Hi Rob, Top Tip... line the holes up on your sander when placing a new disc, put a couple of pencils or wooden dowels in the sander holes then they line up on the disc. James

Hammer was a bargain...definately gonna use a piece of cut down pipe to store my tape now....always emptying the whole bloody toolbox to get to a roll of tape..great idea.

Love the video….ive got a claw hammer but the same as that one as my daily user…..and tape, I went to the charity shops, bought, the mug trees or kitchen roll holder things, the stand up ones, and used those….fixed em into the beams

That multi tool you bought and you showed the curved side for cleaning paint from Rollers well I think that’s what you described as the saw edge, that’s for combing through brushes to remove excess paint before cleaning Keep up the great videos , Brian.

Beauty of those storage draws is you can pop the tops off and stack as high as you want to I brought 2 stacks of 4 and have made a stack of 6 in one part of my workshop and a stack of 2 under a bench and I'm planning to buy 2 more sets once I've had yet another workshop shift around (one day I'll be happy with the final setup lol)

I've used those insulation tubes to make door draft excluders, cut them to the door width, then slide cardboard into the slits and secure with tape before sliding under the door, works a treat stopping drafts.

Easy solution, length of gutter, two stop ends plus support brackets, job done!
@Cloudman5722 ай бұрын
Another nice thing about the 4 high draws is they are modular and you can make them 3 high/5 high etc. I have mine 5 high, 4 stacks wide with wooden board on top for work top (non machining as not super secure) and artist material storage unit in the studio.

Love watching tinkerers working through an idea :) I have a set of Aldi pegboards with 3D printed hooks so all my tapes are hung up side on. I spent ages tweaking the hook design, moving them about, getting it just right. The youngest lad took one look and said "You have too much tape" :)
@WeekendShedHead2 ай бұрын
😂too much tape ! Did you say never enough? 😉It’s great to hear from other tinkerers.. like the 3d printed idea👌 cheers Rob
@davethebuskeruk2 ай бұрын
@@WeekendShedHead Exactly, no such thing as too much tape, especially when they need something fixed :) I use 3D printing a lot in projects, sometimes too much, you can end up wasting a lot of time creating printed solutions that are over the top. I put about an hour into designing a spacer plate to offset a gate late as a temporary fix, half way through it printing I twigged I could just use a handful of washers to space it off the couple of mm needed, that took like 3 minutes, and 2 of those was trying to remember where I'd put the box of washers :)

I'm in the process of building a shed for myself for woodworking so I enjoy all your tips especially the creative budget friendly ones. I've come across a dremmel type tool that parkside do that I like, and as you can battery share across the parkside tools and because I'm going to slowly try and buy more cordless tools I'm thinking of trying parkside, I've already got some lidl bits and they're good with returns on items, so I may commit to building a small parkside cordless tool collection, plus lidl always have special offers, and I just like the colour of them tbh.

Really good video, and excellent showing your tinkering mindset. My mother used to say that I dither, my wife says that I am ruminating when working something out. I will definitely keep an eye out for that tweezer set and I would have skipped over the bit set if you did not show the mag/demag. I got a couple of Aldi QR clamps (not too smooth mechanism, so may try to use graphite powder to make it smoother), and they had some bolts and hinges. Probably not useful for security but could be good for something that drops down. And on the old safety front, setting up sharpening station (using Rob Cosman method), and managed to polish off some of my pinky nail. Which leads to next job of making one of those shooting board/supports for planing wood.

Hi Rob, looks like you got plenty going on there, it's all good stuff and all good fun and it's all in the shed.....nice. I've got my tapes on a piece of drain pipe screwed to the top of a cupboard just above my screwdrivers. You have done a great job on polishing the metal on your hammer looks good if it was mine I wouldn't paint it the polished finish looks better, just a thought. More Parkside bargains cant go wrong with there prices where else can you go for a SDS drill and a loaf of bread. Hammer came out good. Great idea with the tape holder. I have mine on two dowels and its always the role at the other end that I want to use. As you pointed out take them all off to get it. I think if i just cut one quarter out instead of half then get the heat gun out and flatten a quarter for mounting screws. Still leaves half to sit the tape in. Thanks Steve aus.

I didn't see one in the tweezer set but a cross tweezer is also good as they are push to open instead of the normal push to close. So the cross one can hold an item while not in the hand eg on a bench so you have both hands free to say offer up second piece in 1st hand and add glue with 2nd hand or for soldering small items. So like a tiny vice/clamp.

I have a suggestion for tape storage. I use two kitchen paper roll holders, I have different sizes of tape with a snap off utility blade stored in the middle of the rolls. Try to find holders that are screwed in as I couldn't get the stick on type to adhere to the surface of the underside of some shelfs. Not my idea, saw April Wilkinson use them. 🛠️👍
