What I think it is this. Upside down AND LOCKED means possibly you must gain experience of command and win decisive victories to either unlock those ships or bring them right side up. Just a hunch as this is a completely new game for me. Good luck Captain!

I do want to point out this is the second game in the series and they have Victory at Sea, in which you can play as the Americans, British, Germans, or Japanase against the other factions.

love these types of games it reminds me of a advance game of PTO 2 I hope in campaign the fleets hunting each other has a cat and mouse feeling to it because in my opinion that is the best part to WW 2 navel tactics

Another game where important ships are given minimal escorts. Enterprise had at least eight ships escorting her at any given time. Including a heavy cruiser.

Yes but since the player can create their own fleets the game is allowing for the creation of new ships and creation of your own tactics.

20:39 "both fleets were evenly matched". No, no they weren't, the game has a wierd sense of balance, indy has a huge range advantage on the japanese light cruisers... especially the kumar class light cruiser that was there. I'd love to see you do a campaign of this raptor!

I thought the same. Most of the Japanese light cruisers were just glorified destroyer leaders. Against a full blown heavy cruiser. That was not evenly matched

Thats not to say that the the IJN didn't have any ships that wete on par with the USN.

Some Japanese ships are better than the US. In terms of light cruisers however, not really. Only Mogami but it was remodeled as a heavy cruiser. They can defeat the lower end US light cruisers, like the Omahas, but Japan never focused much on light cruisers. I will argue by the end of the war, US pretty much is better across the board in majority of the areas compared to other warring nations.

Hey, Raptor those planes you saw on the deck of the USS Enterprise at the seven minute mark were F4F Wildcats from the VF-6 fighter squadron. The submarine you used is a Gato class sub SS-228 launched on September 11 1940. It could fire torpedoes from the bow and stern but not off the deck; as the torpedo tubes were built into the sub itself.

This is a small nitpick but it really bothers me that they use a generic gun loading noise instead of some kind of ship noise when you give commands. But it looks promising and I would love to see more.

It is possible because if you look at the HMS Hood it was sunk from 3 15 inch rounds from Bismarck, that being said it depends where the salvos hit the the ship the ammunition bay and engine room (citadel) will cause a quick end to the ship but that's a one lucky shot at long distance.

Why the french fleet is always forgot?? I know that because of the stupide gouvernment of this time, the french fleet did absolutelly nothink during the war (some ships like the richelieu take part in the Pacific war) but steel this was the second fleet of the world... I don't understand :(
