UPDATE - Apologies - I had pinned a comment before posting, and it disappeared. Thank you for letting me know! Anyway, this foundation wore well the rest of the day and I felt like once it fully set it looked better. It lost the cakiness I detected around my mouth area. I have worn it one additional time with just one layer because that is my preference and I felt it looked nicer and more natural. The soft glow is very nice. But this shade is definitely off and I need something lighter and more neutral. The blushes didn't fade at all either which isn't surprising. Nars blushes have always worked well for me.

UPDATE - the Light Reflecting Foundation wore beautifully all day. It settled down on my skin and left it quite flawless looking. I've tried this foundation once more with just one light layer leaving me a light/medium level of coverage (which I prefer) and did not powder. It faded a little bit around my mouth area and nostrils, but not horribly and only noticeable if up close and could have been because I wore a mask a few times. So far I like it, but if I want something with medium coverage, I'm going to reach for the new Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation.

I purchased the foundation yesterday and used it today…I’m 69 and usually use a bb/cc cream foundation but decided to step up my game…I applied a single layer and really like the natural finish and it didn’t settle in my grooves(wrinkles)…I’m a new subscriber😉

I’m the same way with the couple foundations - I only love the tinted moisturizer - I’m finding so many foundations feel heavy on me these days - never thought I’d love serum foundations and tinted moisturizers. I have to study the ingredients too because I’m still acne prone - dry and acne - not a fun combination. When you said heavy around the mouth I get it - some literally pull my skin down with gravity in that area.

Michele, you look fantastic! I bought this foundation and it was a perfect shade match, but I tried to build it up with 2 pumps and it was too much for my mature skin. I agree, a little goes a long way with this foundation. It all looks incredibly beautiful on you. Inspired by your recent cutthroat lipstick declutter, I've been going through and chucking out old / bad lip products, so this is good to know 🥰 Agree that the foundation just isn't quite the right shade, and perhaps it's my eyes (which are rubbish to be fair) but to me it looked like the foundation oxidised a bit. I am so interested in this foundation, I hope to get it eventually! Personally, I think it looked beautiful on you. As for the blush, you’ve inspired me to go through my blush/face palletes to find a similar color to Exhibit A! I never would have tried such a bold orange color, I do usually use more muted tones. Michele, I am more fair and cool toned than you but in the Wayne Goss Tourmaline palette, the first 2 shades would be gorgeous highlighters on you! One is peachy and one is pink as you know, so I'd try those out! I am too fair for them as highlighters but I constantly try and mult-use my makeup 💄

The foundation may be a shade dark, but it looks fine on your skin. I definitely liked the CT new foundation better on your skin. The glosses are very pretty. 💕💕❤

I had a “but it’s so scary looking” experience with NARS blush in Seduction. It’s such a dark berry, but with a light hand it’s the most amazing natural flush- and I’m very fair skinned. Now, with NARS I always try it on before judging. I’m almost always pleasantly surprised.

I am not sure if perhaps something is wrong with my screen, or if generally probably colours get distorted going through the camera, and then the screen, but I was a bit puzzled when you said the foundation may be a bit dark for you. If anything, I'd say it looks a tad lighter than your skin (but still like a very good match). Especially when you only had it on one half of the face. Ok, compared to the neck, it's darker, but I don't know about you but my neck is always lighter than the rest of my body and definitely lighter than my face, even in the winter, so maybe I am biased that way. :)

No, it's too dark. When foundation is first applied, it often looks "lighter", but it dries darker and then can oxidize over time which makes it even more dark. I can see that when dry, it's a bit too dark for her skin. Sounds like you don't wear sunscreen. Those who do religiously usually have a face that is several shades lighter than their neck and rest of their body.

It's definitely too dark. After drying, the difference between the neck and face is clearly visible. Foundation should always match the neck, not vice versa.

jarmille X: I feel the same way. The shade of the foundation looked exactly like the complexion, to the point where you could barely distinguish it. For me that is a perfect match. Trying to match to the neck makes the foundation look unatural, I mean in Michele's case, where the difference is quite stark. She recently wore a Burberry foundation that matched her neck, but looked like white paint on her face, and it was really off and unnatural looking. My opinion, anyway

@@auratopan4874 Make Up Artists are in general agreement your goal *IS* to _match your foundation to your neck_ . Not only is it too dark, it's too yellow for her skin tone. Keep in mind that what you see on your screen is not what she sees in real life. The lighting for the camera affects what you see. She knows her skin color and what the product looks like on her skin. There is are distinct differences between value, hue, saturation, and tint. Certain cosmetics will reflect light that the camera sees that you do not see in real life. Professional Make Up Artists know which products to avoid for events that will be filmed/photographed. so unless you're trained to know how to see under what contexts, it can be difficult. Michele is not making this distinction for the camera, she is trying them on and sharing her opinions.

@@violetviolet888 Hi Violet, thank you for your reply. I am aware of the recommendation of make-up artists that the face should match the neck. However, in Michele's particular case, I find that the shade difference between face and neck is quite strong, therefore in my opinion it looks better for the foundation to match the face, not the neck. Or maybe meet half-way. And I know that the image on screen can be misleading, but I follow other KZbin artists, and I have never seen on any of them such mismatched foundation shades as I often see on Michele (again, in my opinion). So I agree that the screen is misleading, but up to a point. Anyway, I don't want to start an argument war or anything, I respect your opinion. These are just my thoughts and my perception.
