hello... in 26:56 you don't need to make the second connection, you just have to activate the 'double slip switch'

Yes, that is true. I did it to keep the speed up on the train. Slip switches isn't as fast as two conmections.

You can check the rate of your lines. Rather than guessing how many train cars or freight trucks you need, just match the rate of the line to the production of the farm or factory. Usually it is 200? for a farm amd the factories start at 200 and then increase after a time.

Ah, yes - I tend to ignore the "rate" information. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!

Having a very low power rating may lose you money. Taking a very long time to accelerate lose you turn around time, decreasing transport capacity. To my calculation the train should accelerate about quarter of the distance to be optimal. Cargo wagon cost is a combination of speed and capacity. So never upgrade speed on cargo wagons as long as you cant use the new speed. Also.. never have locos slower than the cargo wagon speed... well apart from the very beginning. This

Thank you for your insight. I try to keep every cargo loco at mediocre, they seem to be accelerating well then. Also, I always try to use locos that match the speed of, or is slightly faster than the wagons - never slower. Seems to be working great!

@@fredbreaks9680 Its like this. If you multiply the speed by the capacity you always get the same number for all wagons. All Locos is cost is pretty much just power. The running cost is about 1/6 of the buying cost. (for pretty much everything in the game) EMU/DMU is calculated as a loco+wagon. A Truck and bus is calculated same way as a wagon. But the truck is half cost. So all the cargo wagons cost pretty much the same. but they are not identical. The diffrance is how much cargo they can take per ton. This varies from 0.6 to 1. So quite a lot of diffrance in empty weight. (for passanger wagons the span is higher) Its also varies how much cargo they can load per meter train. This varies from 0.6 to 1.7. So a rather huge diffrance. Generaly the asians one are better in this regard. The effect of this is that the asian trains will be very heavy per meter, so if you want short trains, asian them is better. For long train European is better, and US is in between.

I see. Thank you for the indepth explanation. I will keep this in mind for future expansion/upgrading! I didn't know all this; usually I have just gone for a simple length+capacity+weight comparison.

@@fredbreaks9680 yes.. so there is generally no drawback in using a faster engine. Well apart from one. Faster engines generally have lower traction (for the same power). Now traction is just important at very low speed. Traction pretty much determine how fast you get a train out of the station. But power is that is important how fast it get to top speed. Now... using two locos with half the power then one larger, cost the same but usually gets a lit more traction. Also... because speed is "free" for locos, but not for wagons. You should always have a loco that have at least the top speed of the wagons. And if you want to make money. Trucks and buses over long haul is the most profitable. It's a thing that I king of dislike with this game... there is no rock sicser paper strategy Trucks is cheapest. And for trains. Just make it as long as it need to be.. the just ad locos for the right power.
