I wonder if he can switch with hunter behind walls without line of sight (it might be too op so probably not I'd think) or maybe through windows/dropped down pallet? For BQ sandwich I'd say the current one is still better as it completely cancels the mirror cuz if BQ is already too close the swap won't do much even with the speed boost. You'd have to use the new skill early while they're far so u have distance after switching. It's a mix feeling, he got weaker (they completely killed is blink counter) but also better/easier at kiting in a way and stronger support in some situations (current one still does better job at support in my opinion). Currently for me the only + point is his skill is easier to use now and u don't need to be careful about where you'd be facing as much (or where you'd be if u didn't see ur body) after switching back from hunter. Have to test him when he's out to see how good he is cuz as of now it looks like he just became weaker in order to get rid of his current buggy skill lol lastly for solo Novelist players the new skill would be great tho I'll say that

As soon as I saw this ability, the idea came to me that the Novelist could play with the Journalist, so that when he came to the pallet, he immediately switched places with the hunter, and then the journalist's little Orpheus hit the hunter with the pallet

Very useful for end game when the hunter is camping the gate and could also be good for getting out dead ends, I do wish they just made this for a different survivor and fixed novelist though. Also I’m very curious if he can use it through walls if so he’ll be a great rescuer especially on asylum

I like Arms Factory. It's easy to see stuff compared to the darker maps like the ones you mentioned. But they did add a function to change the brightness to your liking so it's mostly the colour and terrain now.

I liked him how he was. It was more lore relate. I always thought that it was that his role in each game - to create diaries (note how experiment is going on) and if something is going wrong to safe others/himself. Also (I only came to this conclusion now) I think devs wanted to point out that he was a spectator of each game and could change its course from behind the scene the way he wants it. But after adjustment it will be just another kiting character… but a some kind of survivors’ Nurse version. Second time.

Same, his current ability corellate to orpheus lore. When he return to the manor Ada detective, we got shown that orpheus can relieve other people memories by reading the Diary, so it made sense her can control people. (Also let's be real here this unreliable mf has something to do with the manor game being made, ) so it make sense why his ability is to control both survivors and hunter.

I really like the concept of you switching body with the hunter (before rework). It's something unique but I hated that once he got that nerf, where he can't collect info during tide turner. >> Now, seeing the rework, I think it's okay and maybe get back to play as him. I love his design and wanting to play him more~ Hopefully this time can be in 8v2 now.

Ngl its kindaaaaa...meh. The Outline ability helped me when I had to try and kite for my bestie when she couldn't. With that gone, it kinda makes him more of a contain than an assist. This rework of Metaphor is giving me mix opinions, makes him more easier to counter.

He already was a good rescuer before this nerf of a rework. He could metaphor the hunter for 5 seconds away from the chair while a teammate got the save. And same goes for a chase. They completely gutted an entire character’s identity

After thinking about it for a while... I was thinking making him able to switch places with survivors as well (as his sub skill replacing the outline he has rn) but with a very short range. I thought it'd be too op at tirst but giving it a short range and still keeping the yk the other teammate needing to accept ur call system + long cd (also it'd ofc use up the main book it won't be just cd like outline). It's going to be great for body blocking. Ik u can pretty much do the same thing with the new main skill but way better cuz both u and the surv u support won't take any hit. Still idk just messing with other survs seems fun to me lol people most likely won't even use it unless it didn't use up the book ig. Edit : Wait.. it can't be op in support but.. for kiting ahhhhhhh esp late game imagine switching with a merc at full health near gate. Ah too much work for balancing huh. I don't want him to be op but I do want him to have a new sec skill like he has rn. It just feels empty to me esp with all the new survivors also having 2-3 different (non passive) skills. im not gon lie, they just made him a much weaker survivor. i genuinely believe this the biggest nerf in disguise as an adjustment. im so confused about who asked for this rework because hes's already a pretty solid survivor. hopefully, this doesnt make it out of the test server and becomes just another survivor's new ability because the novelist will be dog water. idv is actually digging their grave please. old skill: -he could cancle hunter ability making them go through the cooldown BC SWAP PLACE CONTROLS -switch places with hunter of course but he could move it away from teammates or place in pallet making the hunter either take a pallet stun or build distance such a good skill -speed boost for teammates when switching and even just kiting or rescuing for people in general help -to counter all this he had decoding nerf but it wasn't even that major bc u just need to be swapped with someone to counter it new skill -swap places with hunter but does not cancel skill bc not enough time, u just have to be away from all ur teammates for it to benefit them, thats literally it unless they wanna add being able to swap from a two story building or hospital window ig but still mid overall like please this only gon help people who get stuck in the walls by hunters bc it works faster than going to settings to click the escape button help. -i read gate rescue in comments but like bro once u swap, ur still guaranteed someone gon die just to escape. hes just not a support anymore and i think that makes him a mid character lol -GIRL HE DONT EVEN GOT NOTHING ELSE NAHHH GET PLS THEY THROWING HIM AWAY BC THEY LOVE ALICE TOO MUCH HELP

If the hunter face camp,he can just swap with them and rescue immediately. And when we're in the pallet we can switch places with hunter and pallet stun them. When you switch place with hunter and vault over pallet/windows with broken windows talent you can just zoom away from the hunter with all the speed boost. If the hunter is camping the dungeon you can just switch place with them to escape. There's so many scenarios where we can use his ability. But I do agree that using it to gate rescue is not good cuz the hunter is still near the gate even if we change places.

Why do people call everything new “OP” 💀 especially this, his ability before was way easier to make hunter hit the tram than this, there’s going to be a easy counter like the hunter just had to move back like a dodge to be too far for him to use it on them if the tram is close and his ability will be far more useful during loops to make sure the loop can last longer or you can use it as a way for transitioning.

His skill already did before the rework. You used metaphor while a hunter was using their power. It would put them on cooldown. BQ would eat a 15 second cooldown every time metaphor was used when she had the mirror up

Oh man as a hunter main I love this rework, he looks useless now! Before he could help his teammate by controlling the hunter so his teammate can run away which was REALLY good and annoying to play against. You couldnt catch up to your original target and just had to focus Novelist which wasted a lot of time. Now he can’t really support his teammates, he’s more of a kiter now. His new skill doesn’t seem super good and will probably only be used in certain situations.

We’ll In coms it’ll be annoying af because he basically guarantees a pallet stun if a survivor is nearby and he’ll be able to get a guaranteed escape if the gate is open and the hunter is guarding it

He's still alright when it comes to assisting teammate, considering his switching range is much more big that his old one. Hypothetically can orpheus switch with the hunter if there's a wall separating them, if so he can that going to be a new strategy to help the team. Imagine that you're a hunter in sacred heart hospital, orpheus is is outside and you're in the dome. If this man can switch places, even if it's small he can still provide time for the survivors that are getting chased.
