​@@chaosinfernoid9008I run a Golem starmie deck in some tourneys for fun. With only water energy and golem draws the single fighting energy it needs with Brock. With Misty to ramp up starmie for a chance to take 1 turn if setting up golem. It's really fun. Not great but fun

I has to be exposed on the field to be used as Exeggcutor, it also has to be your mainline offense or die because you will never be able to retreat this thing which not only affects your decks true, main DPS, but overall synergy.

A friend said to me which is so true, the new exeggcute move means it's generating a grass energy - you can play it in ANY deck. Attach an energy to exeggcute and "attack", pull a grass energy out of thin air and now exeggutor can attack in your water deck/fire deck etc

Also a good example, you can't Leaf retreat AND Sabrina/Giovanni for game, so that makes Leaf rly only usable in Charizard, since it is 2 retreat cost and you might wanna protect it without it losing energies

There's also a new Pikachu with 60 HP that has an attack for 1 Lightning to deal 10 damage for each benched Electric Type but not sure that's an upgrade for Raichu. Vaporeon I could see Starmie being useful with since you can retreat it for free then swap the energy to whatever you send forward such as Articuno.

The new Exeggcute can be played more easily in 2 energy decks, and if there's a new Exeggutor with it, it might be easier to play. Alolan Exeggutor could be a dragon-type. I don't think the new Magmar will be great, discarding 2 energy is rough.

Thing with Aerodactyl is that fossils don't count as basic pokemon because they're trainer cards so you have better basic consistancy for the rest of your deck because you're guaranteed a basic pokemon. Also, the existing non EX aerodactyl is nuts because it shuffles your opponent's pokemon into the deck.

Yeah but that's exactly the problem with fossils. Their best advantage is also their disadvantage , trying to find a fossil when you have aerodactyl or Aerodactyl EX in hand. Because we don't have a way to search fossils you basically just play 2 copies of your "fossil basic" and can not help you aerodactyl wincondition out with additional consistency.

I imagine a lot of people using Aerodactyl ex alongside Pidgeot and Sabrinas. Basically just a bunch of ways to force your opponent's pokemon to the active zone to control what/when they can evolve.

Maybe there could be synergy with the new Pidgeot EX but we have to see what kind of abillity it has.

If you go first you open aerodactyl and the amber. You put whatever your starter is down and if your opponent has something that evolves they automatically can’t evolve up unless they put it back on the bench. Good interruption for going first.

I think one thing I haven't seen anyone mention yet with Arodactyl. Sleep and paralyses decks might love him. Stops an evolution to get out of the status effect.

For those that don’t know the new exeggecute can pull grass energy from the energy zone even if you don’t run any grass energy. So you can run it in a charizard deck even though you only run fire energy

The new Magmar is actually _worse_ than what we currently have, at least in a Blaine deck. It has all the downsides of the first, *plus* the downside of having to discard pretty much all the energy to attack. Ninetales is good because you can just feed it the single energy it discards, but Magmar can only attack every other turn unless it was already powered up before with Moltres Ex.

If they give you a way to search fossils Aerodactyl is much better. Fossils have no support currently but being able to jump right into Aerodactyl would be amazing. Also He counters cards a lot of the decks that aren’t currently meta. Can’t evolve Jiggly, can’t evolve cubone can’t evolve anything you start with so it forces you to x speed or consume energy. It’s not the best card but it’s definitely good.

Mew is a solid counter for Mewtwo and Charizard. The 1 retreat is also really nice.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the new Exeggcute doesn't need grass energy to do it's move and it doesn't need grass energy to be in the energy pool to obtain grass energy. So in theory, you can play Exeggutor EX in every deck now?

I think the new Tauros has viability as a splash 1 of for certain decks that need the over the top damage package on a 1 cost body vs ex as well as being able to Giovanni it and reach certain 130hp breakpoints like zapdos or starmie. It's just weak because of the 3 energy cost that could have been used potentially for your actual boss pokemon or mew/wiggly etc Aerodactyl ex is admittedly nice with it's consistent damage and going 1st getting to evolve into aero before your opponent gets a chance to evolve is killer vs certain 1 stage pokes like marowak, starmie, koffing, exeggutor which will be enough to make a big difference along with it's ability being a continuous effect even while it's on the bench Dedenne seems like a better version of pincurchin being able to do the same para effect you'd play pin for but for 1 less energy cost which ends up being really important.

Dkayed, if you interested look an Archeops from the OG pokemon TCG from gen 6 (pulse origin i think is the name of the expansion) that had the same ability as that Aerodactyl ex, in short when hand control decks became a thing, that ability became the cherry on top that didn't allowed the opponent play at all and eventually got banned with other cards like Jesse & James, red card and other things that were part of it. I'm not saying it will be THAT strong yet, but the degeneracy could start from that. Also, that Mew ex, one card, double colorless energy and is auto counter gg, bye bye for char ex for Mewtwo ex, that Mew ex is direct counter and generic.

I highly doubt they are gonna do that. So far pocket is very shady with what its done. Although you technically can build any Deck eventuelly for free, If you miss a single card and If that's a really rare one you have to play forever to even get the missing card. At best make it payable at the very least. 😂 Like that you can somehow farm or pay those craft points. The only way is open packs forever. I dont like this concept its cheap and dumb.

So mew will be thrown in every deck right? Like its a way better ditto right? Then Marshshadow will kill pikachu 40+60+ weakness boost . I like ex Aerodactyl only because your not guaranteed to to draw it or fossil in your first hand allowing you to guarantee another pokemon instead if you play with that stradegy a bit. Larvesta mean Volcarona 😎 this pack will be a huge shift to themeta. Unless they give support 3 stage evolutions . Mewtwo might be the only top teir deck to remain with addition of mew. Exeggcute makes Exeggcutor completely self efficient potentially speeding up venu 1 turn . Time will tell but im hyped.

Actually even if you don't run Aerodactyl the opponent still has to worry about the effect whenever they see Amber Fossil, Dosen't need any energy to pose that threat either.

Charizard won't use blue. Charizard does 200 and has 180 hp. If it's vs a mew deck arcanine survives the mew attack. Charizard will just be the finish for game attack.

Dedenne is a great to stall, only 1 energy to possibly skip the opponents turn, people are alredy using the new Jigglypuff to stall and Dedenne has 10 more hp
