34° and you catch an 8.5 lb bass? I can't drag myself to the lake when it's that cold. I reside less than an hour from Palestine, a hidden gem until MLF screwed that up.

Haha, I by no means wanted to be out there but with the time + money spent on this trip we gave it our best. I feel very fortunate to have caught this large of a bass.

Love the video man. I'm coming down to Lake Palestine for the first time next week from Minnesota. Got any tips?

Thank you Lance! I think you'll have a very different and overall much better fishing trip than I did. We had that cold front come through on us and water temperatures dropped drastically in a few days (as extreme as 15 degrees in shallow areas) which I think really changed things. If you end up having conditions like mine at all then my best advice is locate brush piles and fish extremely slow. That first fish I caught in this video I have no idea how long my jig was in the water as it was slowly being dragged by me drifting while I messed with my backlash. I wish I was going back down there next week, the weather looks beautiful, I wish you the best and hopefully you're lucky to stumble on a new PB as well!

Great video and congratulations on the new PB! How's the steady cast working for you?

Thank you Parker! I took down my steadycast video because I was completely wrong about the install. I have since corrected it and have used it twice. I am wanting to learn how to fish offshore a bit more so it will be a huge game changer for me. So far it works extremely well even on the kayak, just turning the kayak a little adjusts the boat orientation on the graph. Note: now that I got it all installed and working well I'll be updating the previous video / replacing and then doing an on the water demonstration to help anyone else looking at adding it.
