I don’t care what anyone thinks, the way I see rear fill is it’s my car my rules and I think rear fill is a must! I listened to the manufacturers recommendation at first which was to run the 3 way front snd subwoofer. They said I would not require a rear fill but I always had my doubts about that!! I’ll admit it adds to the complexity of my amps/wires ect but after nearly an entire year went but I’m finally realizing what a mistake I made. Can’t believe I listened to them. Lol egg-zactly brotha! The term is literal.... it FILLS THE CAR, and I agree 100%.... it's our car.... so it ONLY matters to US what sounds best. I hate when others try to force some unwritten rule upon you. I get there are parameters for a quality sounding vehicle, but there's not a single rule on earth that is unchangeable.... so we take said guidelines and contour them to fit our needs... within reason of course. When I go to SQ shows, I get two school's of thought. 1 says IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY, and 2 IT'S YOUR CAR BRO.....I Always rock with #2 💪🏿

@@Ahm-Creative eggzactly had me cracking up good one 😄 screw the haters just try it and see what works for you. People don’t understand not every speaker and position is going to sound the same in my car as it does in your car. Too many variables that influence the overall output. Some people rear windows are really angled others aren’t and just that can varry how the sounds bounce off each other and what it does to your listening ear. I forgot what it was that I tried long time ago and everyone said it’s a great speaker but the moment i mounted it sounded nothing like the hype. Keep in mind it did well on the table Hey man what do you think about using a class d amp for our cabin speakers ? All I’ve ever had are ab and it’s too large for this car. I’ve got it currently just floating around the trunk carpet at the moment. I’ve been told for small compact 4 channel I should look into class d amps. What do you use for your inside speakers ? Any recommendations for under 200 bucks ? I don’t have that Mosconi money ya feel 😅

@@onesikm3 lol yeah man, me and my slang...😁 But I agree again, which is also why I never share my dsp tuning. Because what works for my setup will likely not work for yours, and I don't want anyone mad at me for that. As for amps, I use class a/b on my mids and highs, and a class d for the sub. Class a/b is cleaner, and because of the low frequencies, class d is fine for subs, as they're not "musical" in the same way mids and highs are. I'm using a Zapco ST-4X SQ, and 150.2 LX and the footprint isn't huge. But I has an Alpine BBX amp (I think that's the model) and it was even smaller than my Zapco's. It was also a 4 channel, no bigger than my Kicker CXA800.1 class d, so that could work for you.

Absolutely! Rear fill literally fills the car, and changes everything about the overall sound... in a good way. I've seen tweeters mounted in the rear pillars, but haven't heard it that way yet. LOL my brother, you know the game just as well as I do, if not better! Yes, this was part 1 of my plan. I have something else cooking, but it may be months away as I'm still studying and trying to decide. But yes, it does open the sound up that much more, and sitting in the rear seat is a whole new experience. Before, you could hear some of the front stage, but nothing like sitting there yourself. But with these, even at a moderate volume, it brings everything up front, to a more balanced rear. And because they're flat, they don't pull attention away from the front...it compliments it. I'm really glad you like it 😁

My old system only had focal k2 and a jl 6 in the back with a amp and headunit ran. That could get so loud and clean but i guess in the back may have had slightly less power. Btw how do you compare morel with focal? Morel top end vs there mid tier vs focal utopia snd k2?
@Ahm-Creative
@Ahm-Creative 8 ай бұрын
Yes, it is a balancing act for me....the front is definitely louder as it is for you....that's where you want the best sound but the rear fill is there for the passengers to enjoy as well, instead of trying to hear what you have up front only. As for comparing the two, I am Morel all the way. That's not to say Focal is bad because it is not by no means, but the sound is just different to me. Their mids seem a little flat and their tweeters can be sharp to my ear. I don't think I've seen anyone compete using them, not to say that only competing makes speakers good, but it's got to be a reason why no one is using them in that manner. For a good clean system, definitely....and ultimately, it depends on what your ear likes. I've come across a lot of people who don't like the Morel sound. If you like Focal, I say run with them...but I will be using Morel from here on out.

Hello, first of all thank you for the content. I am in this predicament: I have a car that does not bring compartments for tweeter. I was thinking of placing in the front doors the Morel Tempo Ultra ( Source Point) 6.5. Would you recommend me to install those or the Maximo 602 He? Thanks again. Regards!

Thank you for the kind words...I'm glad you're finding my content helpful. As for your predicament, what type of vehicle do you have that is giving you such trouble? The Morel tweeters are fairly shallow, so I would hope you could find some placement options. And the MKII does come with surface mounting hardware. On the other hand, the Tempo Ultra's are great with that Source Point Tweeter. Kinda reminds me of the Illusion Audio components. Source Point tweeters sound great being so close to the mids, given they're facing the right direction....meaning they're not pointing downward in the doors. Plus, with them being so low in the doors (most cars) having that tweeter down there kinda defeats the purpose of such a great sounding speaker...the tweeter would be lost in floor, or would be mostly blocked by your leg. Maybe you could consider surface mounting the tweeters on the far ends of your dash, closest to the windshield so it could help disperse the sound and bring your soundstage up overall? I would go with the MKII for the tweeter options. Hopefully my thoughts help you decide.

One more query, if it is not too much already: in the case of the 602 He is it advisable to feed Midbass and tweeter with the same channels or could I use 2 channels for the Woofer and other 2 channels for the tweeter? Thanks for your time and I hope you continue with such a good content! Regards!

If I'm not mistaken, the Tempo and HE's are about the same price 🤔 As for using the tweeters and mids on separate amplified channels, absolutely, as long as you keep them under the proper crossover points. I believe that tweeter needs to be crossed from 3600-20kHz, and the mid/woofer can be crossed from maybe 80-3600hz, and your sub from 20-80hz. That will give you the whole spectrum of 20-20kHz. 20-80hz sub, 80-3600hz mid, 3600-20kHz tweeter.

Ok question big dog so if your powering them thru your deck, won’t you reach the clipping point of your head unit quicker than if you went thru the analog output and amp to power them ? For example on my radio pioneer, the white grey green purple speaker wires clip after volume 50/62 but thru the rca’s I get to 60/62
@Ahm-Creative
@Ahm-Creative 6 ай бұрын
No, because I still don't exceed my max volume of 33 out of 40, and with my head unit faded forward, I am limiting that output, as well as distortion. At the output level I feed them, it would be a waste of money to dedicate an amplifier to them. The volume on them is so low, you almost can't hear them up front, and in the rear seat, you hear them just enough to compliment the front and fill the gap between the front stage and sub.

Being that you're going to be running your speakers off head unit power initially, I'd say go with these since they're so efficient. And when you do add the Kicker Key 200.4, it will even better as it will use the power more efficiently because of their design. I was using them on my Morel Hybrid 6 1/2's when I had them, and to be completely honest, I didn't notice any sound difference or more focused sound, as some say they help with. If anything, I think they're good for keeping the door panel off your speaker (if you're using spacers), but other than that, they didn't make any noticeable difference to my ears.

@Ahm-Creative okay I think I may just do some light sound treatment on the inside of the door just to prevent and rattling. I'm probably just going to save up and do it all at once with the kickee key too. What coax should I run in the back?

@@michaeldempsey6747 Awesome....definitely do sound treatment. It makes a huge difference. I was running these before I went with the HE602, and they paired very well. www.crutchfield.com/S-FHZrrcmDxd0/p_210MAXIM6/Morel-Maximo-Coax-6.html

I have the primos but do you think the Jl w7 are better and louder. Just curious I want another sun for my other car. I was think the Jl. Or imagine dynamic or dd. I have 2 primos subs in a MBEnclosure but just wonder what other sub could compete with 600 watts or less

I initially wanted a JLW7. It is one of my favorite subs, but for the price, I just couldn't bring myself to do it. So I started searching for comparable subs, and that's how I ended up with the SQL-12. It was either this, or the Adire Audio Brahma. Everything I've read said either of these subs would give me the low bass and loudness of the W7, at a fraction of the price, and I have to tell you, I agree 100%. This SQL-12 is an amazing sub that is LOUD, and Accurate. My vehicle is an SQL build, and this sub is very musical. So, as much as I love the W7, I truly believe you can get the same bass from as SQL-12 or Adire Audio Brahma. The Image Dynamics would be great sounding, but I don't think it will be as loud as the other two I suggested.

@@Ahm-Creative one thing I can say about the primo is that it sounds good and it may not have a lot of punchy bass but the lows are incredible. I have never heard low bass like that. It plays down low with authority. My ears tickle and ring with just 2 on 600 watts. I know the box is tuned low but my god the low end is ridiculous. I would hate to hear 4 primos. I’m a look into the ones that you suggested for a single sub

The box and website says 94dB. You're looking at the specs for the Maximo Ultra 602, not the Ultra 602HE MKII....these are the newest version of that speaker. The High Efficiency version. Crutchfield doesn't have these yet. www.morelhifi.com/en/products/car-audio/performance-10/maximo-ultra-26/systems-66/maximo-ultra-602-he-mkii-116

LOL that is too funny!! I'm really glad you like it! Thank you! I've made some minor tuning adjustments since creating this video, but yeah, they are working! I was a little afraid of using a component, because I had the Maximo 6 coax previously...which also sounds great, but I didn't want this tweeter pulling too much attention from the front, becoming a distraction. So I purposely put them low, not on the upper black part of the door, and faced them more towards the rear with that particular mount. I want that sound to stay back there, complimenting what passengers get from the front, making sure they didn't try to take over.

@@Ahm-Creative Yes, I noticed where you put the tweeters, so you get SOME highs from the back but not screaming at passengers. Versus coax in rear doors where you may not get any highs. Again, sounded great thru my earphones; in the vehicle no doubt even better. I got coax in rear doors and 3.5s in the rear deck which is cool. Factory locations but upgraded speakers. I’m definitely a future Morel customer👍

@@milesbachelor8747 I glad you could notice the sound. The front stage is so much louder than the rear, you can almost not hear them. But, when turning them off and on, even if I move my fader from 25-24, it immediately widens the stage without pull your ear towards the back. And yes, I put them low for that very reason...to balance with the front, and also pull the front towards the back. Without them, there's an obvious gap sitting back there, as you get some of the front stage, but nothing like sitting up there. and just sub. With the rear fill, you are pulling the front stage back there with you, and filling that actual space between the front and subs. The coax's were bad back there, but being able to place a separate tweeter where I wanted gives me that much more control. I can't wait until you join the Morel family. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the smoothness and warmth, even when playing hip-hop. They are very natural sounding.

@@Ahm-Creative Yes your front stage sounded very big in the 1st part of the video, and the rear fill in the 2nd gave it another dimension like the room got bigger, even the bass moved forward. That could be a mic location thing, but that’s the effect I’m looking for. This year the mechanics got paid, brakes exhaust tires etc. I’ll continue electrical over the winter, but I should be ready for a KZbin debut by next summer LOL

@@milesbachelor8747 It totally widened my car...my stage! Even at that low level of power, they are efficient enough to run off head unit power faded forward enough to not pull from the front.
