Hey what would you recommend for a 30g tub pond. I am tired of the sponge Filter I have in there. I need a better Filter since I dont gravel vac and I want good flow but not to much I have endlers and dwarf zebra danios in the pond which is a planted pond.

U could probably use the 500 it filter up to 37g and since it’s only endlers you could probably getaway with it

This review is a year old now... How is this filter holding up to the needs/requirements of your tank set up? Also, Is it really a better filter than the ADV? I ask as I have an ADV 800, and it is fantastic, but the Shark Pro seems to have less of a media holding capacity in each section. The compartments seem small, very small for what is needed for larger tanks with a heavier stock of fish. Thanks in advance!

Aloha Mel.🤙🤙🤙 Question: What size of tanks does the 500 work for? I've been looking for an immersed filter for my 20 gallon long, that will work if there's sand in the tank. I've found 2 but they both said not to use if you have sand. ????? Go figure. That's my luck.

I believe the 500 is for up to 37 gallons or and as far as Sam goes you can use the filter just try to keep it away from the sand you know so keep it up a little higher I would say maybe 3 to 4 inches higher than the substrate if you if you’re using sand

Excellent review bro. Over the time I've used sicce pumps and sicce hob filters a bunch of different sizes of them. all fantatic. ive used many different kinds of hob and pumps over the years but the craftsmanship is unparalleled and the functionality is spot on well thought out. Now i haven't bought any of the different sizes of internal filters from sicce yet. I emphasize YET. but i will be definitely buying one or even 7 one for each of my tanks. You sold me bro. I do not really like the openings in the sides. I been noticing on a lot of reviews, all of the gunk is always to one side, while the other remains relatively undisturbed. The ADV model to me would be superior in that regard because all of the filter media is equally filthy. I love my ADV filters. I purchased the 800 versions to use the extra basket as a dedicated biomedia space. It never gets removed.

I think people are putting the cube compartments on the wrong way that’s why one side is cleaner than the other… I absolutely love the Shark Pro the upgrades are superior especially the magnet!🤙🏽❤️

flicksby is correct. The lower baskets are useless, I have the 900 and tried closing the upper basket in flow on the sides (so it only receive inflow from the lower basket, underneath it). This way I can put bio media in the upper one. This filter is stupid, a part from the smallest version with 1 basket, which is okay as sponge filter. The ADV might not be as fancy looking, but at least the intakes starts at the bottom of the filter, working its way up through all chambers.

Quick question 🤔 does it matter which way the filter Cubes are facing. Like for example the way you're explaining it, the opening to the cubes are on the side but if you look at the video of the shark pro presentation there's a part where its facing the front. Oh braddah that’s a great question to answer that it’s a yes and no… it doesn’t matter which way the cubes face you can have the openings front to back or side to side it’s best to have the vents on the side but like I said front to back works too🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

I bought the largest one recently. I do not like it. Compare to a normal hang on the back filter, its ability to hold biological media is minuscule. It's a joke! There is no way it's enough for a 70-gal. The flow might be okay, but there is not enough room for the beneficial bacteria to live! There are a few remarkable improvements/inventions that I do like. But one of the most important features a filter must have is biological filtration. Unfortunately this does NOT fit the bill in my opinion.

Depending on the Stock in the 70g it could definitely filter a 70g… but it definitely just gives others an option that’s all!!🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

trinity is correct, this is because all filterbasket have in take on the sides.. its basically a fancy sponge filter. the upper basket should have been closed and take their intake from lower baskets. Really weird design, the 500l/h is a nice looking sponge filter tho.
