I totally agreed with senator Sani that the old new anthem they passed remains an anthem for the APC led government, especially as it was passed/adopted in a hurry in no consultation with the people. This government will never stop at embarassing the people with their confussion. If they could in the past sing "on your mandate we shall stand" in the joint assembly, what they cannot do does not exist! First of all it is absolutely wrong to ask anyone expressing his views on national issues to keep quiet. Democracy, entails one's ability to express themselves without fear or intimidation. Secondly, the use of the colonial anthem by opposition movements like the Kudurat Station is simple symbolic....an indication/ voicing of its opposition to tyrannical government, which is/was normal for opposition movements. Finally, Sen. Sani has spoken well (if you'd cared to listen without sentiments), their speedy approval of the anthem, is a push by the older generation, populated by the senate, to relive their once beautiful past.
