I am not a fan of Ouidad's famous leave-in Moisture Lock. But I do love their Whipped Curls as a leave in. To me most gels are a bit drying, therefore I never use gel alone, I always use a leave in under my gel. I have tried enough of Ouidad over the years and since they are expensive so I have been narrowing down what I really like and works well on my hair. I am down to 6 products that work well every time. This includes the best 6 day wash and go I ever had using the Whipped Curls and the Advanced Heat and Humidity Gel. I have just ordered the Curl Immersion styling products and if they work well that will increase my number to 8 and that's where it will stay with Ouidad. I am on a Ouidad kick and have used it for the last 4 wash and go's. I was given a new tip last week; when you use a clarifying shampoo you should make your final shampoo and moisturizing shampoo. After you clarify, your cuticle on your hair shaft is raised and you need moisture to smooth it back down. So I wash one time with the Superfruit Clarifying Shampoo and then I use the Nourishing Oil shampoo, followed by their deep conditioner. I know we all love Ouidad but we need to careful with their products because almost all of their products have glycerin and some have silicones and proteins in them. Your results are awesome!! I’ve been eyeing this line because I have loose curls, or when i got my ouidad cut they called me classic curl, but the price tag makes me think twice lol. I think because it’s designed for a looser curl it’s really curl enhancing, especially the mousse. Foams in general are great for me because they are so light they really help define my curls without weighing it down. Your hair looks amazing! I know LoriAnne prefers curl quencher lol but i think it looks great. I’m sorry you preferred the original gel TaylorAnne, I think with the conditioner underneath it looks good.

TaylorAnne what you’re dealing with sounds similar to what I was going through when I was over manipulating my hair. Like you mentioned, I think you’d benefit from stretching out those days in between styling. Wash n gos work for a lot of us because the goal is not to manipulate our hair constantly. For example, I style twice a week (co-wash mid week and shampoo at the end). I only style twice a week to treat my scalp, but if I can extend a style without dryness I will. You may need to keep tabs on your trims as well until things get back to normal 💜

Tayloranne could you have product buildup?? Or possibly just your hair is acting weird with the sudden change in weather/seasons (that’s what mine does) You should try a bentonite clay mask or an apple cider vinegar rinse. It cleanses and resets the pH of the scalp. That’s what I do when my hair starts to feel that way. Hit the reset button!

In the winter time I always use my rinse outs as leave ins just to get more moisture. Especially under a gel. I also wouldn’t do a one and done because it wouldn’t give me enough moisture to last a few days

Ooooh I’m excited for this video love anything ouidad!! But am I the only one who thinks Tayloranne doesn’t have classic curls like for ouidad it’s more perfect spiral curls (the pictures on their website show that) like my friend had those curls and they look very different from hers I think hers goes more towards kinky in my opinion. Gorgeous hair regardless tho fully love this page I’m just wondering if I’m buggin I just thought classic curls were more spiral hope someone replies to this!

That Vita curl conditioner is chopped full of proteins Taylor Anne! You can tell when your hair doesn't like a conditioner by how hard it was to detangle your hair and brittle and dry it looked literally after you put the conditioner in. I was screaming through the screen "No Girl, you too protein sensitive for that" lol. I recommend reading ingredients and don't forget oils like rice bran that provide strength I would stay away too. Hope that helps with your journey!

I have the old gel and I got great results when I used it with another leave in from another line so I'm a fan so far! The sixth ingredient in the Balancing Rinse Conditioner is Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein. Too much could be an issue if your protein senstive, TaylorAnne.

At the rate my hair grows I need to crack down and find someone because these trips to NJ every other month are ridiculous. But the salon would have to compete with my present stylist Joe and I don’t have faith anyone can. No, we don’t seek out Deva certified stylist because we have never gotten a Deva cut.
