thank you for saying this bro I'm sick of these corny ass tiktok/twitter fans who haven't seen the sun in months and sit at home all day talking shit

Standards now are : become the new Jordan, or nothing. And social media is the ultimate platform to not think twice and dialogues are often replaced by arguments that everybody tries to win, by any means 😂. I think with time those kind of behavior will decrease, it's our responsibility to spread positivity and to accept that a step back is often the best way to enjoy watching the NBA.

NBA clownshow media also made it worse
@Nilloth3 ай бұрын
@@bostonsports8080 it's also directly linked to the nature of the sport. Take football : mbappe doesn't the ball often at all so people are forced to understand football a d midfield actions before the scorer get the ball. In basketball : lebron has the ball for 20 minutes, so people don't care about the "roleplayers" because they're nothing compared to bron. It's heroball, always has been. And that creates casuals like no other sports.
@bostonsports80803 ай бұрын
@@Nilloth That's definitely true. As a Celtics fan, I'm sick of the narrive that the Celtics only made it past the 1st round, let alone won the Finals, solely because of injuries. What are we supposed to do about that? Let them win out of pity?
@Nilloth3 ай бұрын
@@bostonsports8080 they should have emoted for 48 minutes for 2 games. Beginning series with 0-2, the only way to achieve greatness 😂

There will always be people who let their negativity get the best of them. Social media has given them a platform. We should not mock these people but feel sorry for them. Perhaps they are emotionally immature, frustrated and dont know how to handle that and most likely both. I think it's a primitive survival mechanism that you already see in little kids: if i mock someone else at least i am not the lowest on the social ladder.
@peapod56293 ай бұрын
How about you stop sounding like being all benevolent and above everyone. "We should not mock but feel sorry for them". "I am at least not at the lowest social ladder". "Little kids" "Primitive survival mechanism" "Most likely both" Your no better. Get your head out of your ass.

NBA fans are weird… I don’t have Twitter/X because I absolutely hate that platform but I saw a post on instagram talking about how people are comparing player wives… that’s so strange idk it’s weird.

The thing that all of those fans have in common is that they have experienced winning basektball. They all are Lakers fans, Bucks fans, Warriors fans. They are able to feel the ecstasy of winning. I am a Hornets fan. When your team becomes so bad for so long that it is affecting your mental health you learn to appreciate that win you just got REAL quick because it might be another 2½ months before you get another.

Yeah as a kid i was a spurs fan and while the team dominated i knew expecting them to win every year was stupid and it only happens on videogames. As a kid i understood stuff those adults can't...

This was the first NBA playoff's I've ever followed closely. I followed the Mavs because I saw some Kyrie handles and Luka plays compilation and got really hyped. This was not limited to the games, but also the pre-post game interviews of both teams, the ESPN coverage and other youtube channels. The experience was a complete blast but I would be lying if I didn't count all the frustation I felt any time I went to read the comments on any video (all of them just discredit anything that happens or make it about their team), all ESPN analysis focusing on negative stuff (ex.: If A wins and B loses, B displayed a pathetic form of basketball) and both analyst and NBA channels switching boats on what they think is happening/going to happen. The best way to enjoy the NBA is to just watch the game and ignore all social media interaction about it, it's nuts.

Fans like this make it hard to even talk sports. I’m the typa mf who types full on essays in comment sections - I have a job lmaoo I pay rent I see the sunshine on the daily 😂😂 But I love sports man. Especially football and basketball. I’m really passionate about it so I love to talk about it with people - but some mfs ruin the fun of that. To the point where I don’t even comment as much anymore. I’ll play devils advocate- if you’re a pistons fan I’ll point out the hood in your team while making my point so that you know I’m doing my best to be objective. But even then mfs just love to troll, talk shit, and ts just ain’t fun man. I needa NBA group chat with non toxic mfs man ong Edit - as a Celtics fan livin in Florida the magic are my second favorite team. I fuckin love watching them play. Y’all might not have won this year - but you guys play with great energy, tenacious defense, and rebound the ball very well. Y’all got a real deep roster too. Your team has all the markings of a young finals contender. You ain’t just being carried by one star like Dame in Portland - you have 7-8 guys who could genuinely start on most teams. The future is bright in Orlando. I gotta pull up to the amway, or I guess fucjin kia center soon I gotta get used to saying ts mayne 😂😂

This is the first time I’ve ever seen someone with my exact opinion. I love sports, and I love having a good time talking about it. Most of my friends don’t watch sports, and when I get into something I get REALLY into it. But the toxicity of online fans has made it so much less enjoyable for me. Just feels like no one cares about basketball they just want stupid reality TV drama. I have never understood why people can be so hostile for literally no reason.

Can’t lie a 58 win team losing in round 1 with title aspirations and the best record in the league is a colossal failure, but I agree with everything you’re saying
@adnanahmed18962 ай бұрын
it’s so funny that nuggets fans were shit talking that post because before their title their biggest accomplishment was coming back from a 3-1 deficit twice (which was incredibly historic) but when we celebrate making the conference finals for the first time in 20 years and on the 20th anniversary of our first wcf birth and on KG birthday and being the first team to come back down 20 in a game 7 and win all of a sudden it’s “poverty franchise” “y’all really celebrating a second round win like it’s a championship LMAO” idk what it is with nba fans and their weird obsession with shitting on wolves fans when we celebrate winning when we’ve been losing for so damn long

Talking basketball with anyone born in the early 2000s is like arguing with a child. It’s only about narratives and what this game or series means for a players legacy. Any player that doesn’t have a hall of fame career is considered a bust and any player that plays for a good team and puts up good numbers is considered overrated. It’s the dumbest shit Ive ever heard. Nobody actually talks about the actual game of basketball or talks about players objectively. Just a bunch of people that never even played on a high school level telling people what a travel is or how a players legacy should be defined.

Awesome video, couldn't agree more, modern nba fans are spoilt brats, it feels like they wanna ridicule fans that just sit back and watch basketball with a cold one in hand enjoying emselves or for celebrating a teams overachievements, like they make it seem like nothing is impressive anymore.
