when this one is so different. It's something knock-off brands do with names that really dilutes the branding.

They explorer and platnum both remind me of eternity. It is not the same but the aromatic side of it does remind me of it. Also a bit of the powderiness with jpg

Went to Macy's and tried MB platinum. Put a couple sprays on skin and took a test strip home. I really liked the opening and the scent lasted more than 5 hours before I took a shower. I could still smell it after I showered and 3 days later the test strip is still going strong. Definitely going to pick up a bottle from my local discounter.

I have Explorer and love it. I just tried this on and really loved the opening. It was sweeter with a little wood in it. However it dried down to basically Explorer. If the dry down was sweeter I would get this. But it's basically Explorer after a half hour.

Got mine this week and I do enjoy the opening a lot. I actually get a cucumber / Gin Tonic vibe, which unfortunately fades away quickly and turns into yet another standard woody scent. Not a great projection and longevity, so unfortunately not a must-have and won't rebuy.
