I'm so glad that I found your channel! I'm a senior citizen living alone, too. Interestingly enough my youngest son gave me a wonderful gift of a variety of coffees for Mother's Day, too. Every time I drink a cup I think of him and I'm grateful for him and his thoughtful ways.

Four of us, and I frequently/pretty much always spend an average of $100 each week on food. I cook from scratch, and just about the ONLY convenience food I purchased is sale priced pizzas (I cannot eat gluten, so lots of items have "different" ingredients). It can be done, and done well! Next year we are putting out our first garden, and we plan to grow and eat/preserve a year's worth of blueberries, strawberries, and tomatoes. We figure if we are going to grow it, we may as well grow enough to eliminate that item from our grocery list completely. We are going to put out some pear trees and apple trees as well. Looking forward to our own home grown produce on our table.

This is my first video to watch from you. I was just going to let the video go all the way to the end when you said, "Remember, little is much when God is in it." Well, I'm subscribing! My mom used to sing that song in church, "Little is much, when God is in it. Labor not, for wealth or fame. There's a crown, and you can win it, if you'll go, in Jesus' name." Love the Gaithers! I had not thought of that song in years! Thank you...we are blessed in this country, even with the rising food prices.😀

Love watching your videos Just recently found myself living alone My husband unfortunately had to be put in a nursing home. I'm 79 years old and I have to learn to live an entirely different life. Feels very strange. Unfortunately my 3 children all live in a different province. That makes things worse for sure. I love your frugal tips and I will try to implement some of them. However where I live things are considerably more expensive. I rambled enough!

Looking forward to your vegetarian meal on Monday! Many times I just use your meal ideas and leave out the meat portions. (I only eat meat once or twice a week) Watch for clearance canned protein items as you stock up your canned veggies. I found canned tuna in water on clearance today at Kroger's for 62 cents/can. Cans were perfect, no dents etc, and best by date over two years out, so I bought three of them. I love your son's gift of a coffee subscription! Coffee has become so expensive, such a thoughtful gift! You are blessed with a wonderful family. 😊

Try Family dollar brand blue box orange peaka and black tea blend at $2.80+ tax better then Lipton tea. I buy 4-6 boxes each month. And yes I use 10 of the bags but I also double brew it and get and extra 1/2 gallon of tea because son drinks a lot in the summer months. I done up all freezer meats first then cook the chicken eat 2 servings and can the rest then cook the bones and fat and veggie peels for bone broth and can it up too. For winter time soups. And all my garden veggies. Diced carrots and potatoes for pot pies and shepards pies. Green beans and potatoes for quick polish sausage crock pot meals. And I even can meatloaf in widemouth pints.

I love the chair we use to have quite a few and unfortunately I sold them regret it now they are so comfortable. I have been on the lookout for the old fashion webbed chairs at the thrift stores have all my friends and family on the lookout too the last one I had a friend who is a little on the chunky side sat in and fell threw it and I didn't have the skills to know how to reweb it. They still sell them new but ouch $30 at I believe it's Target if I don't find one soon I will wait till the end of summer and hopefully they'll have them marked down. My plans tomorrow is I am having a Arborist come out with his crew and cut down one of my Buckeye Trees that is growing in to my power lines going to the house and also the branches are touching my house and my shed which gives easy access to Rocky the Racoon along with termites or carpenter ants so sadly it will have to go. They will be trimming a couple more tree's. They will haul everything away but there will still be things like small branches and wood chips that will need to gathered or my silly dogs might eat them. Have a great weekend everyone. I hear often about the community page but have no idea where that is at. Anna In Ohio

Its just me for a few years but now my son's home with me and he doesn't eat the pork that I do. I usual bought whole porkloin And about 27 meals from it, a pk. Of chicken thighs,1lb. Bacon ,5lbs.grounded beef, 1lb. Pork sausage,1pk.polish sausage with lasts almost 2 months for the 1st week then tea ,instant coffee,creamer,sugar ,5lbs. Self rise flour,5lbs. All purpose flour,2lbs. Carrots ,8 lbs. Potatoes,1 head each broccoli & cauliflower,3lbs.onions,1 gallon veggie oil,salt,garlic powder,onion powder,and knorrs chicken & beef bounlion powders because they have 53 servings. That way I can make biscuits,soft taco wraps,egg roll wraps, egg noodles or lasagna noodles,dumplings,and fruit cobblers from my home canned fruits And yes I make bone broth from the chicken bones and veggie peels. With gives and extra fee meals. So many extra meals when cook from scratch and freeze the leftovers for later or just make egg rolls or tacos. No waste at all. That why I always keep a master list for shopping days. One trip for check bill paying groceries and free veggies and fruits. I've all ready have half my pantry filled canned veggies and fruits and jams and jellies. With the apples u get extra batches of jelly from cores and peels apple sauce or apple butter. And simple cakes and muffins from apple sauce and pop tarts from jams.

@simplefoodsimplelife96326 ай бұрын
Hello Shantelle! I do have a small Mokapot for the stovetop. They are similar except that a mokapot works by pressure sending the hot water to the top and keeps it there whereas a Percolator perks the water up thru a stem and the water drips through a basket making the coffee. Lol I think I have that right.
