I’ve bought it and have felt the same thing there is a medium tone missing. I’ve a medium tan- olive Indian skin tone but my eyes are darker due to pigmentation. I am glad you’ve brought up naked palette and the reason why I’ve bought the Nars is due to I was looking for replacement shades of naked.

I really enjoy Nars eyeshadow formula. I think they typically stay in a range that works together... other brands often are trying to do too much at once. I also love Pat McGrath for the same reason. You can use one or two shades or get artistic, and it's always cohesive.

I think this is a good palette for NARS, and it's certainly a better effort and value than the new (repetitive) Charlotte Tilbury quad that was just released. I agree that I'll err on the side of getting a Natasha Denona midi palette, and I also agree that NARS is probably a more mainstream option for people who don't want to get as creative with their looks. You know...maybe everything comes full-circle, but after years of NARS being criticized for releasing admittedly boring palettes, I think this and Natasha's midi palettes show that you can get a great, reliable color story for around $60 -- meaning that you don't need to spend $90 for Tom Ford's Forbidden Pink or Smoky Quartz quads to get a similar look. Great review, and fun to watch as always!

Loved this review! I have mature (55yo) tan skin (ELDW shade 4W1) and this palette is just right for me! I prefer mattes and satins , but will use a smidge of glittery (i dont want to exaggerate crepey eyelids).

To me NARS palettes always seem more impressive actually worn than in the palette. The color stories never seem exciting but I'm usually impressed by the quality of the shadows and I especially like their sparkly shades for applying easily and lasting well

I love Nars eyeshadows and their formula. In fact Laguna quad is in my top 3 eyeshadow palettes for this year. Boring looking but honestly so great and easy to work with!

This was such a helpful video... I almost made a huge mistake because the day I watched this. I had already purchased this palate. I went home and played with it quickly. Over what I had on which was similar and I decided it was going back. I had a gift card but still no sense in using on something you don't need or love. I love nars eye shadows. And I was so excited when I saw they brought back this shape & size. Then I was like... Nah not enough range. You nailed it as I thought it needed at least two different shadows with depths. And the light ones down in the right hand corner swatch much darker because of The duo chrome effect. I used a different brush todand it sealed the deal that this is a keeper. It does wear really well and applies beautifully. I'm a warm girl like you also. When does it stop Girl??? I do this for a living but not like you. I have clients one on one I don't need all this l o l... nut I do! Thank you so much as always for your incredible narration and beautiful demonstrations.

There is simply too little variation in these shades. It seems that almost every look you get will be similar. Plus, I think medium tan to richer skin tones will be happier with this palette. Not complaining, just an observation. And NARS has been pitching their face palettes to that range as well. Honestly, most makeup lines used to create their looks for we fair/light women, and left our deeper sisters/brothers in the dust. So, although this is a pass for me, this palette should appeal to a wide variety of people. And very much worth reviewing. I spent my bucks on Viseart and SUQQU. I have this palette and medium tan complexion and every single look turns out the same. I did eye swatches and some how ever shade pulls very warm and orange/dark peach. Maybe it's my neutral undertone?

@@weatherandsky I don't know what Sofia would say, but these shades all have the same level of intensity, no matter what the finish. And because Sofia did her swatches by finish, I was struck by the fact that there are only about 4 shades in this palette. And they are all mid tones. Not any light colors and only one deep. So not a lot to work with.

Im a fans of Nars palette. I collect them. Don’t care if their color stories are similar. I love their formula. I also have alot of ND palettes and PMG. For me, every time i use Nars palettes, i feel sophisticated. They perfect for daily use. Meanwhile while PMG palletes, i use them occasionally. Same as ND. For me, they are too bold. So yes, im going to buy it. Fun fact i just received my Nars Newest palette Endless Night. And i love it. ❤

I think the talc scare has caused so many companies to reformulate and it’s not always for the better. It looks gorgeous and soft and subtle enough for a mature complexion.

This Nars Afterglow Irresistible is very irresistible. I love the packaging. I think it may appeal to most who want the essentials of warm tones for day, evening and night. As your comparisons, one can quickly make their adjustment in the decision process. I love how you build the softer day to an elegant glam. You know what I am really missing from Nars? I want more of the Nars Powder Blushes. They haven't launched any in quite some time. To clarify, I meant the individual powder blushes for the all black packaging. Although I love the face palettes. This launch of this current palette could have been their debute of a few more new powder blushes with the checkered packaging. Such as the trio towards the right side of palette with the rose pink tones. In the first row (vertical) on left side, the second and third shade could have been blushes too. Just a thought NARS. ;) And some lipsticks with this checkered packaging. Peach matte for the 2024 Pantone Peach Fuzz. I wished Byredo kept some of their large palettes for awhile or reopen a Byredo Vault to let us shop again. They are really pretty color stories. This year I need to get one.

Too warm and red for me, but I do like NARS eyeshadow palettes, they are nice and small, cute packaging and good pigmentation. I have the climax palette (pretty green and blue shade) and wanted (good neutrals). I haven't found any other that stand out enough to get any more from NARS.

I think most companies are staying in the “safe” range with colors they know sell. It’s pretty but not colors I don’t already have. Great review now. Did you get the new Sonia G brushes. I tried 3xs the first day I sat in que and then “sold out” 😮😢😢second I was right on site already at the minute and it said sold out. Anyway. Maybe it wasn’t meant. They are all flat brushes shader brushes. Pretty

Nars has great quality but I have too many similar palettes! I looked the other day. I have Wanted, Hyped, Loaded, Stargaze, Climax, Suede, Ignited, Skin Deep and a bunch of face/ eye palletes. Nars needs to bring back Blondie. Best neutral crease shade for fair skin ever and it’s gone. Why?
