I like the idea of these "What Wood's Playing"-style videos. I've always like the idea of this just being an all-around gaming channel, rather than just a Switch one. I don't think there's anything wrong with it being Switch-centric, but I've always like hearing Wood talk about all the systems. And more recently, it seems like we're getting to hear about it more. I've just gotta defend this game for the big time Kirby fans... Kirby's Dream Buffet is super addicting if you want to get more skilled/see all the fanservice when you level up. Also it seems to work almost completely fine for me, even online. The Mario Party-like rewards at the end are actually pretty cool and one of my favorite parts because most of them you can control, unlike the non-classic bonus stars in modern Mario Party. First of all, collect other types of fruit on the way, and try to get the most of 1 kind. If you know you can't get to one of the strawberry piles at the end, jump off and hover so you can get the hover award. Things like "most strawberries collected in a minigame" are not so easily exploited but it's still skill for the most part. "Most power-ups used" isn't really excusable because you get more powerups if you're in last place but hey, most of it's better than how Mario Party does it imo. Maybe I'm just biased but for 15 dollars the amount of fun and extra fanservice/remixes/unlockables is an amazing deal. There are SO many references 0.1% of the players will understand and that's what I love about Hal. They know how to do fanservice RIGHT and make long time fans feel rewarded but it doesn't lessen the experience for new players.

Kirby's Dream Buffet is amazing. I have had issues online too, so I spend most of my time playing offline. I do wish it had four player split screen, but it's still a lot of fun, even in single player.

one thing I'd like to bring attention to with cult of the lamb is its performance. I'm unsure if there's been any patches since launch (last i played was a week ago and there weren't any then), but if youre a switch player id highly recommend waiting for the game to be patched. while the game is very fun and playable (for the most part), there are a LOT of bugs that will impede on the gameplay. some are minor visual ones which are funny, others are more egregious and can make you reset the game losing a bit of progress (typically it's when you're giving sermons/doing rituals and the animations will just freeze). performance itself is also pretty leggy and stutter once you get a good number of followers/stuff built in your town. it's very fun and cute and i don't regret my purchase personally, but I'd still say don't buy it until there are some big patches to make it smoother... on switch, idk about the other consoles and PC.

08:40 I don´t have the framerate issues anymore, maybe it was because of release? I really enjoying Kirby and for the price, it´s all worth it in my opinion. I also liked that they implemented a mini rank system. Also, no annoying Battle Passes anymore, or a pay to win system. You get new levels/maps, new minigames, cosmetics, new music, etc by just playing and leveling up. The game gets more fun in my opinion later on. So I don´t think 20 min´s is enough to review it? Maybe an hour better hehe. I legit think this game is more fun than Fall Guys!

My husband and I are also going through alot of changes in our lives and it can be tough to adjust. We all need a minute to acclimate, settle in, feel secure and establish something familiar out of the chaos. Even when the change is positive it can still be overwhelming. I have watched/read about how they’ve continued to improve the gameplay over the years in that’s it’s completely changed/fixed from release. I’ve considered getting it for PlayStation but when the Switch port was announced I figured I could wait a little longer and see how that pans out before pulling the trigger.

Even Wood has spoken about how bad No Man's Sky was until it got the updates.....I don't know the type of person you would have to be to love the game before the update, but it just wasn't good at first, no matter what anybody says.

It shut up a lot of haters but then they found other things to criticise. The game to begin with was ok as an indie game but has since turned in to a fully fledged AAA rpg with lots to do.

God I can’t wait for No Man’s Sky to come out on Switch! I’ve already bought the game 6 separate times for myself on different platforms plus family members… and honestly I can’t wait to buy it again two more times on Switch for my mom and I. Hello Games has given me over 1000 hours of enjoyment by releasing 20 major updates for one sticker price (plus an amazing community!). No expansions, no micro transactions. I have no hesitation whatsoever when it’s comes to supporting Hello Games.

Regarding Kirby it runs at about 30 fps with some drops to 28, when your are playing vs cpu. It seems to be a bit more laggy when playing it on the big screen and nearly uncontrollable when using a PS4 controller via the 8bitdo adapter. However, when you start playing online the usual Nintendo mess starts and I had sessions which dropped to 2 fps and some even halted for a few seconds and then continued just fine. You can adopt to the annoying Mario Party elements: Collect berries and items at the beginning. In most sessions all players will be stuck at two biscuit walls, so just collect stuff and wait for them to destroy these walls or use one of the two items which let you glide below the biscuit walls and then RUN to the finish line as fast as you can. I like this game better than Fall Guys because it's less frustrating and the theme provides a nice, cozy atmosphere. But with the broken multiplayer mode (or maybe it's not broken, it's just what Nintendo wants to deliver) replay-ability seems to be non existent after you collected every minigame.

@@jackygemme863 Because I hate Joycons and the xbox layout. Joycons just hurt my hands. I tried many alternatives including the highly praised 8bitdo controllers, but all sucked (anatomically or built quality). So I just tried the beloved PS4 controller and it works perfectly in every game. With the exception of Dream Buffet, where the stick movement is too intense compared to the Joycons interpretation.

@@Hakeraiden Fall Guys was 20 Euros, not free (then). And both games are very different. I like Kirby more, obviously not the MP part. I hope that Nintendo fixes this, but my hopes are not high. Nintendo seems to be just fine with us paying for their broken service, just as they were fine with the ridiculously bad screen of the Switch, that stand (both finally fixed with the OLED version) or the inferiour Joycons, for which we have to buy plastic attachments, so that our hands don't hurt…

I’m so glad I’m not sensitive to stuff like that. Back in the NES days when a game would have flicker it was just understood that’s just how it is at some parts. We dealt with it. I hear a lot about how frame rates and other details make games unplayable to the young generation and I just shake my head.

The gaming industry is huge and with the level of quality that we expect now because it is so fleshed out as a whole, they should fix the errors with the game before release. Especially since it is now so much easier to patch things just with a simple update. It wasn’t so easy with cartridges. But with digital content it absolutely is.

I've tried playing Cult of the Lamb on Switch and sadly, I think it still needs a few updates. The game slows down quite a bit when there's too much on screen. It's too bad a lot of the coverage seems to be involving the Steam or PS5 versions, the latter of which has its own issues as well. Nevertheless, great video Wood! Good to have you back!

I got a new release for $1.99 USD from $9.99 called Marmoset. Such a peculiar game. Has a very Indy vibe, reminds me of Cave Story. The story is so unusual, a group of people go to live up in the trees because of nuclear fallout from a war. The soundtrack is hypnotizing. But so far a somewhat unforgiving game. The first bad guys drain a lot of life. You die 3 times and it’s game over. There’s light crafting. Sort of a platform vibe. Possible metroidvania elements. I haven’t advanced far as I haven’t played it enough but it’s well worth the $2 if it’s on sale and if it’s not it still could be worth it because of the originality and all the elements I mentioned. Try Marmoset!

There’s just too many bugs in cult of the lamb though. I absolutely love the game but I’ve been softlocked three times and I encounter bugs extremely regularly.

I have it on switch too and I'm disappointed because I can't even finish the game it's so bad. They decided to have a required number of followers to face the final boss and the switch can barely even handle half of that so I guess people on switch just don't get to finish the game lol

One thing that shocks me about No Man's Sky... is that it's ONLY 12 GIGABYTES! When so many huge games around nowadays are upwards of 50GB, seeing NMS using just 12.39GB of my drive is insane to me

I bought it for my switch at first and it gave me some soft lock issues that now have been fixed for the most part but I love it I finally sorted it and I'm on day 170....was gifted it on my switch and sooo many issues still buggy there which saddens me...but I love this game and I want a shirt or plushie at some point 😂
