3:28 This is true. But what I've come to realize more is that it wasn't a lack of honesty. It was a lack of understanding. Cultures are suppose to be a reflection of an understanding. Not merely a string of behaviors that just pass down from generation to generation. African culture for centuries was disrupted to a point where behaviors were passed down on autopilot without significant meaning. The meaning was there especially if you were wise enough to see it but most were not. So when even more disruption came in the form of technological influence, most African parents were powerless and unable to pass down meaning in a world were they could not compete in passing down inherited strings of behavior. Today I'm fortunate to have gained insight to see the great wisdom in our African cultures. Unfortunately many people just know a bunch of behavior that they cannot realistically defend in our fast paced changing society which leads to extinction of cultural practices because significant meaning could not be attached to validate such behaviors in a new environment and also such behaviors could not be appropriately inculcated. For example, using fear to lie to girl children that if boys touch them they would get pregnant. While the intention is good, the means to prevent premarital pregnancy only made the situation worse

So are all poor women naturally "beautiful" that this leveraging is an option for them all as opposed to poor men? Beauty can not make a woman rich. Women can leverage their so called attractiveness against the male need to be seen with attractive women and therefore only be in the proximity of wealth. But attractive women are then not taken seriously because the assumption is she merely used her beauty to attain things versus actually worked for it. So poor women will always be at a disadvantage and worse yet when they have children since they're not societally allowed to abandon them the way men are.
