I recommend timelords for beginners. They are easy to splash in many decks, easy to use, and straightforward with how they function, and are modular to fit with other deck types. They also aren't overly complicated in terms of combos so should be easy to play.

I will get sword soul to climb rank but will prob make a diff deck altogether,I have some special connection with blue eyes(first card in games) so I'll prob try dragon links or some old meta build

if someone is decently prepared and you are a new player, you are doomed. These Barone de fleur and Draco berserker monsters are cards to make you leave the game! So if you are a new player go play tetris or Legacy of the duelist link evolution is so much more fun!

yeah so if you get to gold rank, you'll reset to silver rank in the new season. Just by grinding ranks and completing challenges.

Wait for the deals they are so much better. Until they come just play ranked earn gems through that and challenges and events when they are on.

Don't pay anything; is my advice. Just be patient and play until you have the gems to get whatever you desire. I got all the stuff I needed in and didn't pay a cent. I will never pay money for something I can get for free, especially not in a free to play model game like master duel with how it specifically happens to implement its version of that model. It doesn't feel like a grind for me, I just play when I feel like playing and eventually I find myself laden with a wallet full of gems through natural gameplay, most of which I used for aesthetics and not card packs. I unironically used gems on master packs many times. I converted many many junk cards into cards I wanted and liked. Now I got everything I could ever have wanted in master duel except better more fun modern yugioh meta and or additional game modes aside from casual duel room and ranked. If you pay money for this game, you are making a mistake at worst imo, at best you are simply impatient and do not realize how incredibly reasonable master duel actually is with its free to play model in how generous it is in gem rewards and its card crafting systems are....or you legitimately wanna financially support konami , in which case whatever you do you...Anyway, compared to other greedy free to play microtransaction laden games; master duel is practically a charity

I choose to not use ash or maxx c or niburu in my decks. I refuse to use to use the the majority of the most ubiquitous cards that the meta slaves use. I wanna have fun, so I build decks my way to play my way. To be as powerful as possible in as few actions per turn as possible, shortest possible combos to achieve maximum effect so as to preserve the sanctity of the preciousness of time. I hate other peoples long combos wasting my time, so I wont waste other peoples time with my combos. Instead, I will annihilate my opponent (sometimes) and chastise them for not figuring out how to do cool stuff in fewer actions. This is yugioh, not solitaire

I respect that but Master Duel is all just copy and paste decks unfortunately. I miss when people built decks their own way & having fun and experimenting new techniques. Any deck i find I try my best to build it in my own possible way.
