私も子供の頃に見たアニメのムーミンで、この３９話は 強烈に印象に残っています。すごく怖くて、怖すぎて、 しかも笑い声だけでなく、仮面が不気味で、ムーミンといえば このスニフの笑い仮面を思い出してしまいます。

This is one of my favorite episodes, I love how freaky it is and the ending is so touching!! I don’t have the best understanding of Japanese but I believe Sniff could only be released from the curse if something hurt him so deeply that he’d start crying, thereby breaking the curse of continual laughter, and the only thing that could do that was My’s reaction to losing him 😭 I love their friendship

For me, this episode was a real punch in the heart. The fact that Sniff's entire identity could be erased and replaced by a giggling lunatic is pretty damn terrifying. I don't even speak Japanese yet I found myself wanting to hug Sniff in this episode even though he kinda started the whole mess. I never thought I'd see Little My break down like that and that tear rolling down Sniff's cheek gave me a bad case of the feels.

I know. Sniff and Sorry-oo are my favorite characters and I felt sad for Sniff that happened to him.

Its kind of scary how no matter what emotion he was feeling the mask just forced him to laugh. Like, he was trying to cry but the mask just wouldn't let him.
